Noel finally arrived in the City of Sootopolis, the very heart of the Rocket organization. He had heard tales along his journey of the various terrible deeds that they have done and decided to strike at them in any way he could. The sort of injustice that they have done was something Noel could not ignore.[break][break]

As he finally stepped foot inside the city he looked around while strolling through the streets. Taking note of its buildings and local people. It was then that he heard some shouting coming from across the street. He turned his gaze towards the commotion and noticed a group of people arguing with each other. [break][break]

He thought to himself that he should just leave it be, but knowing that the Rocket organization is just crawling in this city he felt it right to step in the argument that these people were having. Very soon however he felt something was off from one of the groups of people in this heated argument. He soon joined in and would be ready to fight with what he thought to be Rocket members unless someone intervened.[break][break]

Noel Parker arrives in the city with purpose. For Cillian, it is nothing more than any other day.[break][break]

Rather than skulking about on Rocket business, the underboss is merely taking his Lycanroc pack for a walk. Their restless energy, particularly that of their Midnight leader, did not fare well with being contained for too long.[break][break]

The blue-furred werewolf growls low in his throat as they near the building tension of an argument, and Cillian clicks his tongue to call the roaming pack to his side. They gather around him obediently, though the leader bares its teeth toward the annoyance.[break][break]

At the sight of him, the grunts react with equal parts fear and respect.[break][break]

He ignores them, turning his cold amber gaze upon the interloper. It's not a man he recognizes.[break][break]

"Is there a problem, citizen?"[break][break]

Warning threads tight through his tone. This is our city.

Noel stopped talking once he heard this new voice enter the mix. From the tone in this new person's voice he knew trouble was about to start. He slowly turned around and gave off a side gaze towards the new figure. Eyeing them up from head to toe to ascertain the new potential threat. He then fully turned his body to face the newcomer. Noting all of his pokemon he puts a hand to his belt on one of his pokeballs. Getting ready for a potential fight.[break][break]

"Hmph... I'm no citizen, just someone passing through this city for the first time and this is the first thing I see." [break][break]

Based on the aura this person was giving off Noel knew he had gotten himself into something much larger than he had bargained for. He had hoped to just take down these Rocket members that were much lower on the chain of command and be on his way but now here was someone much higher in rank based on the reactions from the members around him.[break][break]

"Although from the look of it you might be the one with the problem."[break][break]

Noel gave off a smirk towards the Rocket boss. He was trying to egg him on and was now awaiting his reaction.[break][break]

The blue-furred Lycanroc growls in warning as Noel Parker reaches toward a pokeball, but Cillian only chuckles. The sound is low in his throat, more threat than humour.[break][break]

"This isn't a fight you want to pick, kid."[break][break]

His attention shifts back to the grunts, who eye his Lycanroc with trepidation. It's clear from their bunched muscles that they're one command away from an attack, and clearly those beneath him don't feel assured it won't be on them.[break][break]

He only gestures, however, down the street.[break][break]

"Back to your business."[break][break]

With that succinct dismissal, he rounds once more upon the interloper.[break][break]

"Your first time in the city, you said?" A sound of contempt rises in his throat. "Then I'll offer the mercy of a reminder: this is our city. It is under our grace that you're allowed to set foot upon its streets. If you are unwilling to obey our laws..." His Lycanroc lets out a rippling snarl, sensing the tension, "then I will see that you're removed."

