the door creaks, announcing marcus' arrival. he enters with an air of nonchalance that does not suit the precarious way he's holding a coffee tray with one hand. nestled in the space between two coffees and spilling out into the empty holders is enough cream and sugar for Lulu Flint to make her drink unrecognizable.[break][break]
he sets it down on the table. though the labs were busy, peace could generally be found in some smaller unoccupied rooms, where office furniture lived alongside equipment that needed to be out of the way.[break][break]

”yes.” it was soft, as though her thoughts lagged behind. her eyes came up, though clearly still immersed in what she’d been looking at.[break][break]
