It feels so alien. Something as mundane as drinking from a water bottle. It already should feel that way, it's not his. He took it off of one of the Leaguers he left in a pile. But it's the irreplacable feeling that it isn't him. They don't feel right.[break][break]

The water tastes good. Working up a sweat does that.[break][break]

"Thanks." He throws it down towards the unconscious body of the Ranger he pilfers it from, tossing it at their head empty. "You have my permission to die now." He steps on the body, closer towards the neck, before walking up a hill overlooking the shoreline.[break][break]

Blue eyes look over everything. The battles were slowing down more and more. Still, he felt nothing. That kid, probably nineteen? Who knows. He's probably dead now.[break][break]

Maybe he shouldn't have been a Ranger.[break][break]

As he approaches Sirin, his Corviknight, he throws a slab of meat to her. Feeding her the Pokemon that the little Ranger had, the morsel that remained after the kill. "Good girl." Sirin caws quietly.[break][break]

He was about to leave for the day...

It's easy very easy to track things. Easier than most might figure. But most people don't know how to silence their steps, cover their tracks. Some, he believes, want to be followed even. That' just makes Paxton's job easier. A small force of Rockets had apparently met quickly with a supply route? Or?? something. League affiliated that were supposed to be moving with escort or maybe even better escorted were attacked. Paxton sees the remains and doesn't stop walking. [break][break]

He's slow, meticulous. His partner moves just as silently by his side and they try to find the people responsible. They're moving too quickly, too efficiently through the shower line and that's the only reason why he's tasked to neutralize. Even the explosions of fire from the HEATRAN or the far off tendrils of dream mist didn't shake him.[break][break]

Again, it's not hard. He sees sandy tracks, clumps of wet sand sticking and shaking off into the mass of dune grass. But even more obviously is the Corviknight that stands with her trainer. An easy shot. Set up is quick for a man as practice as he is a soft pop, pulses as the rifle kicks back hard into his arm pit. Even silenced, the noise one is able to hear is strange. [break][break]

But Tango doesn't wait for the shot that he knows will hurt regardless of where it lands. Preferably the bird brain's neck but nobody could be so lucky. Joules beeps, several feet in the air, eyes scannign aorud nthe area for Troy's comrades, but it seemed lie kthey'd scattered to the wind. Perhaps he's on a solo mission now? Or perhaps he's a scout. Either way, he had his orders.

It was within a moment, that Sirin sees the strike coming. Her instincts go into over-drive, and her steel wing comes up to block a blast that was meant to kill. The blast hurts Sirin, the bullet digging in surely... but with it, Troy looks up. And their eyes narrow.[break][break]

"Ah. The evening entertainment." Devilish, he moves to climb atop Sirin, as the bird would take off immediately, its flying a little unevenly, but a Corviknight's armor was its biggest selling point.[break][break]

It's why Troy bought one.[break][break]

That shot wouldn't be made twice, and as Sirin flies around, making an insane flight pattern to freak out any shooters from below, the steel bird soars through the air with Troy analyzing every bit of the land. The trajectory would denote a shooter from a certain distance away. Moment he finds them?[break][break]

Troy will be sure to have his fun.[break][break]

Unbeknownst to their loving foe, creeping nearby through the ground, a burrowed Gliscor listens to the vibration in the ground... Drac was waiting to find them, and a time to strike properly. Having dug in as a precaution after Troy's fun earlier, he had done that upon his order, in case back-up arrived.[break][break]

Lucky day. That Gliscor's tongue could taste the fresh blood now. He was elated.

