But he paused, frowning, before turning so he could whisper in bryan delarosa's ear instead. His voice was still calm and level, but he gave a suspicious squint to the tree and the general forest around them.[break][break]

"Hey man. Can your deer hear us from here? If it can, is there somewhere we could talk without it?"[break][break]

If Bryan were to look over, it would be a worry and a fierce protectiveness buried in Tempest's eyes. A fire burning, a promise to shield Bryan from whatever was hurting him. Even if it was what many called a god, was his very own Patron.

He pauses for a moment as temp expresses some sentiment of concern, however a surge of emotions rushes through his body. "N-No!" was all that slipped out before he regains his composure and quickly dons his tough man persona again. [break][break]

"No. He can't hear us, I-" he says as he realizes part of him didn't want to answer out of fear of what Xerneas thought. What if he COULD hear him? What if it retaliated against him for it? [break][break]

When did he start to think these types of things? When did he start to fear what Xerneas thought of him? All of the recent opinions he had been hearing over and over again had fertilized the seeds of doubt. Isaac Merlo, Zev Harcourt, elijah gardner's original argument with him. It all coalesced into a cacophony of words that he had enough of hearing. He starts to dig in his pockets looking for a cigarette to cope with the suddenly overload he felt. [break][break]

"My relationship?" he repeats "I uh.I guess an...overseer? A teacher?" he says but in truth he wanted to answer as the realization dawns on him, a means to chain him down. It had been abundantly clear that during his fights in the event dubbed resurfaced treasures, the creature stopped him from fighting when he wanted to continue. "I viewed him as a friend. I guess to him i'd be more like...a child?"

It's gentle, with him. Not the kind of pitying gentleness like bryan delarosa was weak or might break with the lightest touch. But with a forced gentleness, said between gritted teeth. for Tempest's own benefit. The papers on his clipboard wrinkle under his fingers from his own tight grip on them.[break][break]

Tempest takes a deep breath to calm himself, sharp brown eyes burrowing into Bryan with that same fierce look.[break][break]

"Does it hurt you?" It comes out in a rush. It comes out wrong. Temp clears his throat, quick to course correct.[break][break]

"Not physically. Like, your mind? Your feelings? Your confidence? Even if it's not on purpose, that's not good, Bry. You don't deserve to be treated like that."[break][break]

He searches into the ground before some vines emerge slowly from the ground. It was not graceful by any means but he started to fidget his hands together to have the three come together into one. "This. This serves rocket, these abilities that it gives me. Nothing else matters." [break][break]

He snaps out of his strange chance "Is there any other questions? less subjective and more objective ones?"
