It'd been some time since Wren had last made it out to the safari zone. Between the blight and the rest of his head ranger duties, time had been stretched thin. He'd thought about asking Levy Alinsky to join him on the little outing, but when he'd left that morning, Levy had still been sound asleep. There were dark circles under his partner's eyes, and he couldn't bring himself to disturb him. He'd been working just as hard, after all.[break][break]

So today it was him and Juno! A little partner pokemon bonding time never hurt anyone.[break][break]

“Oh! Look, Juno! Cherubi— go get it for me?” He pointed at the little berry Pokémon. The polite ask is replied to with a tip from the leafeon before she sprints toward it. She BITES down, dragging it back to Wren proudly as if it were no more than a squeaky ball. One she’s momentarily reluctant to let go of before he collects it in a safari ball.[break][break]

Wren grimaces once he finally manages to wrangle the poor cherubi from Juno, “Go easy on it, girl.” The leafeon only yips in protest—she was just…playing… but still, she listens properly when her trainer points out a cramorant popping up out of the water. An ENERGY BALL is hurled at the bird this time rather than splashing into the water and throttling it by its long neck.[break][break]

Cramorant secured, the pair continued on. Just off the path ahead, he spotted a growlithe snuffling around in the bushes. Probably for something to hunt down. Immediately, the fire-type reminded him of his run on Josh Devlin’s Braver months and months ago. His hand went out, quietly signaling to Juno not to go on the offensive. They’d try stealth with this one. Creeping up as quietly as possible, Wren took careful aim and then threw a safari ball at the canine’s unassuming back.[break][break]

"Awesome!" The safari ball clicked shut, the clasp growing bright green as Wren and Juno approached from their hiding spot. He stepped around a pinchurin minding its business and carried on, stooping to pick up the ball now containing the growlithe. He turned it around between his hands. But before they go completely…he spied a ralts trailing from a distance. One last catch! Spurring Juno forward, she darts toward the littler Pokémon—wrapping it up in a LEAF STORM until it doesn’t quite know which direction to flee.[break][break]
