Hoenn's water did not get cold when winter came. They only shifted, drawing in unusual things from the depths.[break][break]

His scuba suit was on, his Lanturn next to him- the water type curling in the water as he kicked deeper and deeper below the waves. The rebreather clenched between his teeth keeping him below the waves longer than he could on his own.[break][break]

Small water types danced around his fingers, vanishing into cracks of coral if he moved too suddenly. A plethora of color come to rest under the tides.

What met Tempest below the waters was none of the toxic and brightly colored fish as he might expect. Instead, a Squirtle approached, fluffy tail curling around the man as it circled him.[break][break]

Not able to properly smile or speak to the small turtle pokemon, Temp did his best to curl his eyes closed in a friendly way to show he wouldn't harm it. A small bit of pokefood, kept in his pack for things like this, was offered. The blue pokemon took it from his hand quickly before blowing a few harmless bubbles in thanks and darting off.[break][break]

Temp hummed to himself, moving lower in the water. There was a patch of coral he had wanted to check up on while he was down here.

The fragile corals blooms were healthy- which was a welcome relief. The last time Tempest had been out here to check, they had looked weak. He had suspected that perhaps something was eating them, or even that something nearby was poisoning the fragile growths.[break][break]

For now, though, all seemed well.[break][break]

Out of the corner of his eye, over the edge of the deeper waters, Tempest paused to watch a small colony of Tentacool float by. They must have been rising to the surface for easier prey in the light.[break][break]

He hummed to himself, content as he watched them pass at the distance.

A surge of electricity in the water behind him, a flash of light. Tempest turned from watching the Tentacool to see a Horsea floating in the water, unconscious. Lanturn grabbed it by the tail with her mouth, about to have a nice snack. As was the way of the world, as sad as it might be.[break][break]

Tempest might have let it happen but there was a sudden flickering of recognition in his eyes. He didn't desire large collections of pokemon but there had always been that craving for... more aquatic pokemon. To fill out a small fleet of his own underwater team. The ocean was his home and his best place to fight. So he needed a good team to go with it, right?[break][break]

And Horsea was not a pokemon he had. One he had even been looking for.[break][break]

Gently, Tempest placed a hand on his Lanturns head and pushes her away before she could swallow the seahorse. The water type seemed to pout at that, giving him a look that he remedied with treats. A Lure Ball was taken from his hip, empty, which he used to tap on the unconscious Horsea to try and catch.[break][break]

He would need to message Cillian Quinn after this and tell his love that he had narrowed down one more pokemon on his wish-list.
