he sucks his teeth, he places his hands in his pocket as his will takes over the manipulation of the vines against the bullet punches. "You aren't worth it." he says as he shrugs off Navy's desire to hear his story, in reality, he was avoiding telling it. [break][break]

"No one's ever given a shit about me besides jayden cross and-" he almost blurts out his name, priam conrad's. But doing so would not only put him at risk, reveal his weakness. They had been split for a bit now, but the wound was still fresh on his heart, the one his abilities couldn't remove. "You're just a nail for me to hammer down." he says as his grimmsnarl snickers wickedly and puts both of his arms together and uses his hair manipulation to form a comically large hammer and attempts to bring it down on Tormund.[break][break]

Meanwhile the zarude also falls for the taunt, leaving bryan's side in the safety of the trees and rushes towards tormund as well attempting to THRASH his opponent.

“Maybe.” The sheriff concedes, his tone jovial. Cordial. Friendly, if a man can be friendly under such circumstances. With the way the wind blowing, the tone doesn’t go much farther than skin deep. “But I’m one damn annoying nail. Got hammered in at a weird angle. Now I won’t get beaten into place that easy.”[break][break]
A sharp whistle sends Tormund and Musashi forward. Other concerns are forgotten. They’ve a big fish to fry. This is the second Zarude Navy’s fought. Resolving to go onto the offense, he eschews defense. Hiding behind a shield, as ever, is pointless. Tormund makes himself the center of attention – the star of the show.[break][break]
Musashi is the one really putting in work. Flying in front of the cat, he slams another bullet punch empowered by steely spirit into the legendary monkey’s stomach. Were that the end of it, it would be a moderate blow. Mighty, but nothing show-stopping. Only now does Tormund attack, slamming into the thrashing Zarude with his stubborn iron head. Both of Navy’s Pokemon are slammed by the thrash, but they rally. Wobbling, they stand.[break][break]
“Haaaar!” Tormund says…right as a hammer whacks him like a diglett.[break][break]
“Tormund!” Navy draws a pokeball lightning fast, recalling his cat before he can suffer fatal injury.[break][break]
“This ain’t over.”

The bullet punch slams into the monkey, knocking the wind out of it's lungs for a moment as it coughs wildly. The thrash was interuppt
The thrash was effective, knocking out his perrserker in one powerful blow. In one move he effectively managed to demonstrate the difference between beasts and gym leaders. [break][break]

His Zarude lunges forward, trying to kill the Pokémon outright but the trainer was fast and managed to recall it in time, thwarting the monkey's efforts. "You sure about that?" he asks him. "From where I'm standing it seems like you're about to start running out of friends and mine are just getting started." [break][break]

He gives his next set of orders "Get them with a fire punch." he orders as Grimmsnarl's hair tendrils extend forward, igniting to try and melt the bug.

A warrior never shows his back, but a warrior defends those he’s charged with defending. An impossible choice. He wonders for half a heartbeat what those warrior dogs would do.[break][break]
He’s not some legendary hero. Just a man. A man who’s needed. Throwing out another pokeball, Shuwen joins him. Between his surging strikes and Musashi’s punches, they work their way back up the beach. It takes the pressure off Bryan, giving him the luxury of going elsewhere or pursuing.[break][break]
The choice is entirely up to the Beast, who fancies himself higher on the totem pole than a gym leader.

There were many things Bryan was, a drunk, an brute, maybe a bit of an asshole. But he was very perceptive, he could tell from Navy's expression that he just got some information. "Awww did you just figure out I'm just buying time for my friends? Booooo." he groans as his fun was ending. [break][break]

He rolls his neck "Retreat, we bought more than enough time." he says but in reality, he didn't want to continue wasting energy on him and burn out before the rest of his fun was to occur.[break][break]

it was a good little introduction to the new sheriff in town. Luckily he was a trouble maker so he felt like he was unfortunately see a lot more of him. His remaining pokemon rush back into the trees and vanish into the plant life. "So long, cowboy."