The bird launches itself into the sky and as Paxton puts another bullet in the chamber and locks back the rifle, Joules begins to engage, staying near their partner. Tango is still bum rushing, oblivious to any additional threats. Joules hadn't seen anything and called out just as much in their weird series of beeps and light flashes. [break][break]

The Toxicroak launches itself up trying to catch pokemon and rider, tossing a SUCKER PUNCH to at least scrape the talons but finding no purchase. Frustrated, he snarls loudly. [break][break]

Meanwhile Joules is already charging up to blast a sudden ZAP CANNON at bird and rider while Paxton calls out to his partner. "Tango! Stay close!" he ordered, lifting hiss rifle to keep a eye on the Corviknight currently taking evasive maneuvers. He'd have to wait to take his shot.

The Toxicroak truly did want to die early. It was cute, seeing such a precious little beast come up and attempt a SUCKER PUNCH, and even though it hit, the Toxicroak might find that it was deliberately hit, as the steel bird intending to dig its beak directly into the monster with a PLUCK, trying to tear into the frog. If it hit, both would be dealt a glancing blow.[break][break]

Only difference? Troy's command.[break][break]

"Keep a hold of it."[break][break]

With two razor sharp talons, Sirin attempts to grab on, to use as a meatshield against their sniper in the sky, and to drag this frog through hell. If that ZAP CANNON had hit, perhaps it would have hit Tango too. If. But all it ended up doing was clue in Troy where the enemy was.[break][break]

Worse, when Drac finally spawned upwards. Hearing the blast reverberate from the ground. The scorpion bat blasts from the dirt, eyes giddy as he moves for an immediate NIGHT SLASH on the Officer, hoping that the Pokemon nearby would protect him. The Gliscor was as cruel as Troy.[break][break]

And Troy would take this time marking his prey.[break][break]

"Sniper. That direction. Get me closer, evasive maneuvers, Sirin." The Corviknight caws, flying through the sky. If the unwilling passenger had come along, ensuring to obscure the shot best they can. Eyes peering down, locking onto the prey. The little shit set of magnets that fired off a cannon.

Tango hisses as he's plucked out of the air, struggling against the corvid and rider as he realized they're moving backwards towards his trainer. He doubles down on his efforts, bending into place as he tries to administer a vicious LOW KICK to get the Corviknight to let him go. [break][break]

Paxton only glares through his scope, sighing in annoyance. Tango was trying, but Joules’ attack would only power forward blasting the trio. Too late to correct that now. The good thing about Corviknights, he thought, was how big they were. Big enough to taxi various humans around in Galar. Big enough to be a more viable target than the rider on them. He finds a point in the horizon, watches and waits for a lunge upwards and holds. “Get ready, I need another-” he warned his partner ready to pincer the bird in the sky when the GLISCOR pops out of the earth. [break][break]

It's a sudden lurch of the earth and Paxton already feels the drop in his stomach as he just barely managed to lock eyes with the attacking pokemon before his Magnezone body slams its dark attack, flashing brilliantly with MIRROR COAT. Paxton tries to get back up, giving Joules much needed back up. [break][break]

It's a wilder shot that he intends, but he stares down the GLISCOR as Joules tries to repel it and uses his shot on it before allowing his partner to take care of the rest.

The Gliscor really did pull his own. He'd give Drac a treat later, but as Sirin takes the nasty little LOW KICK, she lets the Toxicroak drop soon after, falling from very, very high, almost atop of the sniper, as Sirin swoops downwards in a bit of a nosedive, a spiral in the sky as Troy eventually swan dives off, and lands right in front of him, tucking and rolling to brace for the fall.[break][break]

Drac cackles, attempting a nasty little X-SCISSOR on Joules, as Troy comes in with his blade at the ready now, spinning it out as he races at Paxton. "Good eye. Let's fix that." Moving to slice it upwards at the sniper, wanting to take it out.[break][break]

Meanwhile, Sirin moves in to SWAGGER the Toxicroak, intent to make Tango hit harder, yes, but if the little frog shit is still alive, intending to make their life hell moving forward.[break][break]

An attack on all three fronts. Distract the Pokemon, go for the sniper himself. That was their main agenda. If they take an eye, well. Sniper should have moved better. Not Troy's problem, not Troy's horse.[break][break]

There's no taunting. No giddy glee. This is the job. And the job for Rocket meant this League member had to die. That simple. He hates getting his hands dirty.[break][break]

But a job's a job.

