Nenet peers dubiously at the slip of paper the informs her the coordinates of a Rocket communications camp and her task of destroying its viability. The only bright spot in this is she was supposed to have a partner - someone with more experience running about with Rockets crawling everywhere.

Clicking her tongue, Nenet release her Pyroar and takes off at to her rendezvous point where none other than Fernando Silph waits.

she’ll find the councilman inside the league’s entrance to the cave system. their primary force is occupied with either: holding rocket off on the beach or participating in the expedition deep beneath the island’s mantle. only a few—floaters such as them—find purpose elsewhere.

he taps his earpiece upon her approach. coordinating the influx of trainers coming and going on the battlefield is what he does best. an ample time for him to nurse the obvious wounds of several skirmishes in his down time.

“silph,” he greets, promptly.

he follows after he lead, reading the note with his uninjured arm while his cleffa continues to mend his exposed elbow with its HEAL PULSE.

Nenet allows her gaze to flicker downwards to Fernando's injured arm; her brow knits minutely at the sight of him, but she otherwise remains silent as to his present state.

"A pleasure," she replies instead. She digs in her satchel until she produces the pokeball that contains her Clefable and tips her chin towards Fernando's. With a nod, Clefable gives a little hum and lifts one finger, waving in a pattern across the air until it lightly touches his injured arm with a Life Dew.

The message now delivered, Nenet says, "I think it would be prudent for you to rest instead of going on this little endeavour. You can call up someone else free, can't you?"

Fernando's battered body was his own, so Nenet merely nods in turn and looks over one of the rough maps of the island's geography. Taking a moment to orient herself in relation to the landscape around them, she then beckons Fernando towards outside the cave system.

It wouldn't take too long to reach their intended target - Nenet only hopes the councilman can pick up the slack she will surely bring to this firefight; her Pyroar paces with growing energy, the feline's scarlet eyes glittering with the same vitality that lend crystablooms life.

OLD WOUNDS ARE FORGOTTEN IN LIEU OF THE ONES THEY LOOK TO INFLICT. the way his CLEFFA is returned undermines the extravagance of his next pokemon. he waits until they’re in place, holding onto the twilight of surprise, to reveal themselves with the bulk of his STEELIX.

all eyes fall onto the gargantuan sudden appearance but that matters not. they are not here to escape unscathed. they are here to destroy and move on, faithful to hoenn’s endless cycle of violence.

“buy us a moment,” he instructs.

the illuminating power manifesting between the STEELIX’s agape jaw should be tell tale enough of what’s coming next.

It's a quiet trip - one Nenet can appreciate. It's also thankfully short enough, and soon they're in place and it seems Fernando has a plan.

The distraction of Steelix allows Nenet's Pyroar to slip in behind the chaos and lead the pair closer to one of the roughshod communication tower of wood. A word from Nenet sends the lumber aflame, assisting in adding to the chaos of the camp.

An explosion of dirt and sand fills the air from somewhere near the Steelix, and Nenet muses to Fernando lowly, "We should slip out while we can."

THE PYRE ILLUMINATES MORE THAN JUST A DISTRACTION. it heralds the destruction that they’ve yet to realize. those unaware of the full situation clamber around to evacuate and salvage what they can. after all, this is only a temporary installment. a disposable site erected amidst a war.

“almost,” he reassures they scatter like DURANTs.

moments later, the STEELIX unleashes its stored power. raw light burns through sand and flames alike as its Z-MOVE blinds those that stare directly at it. more than enough to snuff out what remains of their communication station.

LIGHT OF RUIN: RUINOUS BLOOMS IN MOONLIGHT
a devastating beam of light is unleashed on the battlefield before leaving lingering energy. the user is empowered immensely, but becomes confused.

Almost.

Fernando isn't done, though Nenet certainly is. The chaos of the camp crawls under her skin, leaving an itch she can't quite scratch and rid herself of the inability to escape or organise her surroundings. Sweat prickles upon her skin from the heat of the flames, and the next thing she knows another explosion-like attack rockets through the camp.

Wincing and covering her face from the sand and light, her hand blindly gropes from Fernando's forearm and, once she's found it, gives a forceful tug. The communication tower was in shambles.

"That's more than enough now," she calls over the destruction raining down upon them. Whether he was ready to leave or not Nenet would.