Noel takes note of the increasing tension that was rising between the two trainers. He looked to his surroundings to make sure no one else would interrupt for this to be an even fight. He lets out a hearty laugh full of confidence for he was so sure of himself to win. He stares right into Cillian's eyes with a fire burning in his eyes. He had grown bored of the trek to the city and finally some excitement had found its way to him.[break][break]

"I'd like to see you try. If you're so tough how about you prove it right now? I'll take every one of you Rocket crones in my way."[break][break]

With his self boosted ego he presses the button on his pokeball to let loose his Druddigon right beside him. It enters with a vicious roar as it eyes the competition. Its claws out being shown off right in front of the Lycanrocs ready to take on any foe. All it was waiting for now was the order to strike.[break][break]

"So what do you say huh? Think you can take me on? I'll mop the floor of this dirty city with you once we're done."[break][break]

Cillian blinks at him, nonplussed.[break][break]

Clearly, it's not a challenge he gets often. After a pause, he laughs again, but this time it's more mockery than menace.[break][break]

"You really don't know what you're up against."
[break][break]
This time, however, it's no mere warning. He'd given the courtesy of an easy out, but this kid had doubled down. SHADOW MIASMA swirls around the Rocket underboss, a thick purple-black haze that partially obscures his silhouette. Just in case.[break][break]

A Druddigon is sent onto the field. Rather than answer the challenge, Cillian clicks his tongue.[break][break]

The midnight Lycanroc lunges, NO GUARD leading a reckless PLAY ROUGH that ensures carnage on both sides. It aims for the dragon's throat, looking for a killing blow.

The shadowy mist surprised Noel, never before had he seen something like that. But it was but a brief distraction to the oncoming fight. Druddigon just barely jumps backwards in time, its neck getting nicked which was no easy task due to its Rough Skin. It winced slightly but stood fierce and strong awaiting its owner's command.[break][break]

"Hey not bad, you can keep doing whatever trick that is back there but now its time for me to get serious. Druddigon, give it all you've got!"[break][break]

Hearing Noel's order it finally gets ready to go on the offensive. It begins to charge forward towards the red-furred Lycanroc, readying its mighty hands with a Dragon Claw. It swings forward, aiming for the Lycanroc's body which was tiny compared to its own, if it landed it would no doubt cause major harm.[break][break]

The Druddigon bellows, and Cillian's Lycanroc pack HOWL in response, further empowering their lupine leader. It tears its claws through the ROUGH SKIN of the dragon without regard for the pain it's caused in return.[break][break]

Rather than retaliate against the leader of the pack, the dragon singles out his midnight mate.[break][break]

The other members of the pack were not born-and-bred killers as the blue-furred leader was, but they'd still been trained by an underboss of Rocket. Though she yelps in pain as the claws score across her flank, the red-furred wolf strikes back with a COUNTER.[break][break]

But Rocket doesn't fight fair.[break][break]

While its back was turned, the blue-furred leader lunges for the dragon a second time, landing an ineffective FIRE PUNCH.[break][break]

"The miasma?" Cillian replies, smirking. "It's not doing anything yet."[break][break]

These weren't his SHADOW POKEMON, after all.

The Druddigon was bruised and beaten yet it wasn't down for the count just yet. Sensing that Fire Punch from behind, it lifts its tail up for a counterattack. Slamming it against the blue leader, sending it flying a moderate distance onto a brick wall with a Dragon Tail.[break][break]

Noel was observing the carnage of a battle that was unfolding before him. He then reaches out for another pokeball and throws it out in front of him. This time his Frogadier appears, eager to battle.

"I hope you don't mind if I make this more of an even fight for my Druddigon. Although it really says something of you Rocket types to gang up on a lone pokemon like this, afraid of losing maybe?"[break][break]

Frogadier targets the now lone blue-furred Lycanroc that had just been singled out from the rest of the pack. It releases a Smokescreen from its mouth, obscuring the area around the leader. Frogadier enters inside for a one versus one duel against it, running around the Lycanroc with high speed from its Double Team.[break][break]

The blue-furred Lycanroc yelps in pain, the sound transitioning into a snarl of rage as it gets back to its feet. Rather than attempting to figure out the pattern in the DOUBLE TEAM, it simply buries them all beneath a ROCK SLIDE.[break][break]

Cillian laughs at the man's attempts to mock him.[break][break]

"These are my pets, not my powerhouses." The shiny wolf was the clear exception; he had been raised as a guard dog, vicious and unflinching. "I am Lugia's chosen. I could crush you with my eyes closed."[break][break]

Perhaps if Noel Parker watched the news, or paid attention to Hoenn's most wanted, he'd make the connection between Shadow Lugia's avatar, the spreading SHADOW MIASMA, and the man known as Cillian Quinn. Rocket underboss. War criminal. Murderer.

