"We're coming upon the core now." He said as he took the lead. "Allow me to handle the Ore vein nearest to it."

He still remembered Shalin Nariya as she had looked towards the end of Galar— he would rather the girl not push herself too much, even if she was young again and decades of self-abuse away from such a fate still.

A little bit of self-control wouldn't go amiss.

"Let's be swift, everyone." He said to his trio of poke-miners, receiving triple hard-hatted nods.

Shalin had planned on repelling the dangers of the Ultra Sea on her own, the Sygna Suited girl seated on her Kommo-o with her Flygon and Type: Null trailing behind to keep watch for Ultra Beasts and other threats the alien world would sic upon them. "Got it - we'll watch your back! Treble here has a really efficient digging method. Might want to cover your ears!" she grinned. Through the Galar memory, she had learned what her suit's limits were in its current form, and more importantly, how to respect them. It didn't mean she couldn't have a hair-raising time with her Pokémon's abilities and the suit that let her defy physics in withstanding them, though!

The hawk-eyed Lathiel scanned their surroundings for the threat of Nihilego and Poipole, Sandy the Flygon ready to help. The dragon's body glowed a faint green as Treble warmed up. Activating the noise cancelling feature of her suit, Shalin grabbed the Kommo-o tightly and commanded him to go. Drawing back his vibrating fists, every scale on his body began to rattle profoundly, subjecting his rider to the adrenaline rush she loved. A cacophony of clanging, cymbal-like noise overlaid on top of a drone-like humming sound added to their unfamiliar surroundings. It worked, though, the vibrations shattering the rock around the Dynite Ore, making harvesting it far easier.

The blonde man decided against just asking the young woman if her riding the pokemon was even necessary. There was a time and place for the conversation— now was not it.

Their time in the locale was extremely limited.

Perhaps due to the loud vibrations generated by the Kommo-O, the duo's efforts were not interrupted by any ultra beasts or other pokemon, allowing them to dig into the ore veins more swiftly.

The ever present tension that came from being inside the skelleton continued to heighten with each passing moment, worsened yet by the increasing vertigo...

Was riding the Kommo-o was completely unnecessary? Absolutely. Was that going to stop her? Absolutely not! She had become well-known in Hoenn as a wild child born in the saddle; if she was in the wilderness and not on a Pokémon's back, then something was probably wrong. How she was withstanding the powerful vibrations may not have been apparent to Gwyar without looking at her Sygna Pokémon, Flygon. Green energy flowed between the two of them, her suit the only thing preventing her insides from liquefying under the extreme, almost earthquake-level shaking power.

The rattling scared the Ultra Beasts away, which made Lathiel quickly grow bored. A bored Lathiel was an unhappy one, and an unhappy one was quick to lash out to get her way. Raising a CRUSH CLAW toward Treble from behind, the Type: Null grabbed the base of the fighting-type's tail, the sudden move disrupting Shalin's balance enough that she could no longer hold onto the shaking scales. The threat of being socked by Treble's vibrating fists was enough for Lathiel to back down. "Lathiel, what's gotten into you? You wanted to fight Ultra Beasts, right?" she asked, still a bit shaken up as the Kommo-o went back to grinding rock before him to dust.

For a while, things were going well for the duo, little scuffles with their own temperamental pokemon notwithstanding, their carts filling up with treasure as they focused their efforts purely on mining.

Perhaps due to the lack of self-care however, the next step in the operation came to them just a little faster than either might've anticipated.

The ground benath them quaked as the core rippled, a wave of radiation passing through them before the sound of something landing heavily between them demanded their attention.

A large, lumbering creature rose. Draconic fists welled up with a myriad of blades, its body armor by a warped mishmash of steel and ore, its
comparatively diminutive face twisted into the rough silhouette of a riolu's skull.

"... These just keep getting worse." Gwyar observed dryly, before nodding at his three pokemon. "Please, eliminate it."

He turned his gaze over to Shalin, beginning to shovel his gains into the cart.

"Ms. Shalin— prepare to make a swift exit. Our time here's being cut short."

Shalin's suit, though powerful, had limits. She became acutely aware of those limits in the Galar memory, reinforced as Treble's full power dislodged her. After the scolding, Lathiel pouted, yawned, and passed out in front of the amalgamation of steel-type and fighting-type. "Lathiel! Not now!" she cried, her voice failing to reach willing ears. Under threat of grave injury, the explorer begrudgingly withdrew her Type: Null.

Her Kommo-o could no longer focus exclusively on packing up their stash of Tera Crystals and Dynite Ore. She whistled for her Flygon and began to load her Sygna Pokémon's saddlebags with their meager yield. Treble let out a hiss as rattling fists collided with the blades of the alien-looking creature that could questionably even be called a Pokémon. One of the blades found a gap in the Kommo-o's scaled armor, his own vibration tearing up the skin around his wound and sending red ooze flying in all directions. An unearthly screech from the dragon prompted her to recall the fighting-type, too. Sending out her saddled Shiny Beedrill for Gwyar in case he didn't have a Pokémon to retreat with, she took a seat on her Flygon. "It is!" She gestured toward the giant wasp. "Hop on and let's get out of here!"

"Hoooh." Well now! Usually he just sprinted his way out— but hey, he had a crazy migraine. He wasn't about to turn down a free ride.

"To your seats, ladies and gents!" He said to his trio of partners, returning all three to their pokeballs before hauling himself atop the Beedrill, patting its side gently whilst smilng.

"Thank you kindly for the ride." He said to the insect, before nodding back to Shalin. "You as well, of course. Now... Let us go!"

Luckily, they had begun shoveling their treasure with good time. It was a rather successful mining run!

That migraine would have been agitated by Queen Zing's deafening buzzing if it weren't for the earplugs Shalin had provided Gwyar for the operation. She always kept an extra pair on her in case she needed one of her buzzing partners to give someone a lift. The Shiny Beedrill was likely the friendliest one Gwyar had ever seen, though it didn't make the rumbling and rattling of its back any less challenging to handle as the wasp took off. Her flight was a bit sluggish due to Gwyar's heavier frame, but it would be fast enough for the two to make it back to the rift before the Eternatus Core's eye walls engulfed both of them.

After flying through the rift, the Beedrill was forced to slow to a stop due to the more confined spaces of Granite Cave surrounding them; even the noise from her giant wings buzzing risked a cave-in. They had escaped the rift with their full load, but at what cost? Shalin and her Flygon both had a massive headache that she knew was not vibration-induces. What in the world was that thing, and why was it so oppressive?
