"I knew it." she says as her eyes harden, the sunlight causing her to squint a bit as she adjusts to the levels of light that was just introduced into the field. [break][break]

"That timeline I visited was accurate.." she said as she recalled her the scenes she observed there. "That world isn't what you want Matias!" she says growing slightly more desperate in her tone as she finally understood it all. "Listen to me! It's gonna bring you nothing but pain and suffering! You're ok with being groudon's puppet?!" [break][break]

She had to act if she hadn't gotten the jump on him she'd lose. She tightens her grip with her free hand as she prepares a defensive stance with her sword. "I take no joy in this. Cobalion, Meloetta, incapcitate him. Smeargle, do what we talked about." she says as suddenly the energy smeargle stocked up from TAKE HEART activates and smeargle starts to use GLACIATE, but instead of aiming it at Matias it instead looks to spread the frost outwards from himself, attempting to encase parts of the area in ice. [break][break]

Cobalion stares at Matias, unleashing his PARALYIZING gaze onto the man as Meloetta lends it's aid attempting to lull him into an endless dream with SING. [break][break]

But she was aware it would never be that easy.

the ghost-type grabs matias by the collar of his shirt and flings him back. he slams into the ground, the impact of which starts to free him from his PARALYSIS.

A Gengar the song from luring Matias into a deep slumber, and something told Melody it's primary focus was going to be that as it would incapacitate Matias. [break][break]

She stares down the ghost as she sees that Matias is starting to purge the paralysis from his body. She takes advantage of him recovering by recalling her Smeargle into it's ball. She knew him well, he was going to strike back twice as hard. "I'm doing this for your own good Matias. Just like you did for me when I was poisoned. Please believe me." as she starts to become more theatrical and dramatic thanks to the sygnasuit activating with her Baile-style Oricorio who took to the field. [break][break]

The onslaught begins, Oricorio uses mirror move on cobalion to copy the paralyzing glare the sword of justice gave Matias and continue to ensure he was stuck. "I can't let you move or else you'll instantly win against me." she tells him honestly. She knew the moment she gave him autonomy over his body she'd lose as he'd start to manipulate the terrain around them both. Cobalion rushes forward, unleashing a SMART STRIKE on the gengar to ensure it wouldn't miss the trickster ghost type, Meloetta in the mean time uses ROLE-PLAY on oricorio to copy DANCER. [break][break]

Knowing Matias however he'd have other pokemon around ready to jump her so she starts to use QUIVER DANCE to enhance her special defenses and her speed and Meloetta copies it and unleashes a Psychic on the Gengar as well.

his only saving grace is the land they fight on. this is his domain, and it becomes evident by how the surrounding pokemon seem to react in a certain way, as though they've been trained to do as much.[break][break]

what helps , however, is how wide the land is. his ranch is but a mere dot on a map of the route, surrounded by dense trees and mountain ranges that make it the perfect defensive hold.[break][break]

so as his pokemon flock to his aid, they will take some time to reach him.[break][break]

the first that arrive are two tauros, flanking each other as their ZEN HEADBUTTS ram into cobalion, freeing gengar to recover from the prior SMART STRIKE.[break][break]

the ghost-type floats back, dipping into the shadows only to reappear by matias' side. its tongue unfurls, spilling onto the ground as it reaches into its mouth for a GENGARITE. gengar fastens it into the MEGA BAND around its trainer's shoulder, giggling as it MEGA EVOLVES.[break][break]

matias, however, remains PARALYZED, and no matter how hard he may struggle, he cannot seem to break free.

The Zen-headbutts slam into both sides of Cobalion, he looks like he wants to cry out from the pain but he remains steadfast and silent. [break][break]

He's pinned down, he cant move as the tauros keep him stuck and he can't move. "Spikey shield!" she orders as metal coats his body and begins to spike up to fend them off. Her thrash's back against them with the spikes as Melody focuses on the gengar, it mega evolved now meaning that her team is stuck in place. She stomps her feet a bit as she does a flurry of quick steps that cause feathers to appear that move towards the tauros as she uses FEATHER DANCE in an attempt to weaken them (Meloetta also copies)[break][break]

