the shadow storm surges forward, but it's met with the same indifference of protect that reuniclus' attacks had encountered. it howls over the barrier, feeling it out for weaknesses. as the attack abates, so too does their shield, shimmering as its weakened shell dissolves. [break][break]
"odd to see a shadow pokemon with league personnel," he comments, idle observation. it's a shame he has to destroy it to get at the man hiding behind its flower shields.

reuniclus zips towards Greyson Connors , one fist glowing with energy as it tries to hook a hammer arm at the comfey-occupied side of his body.

marcus had expected the league to have more qualms about using shadow pokemon, but he supposes everyone's morals come secondary in war. his reuniclus shatters Greyson Connors 's protect beneath a fist, but the appearance of the elite four's aerodactyl prevents a second hammer arm from coming down on him. [break][break]its cocked fist is claimed between the rock-type's teeth with an accompanied yelp of pain and a kneejerk hammer arm aimed at its snout.

Flushed with anger, the prehistoric Pokemon charges forward, lumbering like a beast gripped with starvation. The Aerodactyl lowers its shoulder for a giga-impact just as AGILITY empowers its movements, the massive beast turning its entire body into a projectile.

the aerodactyl's loosened teeth embed themselves into reuniclus' skin like thorns. as the dinosaur staggers back, they pop out of the psychic-type's gel and clatter against the deck in a shower of serrated teeth. a wash of soothing light spreads through viscous jelly and visible organs as reuniclus recovers from the bite.[break][break]
it's short-lived.
[break][break]
the boat lurches with the aerodactyl's giga impact. steel crunches beneath the devastating force, splintering the deck. marcus stumbles sideways, reaching for the comfort of the railing. the vessel begins to right itself with a low groan.
[break][break]
and beneath the aerodactyl is his reuniclus. its wisdom-imbuing liquid follows the cracks in the damaged floor and drips from the sharpened edges of crumpled metal into the body of the ship. [break][break]
desperate, it tries to use psychic to blast the aerodactyl away.

Betraying the silence that preludes it, an explosion of energy torrents out. The hyper-beam rips through the ship with no effort, building a line as the fossil-pokemon barrels it directly towards his opponent.
