Frank had been in a good mood. Ignoring the reminders from his assistant about the upcoming shareholder meeting, he'd taken the day off to travel from Rustboro to Slateport. There, in the upper district, he'd strolled into the garage of one of the most premiere motorcycle manufacturers and browsed with interest.[break][break]

He had always appreciated luxury cars, but his recent conversations with Cillian Quinn got him thinking how boring cars tended to be. Nevermind he had to sell his second one to help with the cost of his frequent fine dining.[break][break]

But a motorcycle—now, riding that was a thrill! Frank had never pictured himself as the "bad boy" type to have a roaring engine between his legs; he'd always been too corporate and too preppy. But even he had to admit motorcycles had a certain allure.[break][break]

And now, with his business going under… well, why the fuck not?[break][break]

Unfortunately, Frank had not anticipated that a Slaking, slumbering in the middle of a busy road, would disrupt his first joyride. Several cars around him had come to a stop in front of the snoring Pokémon. Even honks from their horns and angry cries from their drivers did not wake it.[break][break]

"This is crazy," Frank said to himself as he looked for a way to maneuver out of the traffic jam.[break][break]

But not before snapping a photo of the disturbance and sending it to DAMIEN RUSSO with a quick "lol look at this guy" as the caption.

Scott was first on the scene!

Well, first Ranger, at least; there were plenty of pedestrians roaming around on both sides of the Slaking, Pokemon and cars alike at a complete standstill. The honking of the vehicles and the baying of the various ride Pokemon created a cacophonous din that would only serve to confuse and enrage the Slaking if he were to wake. That didn’t seem very likely, though. Judging by the volume of snoring and the scent of berries and hot dogs, it seemed this poor creature was in a food coma of some sort. It would not be easy to rouse this creature.

”Alright, Jade, let’s see what you can do!”

The Tropius descended to the ground, alighting on the asphalt with a huff, it’s tree-trunk like legs absorbing most of the shock. Scott leaped from her back, landing with a run towards the beast blocking the road. Truth be told, he wasn’t entirely comfortable with Jade yet; he had trained with her long enough to name her and learn her moveset, but anything beyond that was still a mystery. This did seem rather fortuitous, though; it gave him a prime opportunity for him and Jade to bond.

Just hopefully nothing went awry.

”Alright, let's Sweet Scent and get this crowd under control!”

A confirming cry and Jade fluttered her wings, the leafy appendages releasing a pink mist that hovered close to the ground. As the density increased, Scott nodded, and with a flap of her wings the dust rapidly blew across the area, smothering the Slaking and the assembled crowd and Pokemon with a scent like flowers and fruit. Calming and distracting for sure, but it also served the primary function of causing their attention to divert from the Slaking to the source of the sweet pink mist, that being the Tropius … with a person standing on its outstretched head.

Thankfully for him, Jade was quite a bit bigger than average, allowing him to get quite a good distance above the ground.

”Please, folks! This is official Ranger business, take your Pokemon and move away from the Slaking! If he wakes up, we don’t want anyone to be hurt! I assure you, we will handle this as soon as we can! Until then, I urge you not to draw attention to yourself! Slaking are notoriously grumpy when awoken and can lash out at anytime!”

It was fine for him, of course, he was trained for this sort of thing. But having to protect the civilians if the Slaking did decide to make a nuisance of itself would only add another layer of complexity to this puzzle. He just hoped they couldn’t see how stressed he was; honestly, Scott had no idea how to handle this. How does he wake a massive, powerful sleeping Pokemon without invoking its rage or causing permanent damage to it or the surroundings?!

The SWEET SCENT certainly caught Frank's attention. He wasn't the only one to look around for its source, then look up to find the Ranger riding atop his Tropius, giving directions to every civilian with a Pokémon.[break][break]

Having none out himself, Frank remained where he sat on the back of his new motorcycle. He did flip down the kickstand and turn off the engine, though. He didn't know what the Ranger planned to do or how long it would take, so he'd rather not waste gas.[break][break]

The Slaking itself continued to slumber. Uttering an even louder snore than before, it scratched at its chest with one massive claw, then rolled onto its back and splayed out its limbs.[break][break]

Frank looked up, observing the Ranger with mild amusement. How would the man take care of this predicament? Would he MEGA EVOLVE one of his Pokémon? Use a Psychic-type? Entice the Slaking with delicious-smelling treats?[break][break]

Either way, it was sure to be a spectacle.