She had no idea what this gengar was capable of which made him a threat. "Meloetta!" she calls out as it uses the quiver dance enhanced psychicon the gengar in an attempt to push it away from Matias lest the pokemon rouse him out of the paralysis. [break][break]

Oricorio uses mirror move again to support Meloetta's psychic attack.

all he has to do is to stall because he knows their encounter will soon be interrupted. it has to be. and if not, then it speaks to a bigger truth and would only justify all of his concerns.[break][break]

the two tauros continue their assault on cobalion, ensuring that the sword of justice is effectively kept out of the battle with a pompous SWAGGER as well as TRASHING to keep it at bay.[break][break]

but that leaves gengar to deal with two opponents. the empowered PSYCHIC flings the ghost-type away from its trainer and as it tumbles in the air, spinning like a circus act, it lets loose a PERISH SONG.[break][break]

and with its SHADOW TAG, it knows there is no escape.

She had to continue to step it up a notch, she couldn't let him make a fool of her especially when his pokemon aren't even being ordered. "I'm not gonna lose to you! Not again!" she yells at him "I WILL save you from that damned orb Matias! If your dream comes true so many people! So many pokemon will die!" she yells at him, unsure if he could even hear her over the PERISH SONG being sung as Melody's eyes widened. [break][break]

Cobalion Is slammed into with the THRASH as the SWAGGER hits him directly and causes the CONFUSION and STRENGTH BOOST. She sends out another pokemon, a new addition to the fight as Melody's pokemon's prankster activates and all their abilities are changed to DANCER. She clicks her heels and a spotlight comes over her. "This is for your own good Matias! I'm going to save you!" she shouts as Melody kicks up a REVELATION DANCE. [break][break]

All her Pokémon immediately start to dance as energy of their primary typing is sent towards the GENGAR in a cascade of light. Meloetta aiming hers towards the Tauros that was attacking Cobalion with THRASH since Normal typing would do nothing. Oricorio then unleashes a FEATHER DANCE that is then also copied onto the tauros to greatly drop their attack. [break][break]

"Even if it kills me!" She says as COBALION'S JUSTIFIED activates as true justice for Matias was not death, but in saving him. Saving what little of their friendship might remain after.. Cobalion leaps into the air and unleashes it's THUNDER WAVE attack onto gengar.[break][break]

It was merely to try and keep it in place as Meloetta is the one who will be the star today. It sings a beautiful song to unleash it's PSYCHIC attack onto Gengar in an attempt to try and keep it down. She needed to knock it down before the perish song count finished or else she'll be in a pinch.

strangely enough, when trapped in a desperate position as he struggles to regain control of his own body, it is not GROUDON'S pokeball that he searches for. his eyes betray him as he looks north to the woods, searching for something else entirely that never comes.[break][break]

stuck THRASHING, his two tauros are unable to do much beyond continuing their rampage. similarly, struck by THUNDER WAVE, gengar's action is void as PARALYSIS hinders it.[break][break]

Meloetta focuses again on Gengar, using PSYCHIC and unleashing a psychic onslaught against it and Oricorio uses MIRROR MOVE to copy the PSYCHIC but attempts to use it on the Taurous to make sure they don't jump Melody directly. If she was able to get close enough to him she'd reach for the Gengar's pokeball. But knowing Matias, there was a final barrier that might halt her progress as she makes a lunge to reach for it.

to 's surprise, there is no final barrier that stops her from reaching gengar's pokeball that fits so delicately on his belt, almost taunting her to reach for it.[break][break]

with gengar left having to deal with ACID SPRAY and both his tauros stuck in their THRASH and held back by PSYCHIC, matias is left on his own.[break][break]

She makes it. She recalls the gengar quickly and then orders her pokemon back into their pokeballs to remove the perish song. She sighs and relaxs a bit as she falls backwards. The DESOLATE LAND heat was getting to her and she was starting to run out of stamina "You saved me...I save you now.." she says as she dramatically breathes between statements. [break][break]

"God DAMN turn off the heat you FUCKER." she says pinching his arm in a moment of anger as she hated feeling sweaty despite living in hoenn. Her pokemon are exhausted as well and start to slow down as hopefully the taurous did. However, her short sighted plan was about to come to a screech hault as she had no idea what to do with him now.
