Hattori's strike is true. Sacred liquid spills out of Xerneas's body, plant life spurting out where the blood touches on the ground. [break][break]

Xerneas grimmace's and quickly uses it's infinity energy to restore the wound almost immediately, causing a gash to appear on Bryan's back instead as he screams in pain but continues to fight on within the Briar. Xerneas knew this would happen and has to move away quickly, moving one of his hoofs to a vine to disspear quickly and position himself away from the tiny ninja. [break][break]

Xerneas knew they were outnumbered and had to thin out the heard slightly as he decides to take his revenge on an unsuspecting pray as the temperature in the room drops slightly and the deer manfiests on top of the black briar cage and he shoots an AURORA BEAM onto the noctowl as a cascade of colors and ice barrage the bird's body. [break][break]

The PSYCHIC attack from the noctowl still hit's Kommo-o in tandem with the paralyization causes kommo-o to stand still in place, being unable to do anything but recover from the attack. [break][break]

As the gash manifest's on Bryan's back, there's an opening in his defenses Navy can capitalize on that sends Bryan flying back. He was shocked that a man in one of those sygnasuits could even remotely compare to his strength. Navy roars with a draconic like fury in his eyes as Bryan can almost make out scales on his skin, unsure if it was a hallucination or reality. [break][break]

He sinks into the vines for safety as he looks to re-orient himself and attack Navy from his blind side, emerging from underneath him to pick him up and then quickly tries to drop him onto the ground and pin him. "You. Aren't. SHIT." he yells at him as images of the fire he unleashed upon littleroot return to his mind for some reason.

Beneath the earth, in this ruin where impossible dreams become reality, a frog dances with a deer. There can be no stillness in the dance. Momentum is everything. Momentum carries the deer away, placing him atop the mound of twisted thorns. It looks down below, streaking an Aurora Beam towards Archivald. That beam spells his doom.[break][break]
Hattori is faced with a choice. MATIAS SILPH forged him into a creature that could make that choice. Scorched black by Groudon’s flames, his eye pivots between the dragon and the owl. From his perch, he fires an ice beam of his own. It is not the multicolored kaleidoscope of power Xerneas fires, but it is enough – enough to pivot the trajectory of the beam. Enough to slam the deer in the back, to remind it that a shinobi with a burning heart will not leave it alone. Not with everything that is at stake.[break][break]
Archivald is frozen solid. There is no grand death. From where Arthur stands, consumed by another dragon’s rage, it looks like the owl has simply stopped moving. Too late does he realized it has been frozen solid inside. All of its organs, from its heart to its brain, have simply stopped moving. Xerneas has sapped all warmth from the Pokemon. Archivald never even knew he died.[break][break]
“GRAAAAAAAAH!” Arthur howls. His own rage is righteous indignation. Kommo-O are creatures with noble spirits. They are warriors who stand against the darkness. Grief drives his left fist, the one that remains free, into the hardened scale armor of the shadow Pokemon. Taking advantage of the weakened shadow beast, Arthur slams his fist into him again, and again, and again.[break][break]
His drain punch saps strength faster than a leech seed can drain vigor from him. This battle beneath the world grows hotter still.[break][break]
Through his sync stone, Arthur sees what Navy sees. He sees a dragon that does not stop clawing at his foe. Caught in the black briars, pinned by Bryan, he struggles. The avatar is drunk on the power of a god. He relishes in his strength. Relishes in the Lifebringer’s healing abilities. Navy sees none of that. In that moment, Xerneas doesn’t matter. Rocket and League don’t matter. All that matters is Bryan, and that he is the foe Navy must destroy.[break][break]
If Bryan would play the role of a monster, then Navy will play the role of a dragon. Pinned, with his arms down by his side, a coat of draconic energy covers the sheriff’s head. For a split second, beneath the shadows of his hat, his eyes appear golden. They carry the cold, reptile fury of Vortigern. He slams his head up against Bryan, even as he feels the tendons in his left arm tear. It destroys the arm, just a bit more, for him to reach up to the man.[break][break]
His legs kick. Every part of him is an active participant in this outrage. His shallow, ragged breaths are the only answer he gives. His body slips amidst their mingled blood. Though he is a mere man, he will not stop. Cannot. Bryan’s world is defined by strength, and that is a game the sheriff is happy to play.

