He can't say he's seen annalise henderson during RESURFACED TREEASURES. Though, he doubted she'd want to go into it so fresh out of her captivity. Rocket were not known to keep personnel in captivity, alive, for so long. There fact that they made it to her before the worst could happen is fortunate. [break][break]

Still. Paxton doesn't bring this up with her, merely offering a small nod and an offer for a cup of coffee before they disembarked. Their little boat moves out of Evergrande City into Route 128. This was near enough where the previous sea exercise had happened. Maybe they could find some clues ass to what happened or if the beast on the loose was following a set pattern. [break][break]

Paxton shakes his head at the ship rocks. "No. Me neither." he said, letting the silence sit untouched. After a moment he decides to just give his brief. "We're near where Kyogre's exercise took place. Along with keeping the titan from drawing too close to the coast, we want to collect data on it." he said looking at the churning waters, dark blue with growing white foam.[break][break]

"More importantly, we want to know if and when it changes from using infinity energy to primal. Kyogre is big enough has it is without the influence of it's primal form." he said. [break][break]

"We also are trying to pinpoint a pattern." For what? He couldn't say, but its belter to know its habits now that it was awake and unleashed. "Though, I've heard, most places see the ocean churning with or without the whale popping up."

[break][break]she turns back towards the ocean, leaning her forearms on the railing. it reminds her of the hunt for the mirage island, of illeana reyes and mint frost creating a situation as equally as chaotic as hunting a god. her short hair whips in her face, but she doesn't have paxton concordas 's privilege of tying it up and out of the way anymore. [break][break]she gives him the respect of turning back to face him when he begins his brief, quietly digesting the mission at hand.

He nodded looking up at the gray skies above. “Sure. Get your ride ready.” He said as he directed the boat closer to the small spits of land available on the route. He wonders if they're sandbar islands but then ignores it and pushes forward. Ironically, the close they got to anchoring down, the stronger the sudden downpour. [break][break]

He jumps onto wet sand as a horrifying roar echoes through the short cliffs around them. And not far, between the cliffs, Kyogre surfaces raising waves and smacking into the rocks before angrily blasting debris away with ORIGIN PULSE. [break][break]

“There! Let's see if we can get a tracker on it.” The most delicate instruments were left on the boat. Now it's just getting the beast to turn around and head back out into deep sea and away from the isles and the coast. Joules begins to set up as defense, whirring loudly as they moved behind and aimed a bright ZAP CANNON. They were betting a fight would lure it out further than make it turn tail. Paxton gets his flier ready and gives a thumbs up to Annalise. “Don't get reckless out there.” He warned before preparing to do what he did best: shoot shit.

[attr="class","body"]annalise follows paxton concordas off the ship, pushing wet hair out of her face as they brave the sudden storm. kyogre's roar rings through rain-choked air and the storm worsens in reply. she squints through the downpour to make out the legendary pokemon's shape between the cliffs, then nods to her partner. [break][break]as his magnezone charges its zap cannon, she calls out her togekiss. the fairy-type puffs out his feathers uselessly against the rain, then lowers himself down so his equally soggy trainer can clamber onto his back. she turns her head to look at paxton, heeding his warning with a solemn look. [break][break]"i'll try not to," she says, skirting around any real promises. and to her togekiss, she commands him to fly with a "let's go!"[break][break] she directs her togekiss over the cliffs, then drops any pretense of attempting to not get reckless. they twinkle suddenly, distractingly bright even against the storm. kyogre turns its attention away from joules, attracted by the fairy-type's follow me.[break][break]several blue orbs manifest in the air where kyogre resurfaces, then fire out as more beams of origin pulse. the pair dive behind a cliff, then togekiss reappears. riderless.

Annalise and her Togekiss take off and he takes what reassurance he can get before setting to work. Bait Kyogre away, and send it back into open sea. The bait takes and Paxton lets out more pokemon to help supplement their forces while Annalise tries to maneuver. [break][break]

His Porygon and Octillery make an appearance as Joules sets up a ELECTRIC TERRAIN. Streenstrup locks in to blast BULLET SEEDS at the retreating figure while Hopper blasts a TRI-ATTACK hoping to help paralyze the legendary. Waves crash around them splashing the group and threatening to push them into churning waters. [break][break]

As they maintain the assault, Annalise disappears behind the rocks and…doesn't come back out. “Henderson? Report in. I lost your visual.” He said quickly into his comms, hoping he didn't have to race to grab her. She couldn't be downed already?

