"Move! Deeper into the woods! We need to out run this."

He hadn't expected things to be so... abrupt.

"W-woah!" He yelped the moment his focus came back to him, his body rocking atop the moving Cyclizar wildly.

The experience was not at all like riding a bike— the thing rocked way too much for such a comparison, no matter how many bike handles the people of Paldea attached to their pokwmon. Was this why specific saddles were used...?

That useless line of thought was brought to a crashing halt by the booming sound of micro-eruptions in the background, it not too unlike thundering in the distance— just a lot louder, and a lot hotter.

"Roger that!" He shouted back to Greyson, glancing over his shoulder for a moment as he adjusted his grip on the dragon beneath him before turning his gaze to the jungle they were now running through. "Let's hope it doesn't start burning before we're through!"

Or at the very least, that the fire didn't catch up to them.

As a familiar roar tore through time and space and launched them into what Doug tentatively decided to call a wormhole, they found themselves standing before the by now familiar sight of the guardian of time, looking up at his imposing frame.

"Oh hey. You again." Doug said wryly.

The first time he had met this thing, he (along with several others) had tripped into a rip in time and space and had been summarily thrown back to proper reality after witnessing perhaps a few too many things.

The second time, it had tried to kill him on ninja's orders.

And this time, it...

"Goddamn it!" He hissed as it charged them, yanking onto his Cyclizar's reigns for some emergency evasive maneuvers—

Causing the dragon to nearly trip into its own face as the world rippled yet again, bringing them to another vista, far away from the effigy of Dialga.

A familiar battlefield stretched out before them. Galar as they had known it... or perhaps not?

Titans fought in the distance, destroying the tiny, nearby villages.

His eyes narrowed at the creatures in the distance, his hand reaching for his pokeballs as they continued to wreak havoc. It was all merely a simulation, but still—

"Hmm?" He uttered as Greyson's words dragged him out of his thoughts, turning his gaze over to the man.

He held a sword now— somewhat familiar. He turned his gaze over to the shield, scratching at his chin thoughtfully as he approached it, hefting it up before strapping it to his right arm.

"Yeah, that feels fine." He said after a moment, nodding at the other man.

He wasn't sure of what exactly he was supposed to do with these, though. Hopefully the shield alone came with its own power, like the weapons in Galar, because he certainly wasn't Zamacenta— a regular shield would help little against those titans.

And as if hearing those thoughts...

Absorbing the nearby metals strewn across the battlefield, the Zamazenta ascends to its regal form. As the Fighting Master's Shield, the gilded Zamazenta beckons for you to fight alongside it.[break][break]

Ahead, Dynamax Pokemon stomp across Galar like bloodthirsty titans. Eternatus fires a DYNAMAX CANNON toward your position.

[attr="class","snub-greyson"]Even though he knows its a simulation, there's a crushing weight — a pressure — that he simply can't shake. In the presence of these creatures, he was an ant. Less than that, even.

A beam of pure energy, tinged red and violet, paints the horizon sinister colors. His breath catches, and despite himself, he takes an involuntary step backwards.

It takes a second to register what he'd done. When it settles? His anger flares. Simulation or not, this legendary was stupid enough to attack a city under his protection.

It would learn what that meant.

"Ready?" He calls out over the roar of the crowd, and the incoming attack. Orbs burst and their contents free themselves. A half-a-dozen Comfey. Together, they create a grand working to a scale he'd yet to utilize himself.

A shield, in replica to the one in John Sullivan's hands, forms in-front of them. Made entirely out of vividly painted flower petals.

A beautiful way to die, if he ever saw one.

The Dynamax Cannon crashed into the barrier of flowers— and it held strong, its beauty untarnished by the overwhelming force threatening to turn them all into trails of ash.

"Ready!" Doug shouted back at the Elite 4, not letting himself get too distracted by the beauty before of the barrier.

He could express his admiration later.

His pokeballs flew, releasing a trio of bugs that quickly fell in line with the sprinting Zamacenta.

The shield had surged forth to attack Eternatus— Greyson's barrier had granted it a chance to take the offensive.

It's shield glowed as it charged, the steely mane spreading wide around it as its energy burst forth— and then exploded outwards as a trio of lights spun around the canine, bolstering its power to monumental heights—

With a boom, the sound barrier was shattered as Zamacenta launched like a missile unto Eternatus' flank—

The crash shattering every glass surface in the city as a following shockwave rippled across.

The simulation seemed to stop and stutter in its wake, an explosion spreading out and consuming everything with white.

The simulation states that the Pokemon is a Koraidon: a muscular, ferocious dragon able to break the earth with its fists. No other data exists pertaining to this Winged King. Curiously, it seems paired with you.[break][break]

A roar rattles down the tunnel. Another Koraidon stomps toward you in apex form, its fierce plume and twisted antennae flicking about like whips.[break][break]

You're in the middle of a territorial dispute and there's no way out.

After a few cautionary second he lowers the forearm and blinks at the new scenario. Two Winged Kings facing down one another, apex predators in the clash for a new home.

It was the type of primal energy that was infectous.

"I don't know about you, but I don't intend to let this fucker win." He turns towards John. "Do you?"

It was just one thing after another.

Koraidon, the Winged King. Wasn't that one fancy ass name—

"I've never lost a fight in my life." He lied as he breathed/jested, giving the Elite 4 a razor smile as his three bugs rejoined them.

Each of them sported an equally razor, equally shit eating grin as they began to clap their hands in unison, dancing around Greyson, his pokemon and their Winged King.

They were whooping this wannabe Alpha's ass; that was what it got for daring to look smug before them.