Paxton pulls the trigger again, trying to blow up one of the Gliscor's claws. Sure, Joules can take care of it, but he was tiring of how aggressive the damn thing was being. He didn't like being rushed, and he refused to fall in step with the enemy. [break][break]

As the casing goes flying, he hears hearing the grunt and the sound of something falling from on high. Joules issues a warning, and he moves back without looking. [break][break]

Tango for his part begins to TERASTALIZE, absorbing crystals and growing a strange hue as he tried to land NOT on Paxton. That becomes infinitely harder as the bird's SWAGGER hits and he feels a surge of anger before slamming onto the ground in a horrible crack. [break][break]

Paxotn can't mourn right now as the Rocket pushes in. He sees the knife, and he trusts his team to cover for him as he snarls at the sight. "No thanks." he raises the rifle up, less to catch the blade and more to simple deflect it, protecting his face with the bit of slack his strap had. [break][break]

Metal hits metal and Paxton shoves forward, intent on creating distance again between him and his assailant. Joules meanwhile does her best to keep the blood thirsty Gliscor away, one eye on Tango's unmoving body and beeping quickly to relax he was down.

Troy's no sniper. The rifle comes up, as that toad meets their end, and all he can do is feel it deflect, as the knife skates on the metal of the rifle. The sickening crack behind him would have brought him joy, but no joy is had. He just keeps his blue eyes on the sniper here, pushing the knife closer.[break][break]

Unfortunately for the toad, the sickening sound gets worse. Sirin begins to tear the body apart of the Toxicroak. Red eyes over towards the beeping Magnezone.[break][break]

She wants them to watch.[break][break]

Drac, on the other hand, continues to press the advantage, making sure he was between the Magnezone and the sniper. It's a game of keep away, and one that comes with a CRABHAMMER to bat the steel saucer out, as the trainer continues the assault.[break][break]

The knife may be blocked, but it's time to fight dirty. One knee moves towards the sniper's crotch, and if that doesn't work, a right hook to the side of the head. With the knife still in his left, that meant unless this guy has insane reaction time...[break][break]

Something was going to hit.[break][break]

"You do know this is your fault. Right?" They begin to taunt, getting closer, nearing his face.

Joules moves to the defensive backing away as they try to take out their opponent. A CRABHAMMER comes flying and they flash iridescent, beeping a fast, strange pattern that nobody seems to understand save for Paxton by the cock of his head. "You're uncreative." he says blocking the greater of two evils as he blocks the knee, gripping it tight with one hand against him, and grunting as the fist bangs against his head and makes a weird echo in his skull. The rifle clatters to the ground, but he's too focused on not getting stabbed. [break][break]

He tries to throw the Rocket before the knife can pierce at anything important, again trying to keep him from getting too close. Uncreative is little insult. Deathly precision needn't creatively spill blood, and Troy was ensuring the blonde kept taking it. He doesn't talk, instead aiming to kill over give another word. When he feels his knife slice skin, he can tell blood is spilled, but not as much as they were aiming for.[break][break]

In truth, Troy keeps slicing away, wanting to cut and tear and bleed out the opponent through tiny gashes, cut away at the form, and maybe leave one really nasty scar. So he keeps the dance going, with Drac falling back for a SWORDS DANCE to empower himself, the claws seem to grow a much fiercer shadow under the setting daylight...[break][break]

Sirin, instead of tearing Tango apart, dives in to ensure that Joules had not a moment to themselves, applying PRESSURE with a STEEL WING intent to knock the saucer out of position.[break][break]

No words. Just continuous, fluid motion. Aim for the head, but cut for the arms. Keep the guard guessing, keep the brain occupied. If he can't think, he can't make a clean exit strategy.[break][break]
