"Hello, nice to meet you! I'm Xiura," she said effusively, smiling at the man whose pace slowed to match hers in the dark. She took in her partner's appearance, noting that she was dressed similarly, in black clothes and an unadorned half-mask. As for concealment of her other definite feature, her long, wavy purple hair was tied back, curled up like a slowpoke tail, and concealed beneath a black beanie.

Xiura shook Troy's hand firmly and politely, her own hands bare of gloves. Beside her, her Sableye Jin crept along, his red gem-like eyes peering into the night, looking for any interlopers or threats with Detect.

In the meantime, Xiura was happy to make some small talk to lighten the mood, but her newfound partner's stoic demeanor dampened her tongue. She was perfectly fine with this, though. Her energy tended to wilt more easily during night missions since she was usually an early riser, so she thought some quiet time to reflect on their goal would help conserve her energy.

As they walked toward the second meeting place, Sableye scurried ahead, finally chittering softly as they came upon a Rocket grunt apparently ready to make the drop of further information.

The grunt watched them carefully. "Over and under the ocean depths," the Rocket began before falling silent, waiting for the answering phrase to confirm they were the Rocket agents designated to this mission.

"The blood moon shines silver," Xiura answered with the remainder of the passcode, before casting a glance at her partner.

The woman's posture relaxed marginally before she approached, her Serperior hissing with each slithering motion forward. In a low register, she stated, "You are to go to the League-aligned warehouse located two miles northeast from here. There, you must infiltrate their main strategy room and leave the following envelope. Do not open this envelope under any circumstances. It is of no use to you anyway."

Firm handshake. He notes the wavy purple hair tied in a ponytail, the half-mask, the clothe sin black. She was ready for the mission.[break][break]

Good. Better to not be slowed down that way. Though the duo would begin chattering lightly, a little chit-chat to lighten their mood, he shows he knows all the steps for idle chit-chat. But as they press on, his words grow more and more quiet.[break][break]

The Grunt appears and distributes the code. Xiura responds in kind. Some code phrase. It's for covert-ops, but even if Troy doesn't find it cute, he lets Xiura handle that. When given the mission objective, to infiltrate and leave the envelope within the strategy room, a brow raises. So it was intel obfuscation. Interesting. Something a little more interesting.[break][break]

"Understood." It's one word. Grabbing the envelope himself, he slides it neatly within his inner jacket pocket. And with it, he turns towards his partner for the mission.[break][break]

"How do you want to do this, Xiura?" He asks, brow risen, blue eyes watching for her facial expression- what little of it they can see.

Xiura closed her eyes briefly, thinking, then pulled out a map of the island. She traced a light, slowpoke tail-like path from their current location to the warehouse-–where it was supposed to be, two miles northeast. Sableye perched over her shoulder, looking closely.

“It’s best if we go with minimal ambient lighting to avoid being spotted. I think… we should case the place for at least a few minutes to see where the best entrance to go through is. There might be a back exit that someone comes out of every so often.”

She runs through a mental list of her Pokemon. “If it comes down to it, we can Teleport, as long as my Gardevoir knows where she needs to go. If we can get a visual of the strategy room, she can Teleport us in… but it might be less stealthy.”

“If we can at least get through to their main planning room, we can slip this in on a desk like it’s new intel and get out of there. What do you think?”
[break][break]
She thought a bit more. “Honestly, if we’re caught, we might have to pretend we’re there for something else, so that we don’t compromise the fake information. What do you think our alibi could be?”

As she spoke, they started heading in the direction of the League warehouse, Sableye wending his way through the dark forest.

Following Xiura, and nodding with the plan, Troy intends to at least play along for the time being, though a deft knife in a neck could easily work just as well. Though to her questions, the brunette responds in kind. She asks, therefore, they answer.[break][break]

"Teleporting out is the best means for escape." It also leaves the less amount of variability, as there's no need to worry about where the Teleport, as long as it is out and away. That would give them ample time. But as for in...[break][break]

"Putting it on a desk makes life easier... if needed, my Gliscor can dig a hole for us underneath the ground, destabilize their strategy room, and leave the letter for them." Two birds, one stone. Kill them and leave them misinformation that could be torn in the mishap. A not-so bad stratagem, but if they need an alibi...[break][break]

That one is hard. Troy doesn't think one is necessary, but it would be awkward to be caught with their pants down... as they continue on the path, ever-closer to the destination, they remain silent.[break][break]

"We reveal we're Rockets, and act as if we failed our mission to get information from the strategy room. Teleporting and leaving it behind." A last minute, daring escape? Perhaps an idea to make the heroes believe its some important piece of information.[break][break]

When in actuality. It is detrimental information in the end that leads nowhere.

