The hell hound let out a snort, but didn’t back down. Silence filled the air between them, the ghost incense bellowing more scents into the cool fall breeze. And after several minutes of a stand off, the ghost and ground type turn to flee. It if wasn’t looking for a specific pokemon, Maverick would have caught it. Alas, it’s not what he wanted. “Come Azula,” the man mumbled, hands returned to his pockets as he turned his back to the wild pokemon, “Let’s keep going.”

A cool breeze rushed over land sending any fallen dried leaves into a graceful autumn dance. It also aided in carrying the incense scent further down the path, attracting any ghost pokemon in the area. In fact, it didn’t take too long for yet another ghost type to make an appearance. It was Azura’s sensitive nose that picked up its sent, a snarl vile snarl ripped through her throat as her lips lifted to reveal her pearly whites. [break][break]

Maverick came to halt, warm crimson colored eyes flickered form left to right. Ghost types were nothing to scoff at. Many of the legends around ghost types are supernatural events or some even curses. And as the man was about to moved on, Azula found the said ghost type. It was hard to miss, the golurk being a massive pokemon. Yet as Azula snarled at it and tested the wild creature, it only lingered for a few minutes before fleeing. Well… that was…. Strange.

As the last bit of the incense sizzled out and drifted in the cool autumn breeze, Maverick couldn’t help but let out a loud displeased sigh. These things never work in his favor, ever. Nothing ever good pops up. Or at least, nothing that he wanted anyway. Crimson colored orbs flickered to his beloved canine, a single brow rose as she snarled at something before them. His gaze lifted, spotting the wild pokemon as it tried to hide behind a rock.[break][break]

Phantump were curious greats to say the least, like most ghost pokemon. It is believed that they are former souls of those who lost their life. The ex gym leader wasn’t really into the whole supernatural, curses, or second life thing. For some reason, it was just hard to believe. Yet, the burnt scarred man hoped that if the whole reincarnated was real he could be placed into a pokemon that was not a weak little phantump.[break][break]

“Yeah,” he sighed again, giving the canine the sigh he was free to do as she wished, “Go.” Without hesitation, the hell hound leaped into action. A ghoulish screamed erupted from behind the rock when Azula pounced, snarls and growls sounded off and followed by a high pitch scream of pain. It didn’t take long for her to knock the creature out, a good CRUNCH on its ghostly form was more than enough to make it faint.[break][break]

In fact, Azula emerged from behind the rock with said unconscious wild pokemon between her jaws. Maverick huffed, rolling his eyes but held a smile. Reaching into his pocket, the man plucked an empty sphere and strolled up to her. He gave her pat on the head with on hand and tapped the sphere on the almost lifeless body between her teeth. The ball sucked it in, leaving Azula mouth empty. “You’re something else, you know that.” She let out a snort.
