Would they stick the landing? He certainly hoped so!

Thankfully, the Aggron was ‘fast’ enough to catch the Gardevoir in time (with a bridal-style carry, to boot, oh boy Gareth would be pissed if he found out) before she waved her arms while in the Aggron’s hold—

They had to take advantage of the Misty Terrain while it was still on the ground!

Another series of Expanding Forces would then emanate from the point of ‘impact’ where the attack had been applied on, so to speak—

Hopefully the Aggron would be able to catch at least one (or both) Pokémon in a juggle so that they could get a set-up and nuke them out of the arena!

For she (they) had plans.

“Thank you, Gron!” he would call out from his side of the arena. That was too close to tell!

Gardevoir is out on the field! Psychic Terrain (4 / 5)

Lynette the Gardevoir sticks the landing, bridal-style, in the Aggron’s arms before using Expanding Force once again in an attempt to catch at least one (hopefully both) Pokémon on Lam’s side of the field in a trap to set up for Gron’s next move!

“Nice catch Gron!” Elinor praised her Pokemon.

A bridal style landing was achieved putting Lynette safely in his arms. Luckily Gareth would not need to fear as Lynette was not in Gron’s egg-group. And so their closeness did not distract from the battle.

Speaking off. Gron would weather the EARTHQUAKE with Lynette in his arms, trying to keep her safe as the force of the very ground washed over him. But even with that massive pain he pushed through and summoned a ROCK SLIDE in an attempt to help Lynette in capturing at least one of their opponents.

The pair of cousins coordinated their pokemon well - seeming to understand one another's cues with little need to discuss. The synergy between the garevoir and aggron meshed, even for opposing types as they were. Shielding Lynette from the bulk of the damage gave the gardevoir a prime opening.[break][break]

The EXPANDING FORCE thrummed outward, empowered by the PSYCHIC TERRAIN that continued to rise from the pitch. Though Lam's corviknight was able to ward off the worst of the attack, circling higher above as he was, Ladon was not so lucky. The wave created slowed the beat of the flygon's wings - drawing him in just enough to be driven down to the ground further by the onslaught of Gron's ROCK SLIDE.[break][break]

While Butternut cawed from above, Ladon struggled to pull upright and free himself of the debris. Dust and dirt shook from his wings, scaly body winded from the weight of the attack. Still, he wasn't to be subdued easily. While the corviknight dove directly for the gardevoire, STEEL WINGS glinted before impact, Ladon sought to distract Gron - engaging him with a grappling SUPERPOWER.[break][break]

Though close range combat was not at all the flygon's strong suit.

The moment the Flygon started getting the brunt force of the—it was too early to tell, don’t celebrate yet, you idiota you’re still in the middle of a match—

If he did his math right there was one last round before the shimmering pinkish terrain would fade; and he was torn on either getting it set up again so they could continue the tactic, or face the fury of the—

“Incoming!” he would whistle; and the Gardevoir; suddenly seeing the Corviknight loom dangerously close to where Lynette was still riding, bridal-style in Gron’s hold before pointing both her ‘arms’ in the dual-type’s direction and forcing them to eat a Moonblast full to the face.

While it was a dangerous, risky move; it was one that would hopefully work to their advantage; and repel, or at the very least force the Corviknight back!

“Gron! Switch your target on the next!”

Because if he was being honest… the Gardevoir’s ‘true’ enemy was the Flygon.

Gardevoir is out on the field! Psychic Terrain (5 / 5)

Lynette is still in Gron’s arms; however there is a Corviknight coming in too close to tell with the attack; so in a very risky move the Gardevoir used a close-range (point-blank?) Moonblast to the Corviknight’s face in an attempt to repel them back!

With Lynette in his arms Gron’s movements had to be careful, where he would usually meet force with force, he could do no such things against the oncoming Flygon and its SUPERPOWER.

But Gron was not without means to defend itself.

A droplet of water formed in his now open jaws, for a mere moment before a powerful HYDRO PUMP shot out toward the approaching FLYGON aiming to keep distance, deal damage, and keep the Flygon from getting the desired grapple-lock.

Lynette's move, though risky, proved to have its intended effect.[break][break]

The proximity alone was enough to batter Butternut back. Though a MOONBLAST would typically do little to dissuade the corviknight, the brunt of it smacked right into his face with bright light. He peeled away, cawing as the moonlight burned his eyes and he wove in the air as he tried to regain his proper sense of vision.[break][break]

But even then, it was still not as detrimental as the jettisoned HYDRO PUMP.[break][break]

As Ladon dove in close, the spray of heavy-powered water caught him and threw him back. Slower than before from the heavy damaged he'd already sustained, the dragon dropped and then crashed to the ground altogether. Lam quickly recalled him in a bright beam of light, chin jutting up to spot the bird still careening through the air.[break][break]

"Alright, now it's-" Butternut swooped, head still shaking as his bleary vision remained too difficult to keep steady. Lam whistled, drawing the large, steel-winged bird back to him.[break][break]

Clumsily, wings flapping, the corviknight awkwardly landed on the pitch and skidded through the sand. Still letting out little titters of irritation as his feathers rustled. "On second thought, I think we'll call it here!" he called out to the challengers.[break][break]

"You've definitely shown me that your teamwork isn't just family ties - your pokemon were completely in sync." He looked toward the gardevoir and aggron with a nod, "That catch out of the air was crazy!" Striding toward the center, he pulled two badges from his pocket and held them out toward Lars and Elinor. "No doubt, you've earned these!"