“Okay, I agree.” The plan was set; they would make it into the warehouse by Gliscor’s abilities, but finish by Teleporting out. And if caught, they would pretend their mission was to steal information, not leave it.

They finally made it to the warehouse after some winding through the trees, their flashlights extinguished but the full moon lighting their path through the forest. Unfortunately, the moon also left them vulnerable to being spotted.

A copse of trees provided some cover from the lone guard keeping watch by the front door. At her urging, Xiura’s Sableye crept up to a side window out of sight of the guard, peeking into the various windows in the back and other side of the warehouse before creeping back to Xiura and Troy. He chittered quietly to Xiura, shaking his head. “Sable, sable, sable,” he repeated.

“He doesn’t see the strategy room itself through any of the windows, which means it might be a central one. None of the windows are open, either. Can Gliscor get us into one of the rooms near the back, away from the guard?” she asked.

Ah. The warehouse in general. With it, trees holding their cover, Troy would stare at the lone guard who watched the front door. The first thought that enters his mind is execution, and as he pulls the gloves down, he waits kindly for the Sableye's return.[break][break]

"A single guard can help us with an alibi." Stalking through the night, he releases his Gliscor with a nod.[break][break]

"Tunnel in. 180 degrees from this spot deep within. While I handle this." The Gliscor, quietly begins to rip into the ground, tearing away and burrowing inside, as Troy stalks towards the front door, nary a sound.[break][break]

Until the sickening crunch that permeates the air.[break][break]

Three minutes of digging go by. Troy returns, holding up a pair of keys. "An alibi makes all the difference."

Xiura looked at surprise at the keys, and nodded. As they had discussed, an alibi would increase their chance to fool the League into believing their misinformation was real. With the guard taken care of, they walked over to the Gliscor’s tunnel and crawled through into the warehouse. Poking his head out, Sableye peeked around for any roaming guards. Thankfully there were none. Xiura pulled herself out after her Sableye, the two keeping close together.

Footsteps sounded nearby, but they were muffled. Hustling over behind a stack of boxes, Xiura spotted a woman coming out of an inner room. In the brief span of time the door was open, Xiura thought she saw a map hung up on the wall with different-colored flags, likely to demarcate the positions of the factions.

“That must be it,” she said quietly to Troy. Sableye scurried up to the door and listened through it for any other sounds. He signaled that all was quiet. “Shall we?” she asked.

With all quiet and secure, it meant they could travel unabated and unimpeded. Well, at least for a time. But with Xiura and her Sableye taking care of that, it meant they had a straight shot; get in, place the misinformation within their stock, and port out. It's easy as day. But it wouldn't be enough. Not exactly.[break][break]

Things don't fall according to plans, and Drac's dug hole creates a quandry. For one, now there needed to be a reason for the hole, or it would be too obvious. So, once they get into the strategy room, Troy knew what he'd do.[break][break]

Once the information is deposited? He starts to rip open some stationary to their other missions. This gives a place for the hole now. They were just here to steal information.[break][break]

Two birds with one stone, Troy begins reading what he steals, and lets it fall onto the table.[break][break]

"Ready to go?"

Xiura nodded at Troy. “Ready.” It was immensely clever of Troy to create an alibi, a red herring for the League to pursue rather than realize that misinformation had been planted.

She recalled her Sableye into his Pokeball and called forth her Gardevoir instead. Gathering Troy and his Pokemon close, she asked Gardevoir, “Teleport us out of here.”

With a flash of psychic energy, they appeared outside the warehouse, several meters away, but a sudden shout from back inside the building meant that the League had been alerted to their presence.

With the dark of night to cover their tracks and Gardevoir’s occasional Teleports to throw pursuers off their trail, Troy and Xiura disappeared into the night, undiscovered.
