A team of grunts had just landed on the shore and pushing forward mostly unimpeded. At least, that's what Neon can see from his own little boat. The temporary structure he highly doubted he'd be rowing his sorry ass back home in. The small barge rocks in accordance with the sloshing of the waves. The waters are turbulent and sea form bubbles everywhere on top of the dark waters. [break][break]

He's soaked from his previous watery attack, now catching his breath on an abandoned ( stolen ) boat. A pair of pokemon float around just under the surface, keeping check of their immediate perimeter. He stands alone as a temporary barrier, waiting for either the next wave of Rocket that needed escort to shore form the bigger open ocean, or an attack by League trying to stem the flow of Rocket into the Tera Tunnels. [break][break]

There's a strange explosion, fire shooting out dirty and rock for a moment on the shore. Accompanied by the strange display from the caves is a panicked messages reporting a number of HEATRAN swarming out of the caves. Fantastic.

He had several complaints about assignments like these, and they all started with some manner of 'I should be in the medic tents'.

"What are we looking for, sir?" He asked the councilman as he made landing upon yet another one of the league's boats, his gaze roving across the ocean's horizon before finally landing on Silph.

He hadn't been briefed on the assignment so much as been given a set of coordinates and a person to join up with.

At least it was Fernando. He didn't need to worry much about the man– he could handle himself, probably even more than Doug. They could finish this quickly and he could get back to the healing bay.

doug’s question is answered by the groaning croon of a ZAP CANNON being charged. like mortar units, his MAGNETON continues to gather condensed electricity until it reaches an optimal output. as their vessel jets against the ocean’s constant waves, the pokemon continues to hold until it gauges the attack can hit.

zzzrttt!

a plume of smoke hisses from the pokemon’s metal surface as the energy blast is discharged with violent force. it travels in a straight line for the beach, looking to rain suppressive fire to the docking rockets.

fernando knows his attacks don’t have to hit. their presence alone adds another factor the encroaching invaders must take into account. an effective way to slow down their unimpeded rush with little effort on their part.

the same strategy that had conquered his previous island conquest: the AQUA FESTIVAL of 2019.

The electricity lands with a strange BOOM! Pieces of sand turn to glass when it doesn't go flying from impact. The grunts take cover and Neon turns his attention to the source. The smoke is enough of a clue. And even if it wasn't, he's pretty sure that incoming ship wasn't Rocket. [break][break]

"Charlie, start prepping for me." he said to the Clamperl as it cooed, bobbing easily on choppy ocean waves. It focused its power, pulling on the cloudy skies and forcing them to darken as RAIN DANCE summoned a downpour. The Marrill on the other side perks up before Neon nods over. "Stall them before you push up." And to this, the Marrill begins to summon a WHIRLPOOL against the encroaching ship aiming to lock them into one place before they could come any further. That wouldn't help much the scrambling grunts, but... [break][break]

"Incomming on our six, might get ass blasted again." he reports to the executives on the ground alreayd trying to set up a a MIRROR COAT line or something to protect themsleves.

Doug's hair whipped back as the electromagnetic blast launched forth like a railgun, blasting apiece the beach side the rockets had been trying to dock on and sending grunts in a panicked scramble.

"Understood!" He said as he watched the scene unfold on the beach, binoculars in hand. "They're reacting well!"

His gaze was drawn away from the beach by the rapidly darkening skies above— before their ship suddenly came to a jarring stop, throwing off the balance of many of the crew men aboard, making Doug grab onto the handrails nearby.

Peering down over said rails, his hand was already fishing through his boxy briefcase as he found the reason for their impromptu stop.

"This again." He huffed, finding a vortex trying to sink his ship for the second time that day. "If I had a penny..."

A pokeball was pulled out of his bag, before getting lobbed at their ship's forecastle.

"Deal with it, Toripo!" He said as his Kabutops landed upon the forecastle in a low crouch, the screeching sound of its scythes dragging over the steel deck filling the air as it rushed for the railings.

It leapt down into the whirlpool below, landing on nimble feet over the spinning current as if it were surfing upon it, before its entire form was enveloped in a swath of water, its Aqua Jet allowing it to slide into the water below and ride the vortex's current to its source.

After a moment of staring into the water, Doug turned to Fernando, his hand fishing into his bag for another pokeball.

"I'm gonna go raise some hell at the beach; if I see anything weird, I'll let'cha know Sir!"
