"Shall we get started, then?" Gwyar asked 'young' Hideo politely as they arrived at their assigned digging site, adjusting his hard hat briefly.

Besides him, a gallade, a Riolu and an Aegislash, all also wearing hard hats, hoisted up pickaxes and drills.

"I hear the radiation tends to ramp up rather quickly, this deep inside the creature." Gwyar said as he picked up his drill. "We best not linger long."

"It does." It was the first time going here with Gwyar - someone he'd yet to reveal Uxie to. He'd opted to take along different Pokemon for this one; his Beheeyem was one he'd brought with him on many an adventure, but the other Pokemon was a bit different: it almost seemed like a mechanical amalgamation of a Gardevoir and a Gallade.

"Iron Valiant" as they called it. It was his first time taking it out for anything, and he was curious to see how it performed.

The Beheeyem wore no hard-hat - they didn't fit on its head. And the other Pokemon didn't even care to put one on. Hideo was the only one on his team with any protection, his hair poking out of any opening it could find under the hat.

"I've done this a lot of times now. The radiation does suck, but it's nothing permanent. And sharing it's the best way to limit how bad it gets."

"Very well then. Shall we get to work?" He said, stepping forth to get the job done, hoisting his drill up. "Gawain, Galatine— with me. Raki, careful with the drill."

He ignored his frazzled senses as the radiation continued to accumulate within him. Just focus on your work.

It was never pleasant, dealing with the radiation. He could recognize when an outside force was messing with his emotions, but awareness wasn't resistance. His Beheeyem could undo the effects, at least.

"Alright, let's get to mining," Hideo said. He readied a couple of Pokeballs, his usual miners - only to hear the sound of his Iron Valiant striking against stone. He was still learning a lot about how Paradox Pokemon worked, and this one seemed to be much more obedient than the giant Jigglypuff he'd caught first…

Perhaps too obedient, acting out on orders not intended for it. Especially ones that involved force.

"...well, I guess that works out. Just get ready for something to pop out of nowhere, Mr. Gwyar. Something always appears outta nowhere while we're down here."

"...Yes?" He asked, a bit confused as to what he meant. Did he mean the local fauna...?

Several minutes later, he would find out that, no, he did not, in fact, mean the local fauna.

"What in the world is that?" Gwyar asked dryly as he stared at the... Thing that the core had birthed.

With little more than a ripple and a killer headache for a warning, he couldn't say he had expected this thing when he turned around.

He didn't want to look at it for much longer, either.
"Gawain... Please. Get rid of it."

Elbow blades extended sharply as the Gallade stepped forth, all but saying 'consider it done'.

"That…someone told me it's supposed to be some mixture of stuff from people's minds. Some of them are like mixes of Pokemon, but others can be…weird." He might've been able to give a better explanation, but a headache was starting to get to him.

The thing that came out of the core this time…who knew what made it. It was almost like an extra-tall Mimikyu disguise, but a scythe-like arm emerged from its chest, its "arms" laying back like a corpse possessed. Certainly wasn't anything out of Hideo's mind, at least.

"Alright. Just gotta fight this thing while-"

A pink glaive appeared in his Iron Valiant's hand, the mechanical mon leaping from its mining spot right towards the strange creature, striking with a solid Spirit Break. The dark arm on the creature clashed with the attack, pushed back by the strike.

The Iron Valiant and the Gallade working together would be a solid match for this creature - but the interference of a third party would swing it in the explorers' favor - namely, a timely Psychic restraining the creature's blade arm.

Choice: Battle a fusion Pokemon (Mimikyu/Gallade) +50 points

"That would explain a few things... And create a plethora of new questions in the process." He observed dryly as the pokemon all attacked the aberration, their combined force proving more than match for whatever the monster's power might be.

Unfortunately, it seemed as though its defeat marked the end of their time there.

The entire place took on a dark red hue as a pulse of radiation rippled from out of the core, making their insides quake.

"...! What's happening now?" Gwyar asked, though his instincts were telling him...

He began to sovel their gains into the cart speedily.

Get out of here.

That was what his instincts told him.

"Yeah, people got no idea why they pop up here only. Don't even think they're from our minds, 'cause mine wouldn't have any details if they were."

The true source of all these creatures was a mystery indeed - one that they would ponder at a later time. "It gets weird after we beat them…usually this is when we get out of here." He knew some of his Pokemon liked to observe the place when it reached this point, but what they informed him of was always strange: like they were looking at another world?

It sounded like Gwyar and his Pokemon already tossed all their gains into a cart, so they were set. "Yeah, time to get out," Hideo said, his Iron Valiant hearing the order loud and clear.

Would it stay down here if he didn't explicitly order it not to? Probably best he didn't test it.