Due to Noel's ignorance and failure to keep up with the modern world, he didn't know much of the state of violence Hoenn was smothered with. He had seen some of the terrible deeds that Rocket was capable with and knew that this was a power that needed to be taken down. Yet this time perhaps Noel bit off more than he could chew. [break][break]

"I don't really care who or what you are. Doesn't make a difference to me that I know I must defeat you."[break][break]

The nimble but frail Frogadier had been caught by the opposing Pokemon's Rock Slide. It had fallen to the floor and was now slowly rising back to its feet but not without any trouble. Noel saw this along with its tired Druddigon still somehow standing. It was clearly showing signs of fatigue and now doubt began to fill his mind. Could he really win? Or would he do what he feared the most, retreat. [break][break]

"What fool steps into the lair of a beast without regard for its claws?"[break][break]

Though he was no Rocket Beast, Cillian still considered himself the fangs with which the organization might strike at the heart of the League. He was shaped by their violence into a tool with a cutting edge.[break][break]

He looks down at Noel Parker as if he were an insignificant ant.[break][break]

"You cannot hope to defeat that which you don't understand." His laugh is cutting. "Let me give you a taste."[break][break]

From a well-polished luxury ball at his belt, the underboss releases a TYRANITAR the likes of which few had ever seen. Crystalline black growths cover it like horrible spines, and its mere presence summons a DARK SANDSTREAM of cutting black shards, like a sandstorm out of a nightmare. Even Cillian's Lycanroc wince away from the maelstrom. She lets loose a TERRIFYING roar toward the Druddigon as SHADOW MIASMA swirls around her.

TERRIFY. Tyranitar frightens the target with a scary face to lower its SPEED and ATTACK. Affected targets will FLINCH and CANNOT BE RETURNED. This move can only affect a target once unless it returns to the field.[break][break]

DARK SANDSTREAM. Tyranitar summons a sandstorm of dark crystal shards when it enters battle. Other weather conditions can be present but this weather condition cannot be eliminated or replaced as long as Tyranitar is on the field. Tyranitar's DARK-TYPE attacks cannot be resisted during DARK SANDSTREAM. All Pokémon on the field except Tyranitar will suffer damage every round.[break][break]

Noel had no choice but to take the full force of the blackened sandstorm against his body with nothing to defend himself. It was as if sharp knives were cutting away slowly at his body, blood trickling down from various gashes. His Druddigon now shivering in fear from the almighty presence of a foe much larger than it. Noel quickly tries to come up with a solution for a way to get out but nothing was coming to fruition. He then recalls both of his pokemon back into their balls, realizing that if they were out for any longer that would mean the end for both of them.[break][break]

"Stop!... I... I yield..."[break][break]

It was hard to breathe. It took all of his might to even utter those words. And now he was at the mercy of the Rocket underboss, which he was sure he wouldn't get out unharmed. He awaited whatever punishment the victor decided upon.[break][break]

Predictably, his prey crumples.[break][break]

Cold satisfaction glitters in eyes of gold as he looks down upon the younger man. It would be easy enough to let him go, but what lesson would that teach other than leniency? The scars that mar the canvas of Cillian Quinn's flesh serve as visual aids for the lessons he'd been taught by his betters in Rocket. As he recalls the Tyranitar and tucks her pokeball back at his hip, the scar tissue across his left hand flexes with the movement.[break][break]

"Next time," he says calmly, as if there were no threat at all, "you will know better than to intrude where you are not welcome."[break][break]

He turns away. Noel Parker might think that he's safe.[break][break]

Then Cillian clicks his tongue.[break][break]