Bryan had finally met his match, the spar with Zev Harcourt was a stalemate previously. Neither one could hurt the other in a meaningful way. An unstoppable force vs an immovable object. [break][break]
But this battle was different. [break][break]

The man slithers out of his grasp like a prey escaping the jaws of a predator as he starts to tilt the battle ever more in his favor. He uses one of Bryan's own strategies against him, injuring his body to get in a decisive strike. Bryan is sent reeling back as he's dazed from the attack. He's reeling as it seems like regardless of what Bryan did, Navy wouldn't stop. [break][break]

His will rivaled that of a god in Bryan's opinion and it revealed a side of Bryan he hadn't shown in a long time, one he thought was long gone. [break][break]

His fear of death. [break][break]

The scared little farmer's boy in littleroot who just wanted to know the love of his parent's gaze. [break][break]

The room shakes as the black briar begins to wither and Bryan collects himself, or tries to. Navy's assault is relentless and isn't giving him time to recover. [break][break]

Xerneas feels the black briar's power fade and he's struck from behind again by the pesky frog shinobi. Xerneas's attack lands it's mark, creating a peaceful and sudden death for the noctowl and he re-evaluates the situation. Bryan is taking a lot of his energy supplies and making little progress in return. They needed to leave, at this rate the longer they stayed the more chances of them being captured and imprisoned became more likely.[break][break]

Xerneas dissapears into the vines again as the barrier begins to waver and sees Bryan and Navy, it tries to ram into Navy from behind with HORN LEECH. to restore it's health but in reality it was just to move Navy away from Bryan. "We are leaving." and for once Bryan does not argue, he recalls his Kommo-o into it's ball as the drain punch sucks the last bit of life. [break][break]

He doesn't even say anything else to Navy, simply just running away and dissapearing into the nearest plant life he could find. [break][break]

The prey and the predator swapped positions that day.

He advances.[break][break]
Bryan’s blood drips from his mouth, pooling in the beard beneath. A broken left arm drags behind him, throwing off the cadence of his stride. Step by step, he follows Bryan. It is the slow walk, that of a golden-eyed predator toying with prey. His heart burns, blazing bright against the darkness of the ruins. His eyes shadowed by a hat.[break][break]
Step by step, he follows.[break][break]
Hattori, as always, proves Navy’s salvation. When a god tries to ram the weakened mortal, Hattori saves his Lord with another substitute pulling him away. It saves this battle from escalating. The wolf is allowed to fall back towards Rocket’s lines. Arthur prowls, feeling the rage in Navy’s chest.[break][break]
Terror reigns in Hattori’s eye. Terror for his Lord. Terror for what he has become. Looking up at him, the frog does the only thing he can think to do: he hugs the human. Hugs him close. Prays to whatever gods Pokemon pray to that the kind, compassionate man Melody loves so well will come back. He prays that the Ideal of Navy will trump the Truth of Michael Navidson.[break][break]
“Hattori?” Navy asks, as if waking from a dream. Coughing, he spits Bryan’s blood from his mouth. “I really lost it there for a minute. Arceus.” Slumping down, he rests against a wall.[break][break]
“I think….think I won, huh?” That’s his job done. Pressing a button on the device in his ear, he broadcasts a brief message to the rest of the League lines.[break][break]
“This is Navidson. Delarosa’s out of play. Repeat, Delarosa retreated.”[break][break]
After a time, he stands. Stumbling out, he walks to the beach. The others are inside, facing whatever awaits them. He still doesn’t know what this was all for. He busies himself on the beach, searching for survivors. He tries to forget the monster he became, locked in those black briars.