"reporting," annalise replies back instantaneously, her voice fuzzy with static interference from the storm raging overhead. "i'm using omelette to distract kyogre so i can get a tracker on it. can you keep it, like, more distracted?"[break][break]the rocks beneath her sneakers are precariously rain-slicked as she works her way around the cliff. origin pulse lights up her path as kyogre continues to follow her pokemon's lure. togekiss does as she instructed, keeping the enraged god distracted like a laser pointer. [break][break]paxton concordas had made her promise to not do anything reckless, but the tracker in her jacket pocket begets reckless decisions. she comes back into his view, her short hair clinging in wet strands around her face. [break][break]all she has to do is get close enough.

He sighed in relief when he heard Annalise's voice, as shaky and full of static as it was. Good, she's not stuck in the undertow. "Got it, I'll keep the beast occupied." he said into hi comms before looking at his pokemon. "Keep Kyogre's attention on us!" he ordered. Easier said than done. The whale seems like it's about to dive, opening its cavernous mouth and roaring in anger. [break][break]

The monster summoned multiple WATER SPOUTS, water shooting up in the ocean around him. Joules screeches a warning, shooting out a powered up ZAP CANNON while Kyogre attacks everything and nothing at all. Hopper uses PSYCHIC trying to redirect the WATER SPOUT back at Kyogre itself. And Streensstrup attempts to still part of the beast with SHADOW HOLD for Annalise and Omelette. [break][break]

"Annalise, aim for the right from fin! Trying to steady it for a plant!" he said over the radio, hoping she could get the gist of it as shadows coalesced around said legendary's body part.

"thanks," annalise replies into her comms, sounding distracted. her eyes are fixed on the path below her, on every salt-slicked stone that threatens to slide her footing out from under her. she looks up, squinting against the squall, as kyogre roars, trapped between the teeth of a shadow hold. even the maelstrom surrounding the god grows sluggish within the pin. [break][break]annalise whistles for her togekiss to return, his follow me ebbing away as he zooms back to join his trainer. one hand feeling for the cliff, she transfers herself from the damp ledge to his back. [break][break]kyogre turns an eye to her as they float down to the right fin as paxton concordas commands, helpless to satiate its urge to bite her and her pokemon in half. [break][break]"sorry," she whispers, reaching into her pocket. her togekiss trembles, putting tenuous faith in the shadows stretching over the leviathan. she urges him lower and lower, leaning over his side once its within arms length. brushing greedy shadows out of her way, she puts the tracker on. [break][break]
"go!" togekiss pulls up with a jerk as kyogre frees itself from the shadow hold. it thrashes below them, summoning more water spouts and whirlpools in its rage. [break][break]with a boost of extreme speed, annalise returns to paxton's side, landing heavily in the sand. she takes a ragged breath, the dump of adrenaline catching up with her. [break][break]"i think i got it. can you check?"

Kyogre rips through the shadows, and his Octillery flinched as the beast roared and blast an ORIGIN PULSE directly at the insulting octopus pokemon. Streenstrup s blasted into a nearby sand dune under the screeches of a thrashing pokemon. He returned her as Joules prepared a PROTECT to cover him and Hopper TELEPORTed in front of the Kyogre to keep it pushing forward and not towards the ants on the beach. Who knew for how long one lone Porygon could hold its attention though. [break][break]

He can barely do anything to help Annalise's rough landing. He moved to help her on her feet, clasping a hand on her uniform's sleeve to yank her to her feet and steady her there. "You two ok??" he asked letting Annalise catch up with it all as he looked over her partner. His other hand checks the little gps device, and after a moment to recalibrate, a dot representing the sea monsster appeared on their radar. "Yeah, for now. Let's get the fuck out of here." he said before adding quickly, "Good job out there." he let go of the blonde to clap his hand on her shoulder in praise.
