"It's... you!" Andrea gasped.

She knew it! She had a gut feeling that the DRK Triad was somehow behind this RKS Simulation. Whenever there was a new trend everyone was suddenly into, it was usually the work of the DRK Triad.

The white-haired lady from the Tiered Tea Room was standing before them, but she was not alone. Her allies were hiding in the shadows. Her ultimatum was clear: Join them or face oblivion.

"I will never join the thing you just named!" The young PokéManiac defiantly replied. There was a chance this was all part of the simulation and she was just arguing with a deepfake, but she wasn't gonna yield to Hoenn's true enemy under any circumstances.

The girl sent out her Rhyperior along with a red Gyarados. This combo had served her well during her Gym challenge. "Donna, Earthquake! Whiskers, Waterfall!" She didn't intend to kill them, of course, just to intimidate them into submission.

fernando is content with spectating. for he has little interest in exerting his energy in a false reality. previous reports detail just how much impact they have, with only their path forward being of real consequence. as expected from a simulation.

watching andrea’s choice of pokemon jogs a memory of a battle long ago. one he can roughly put his finger on but not nearly enough to put a name to a face. so, he assumes the most likely possibility: the slateport gym.

“simply attacking will suffice,” he says finally, as the realm distorts.

An unexplainable feeling of unease washed over her as FERNANDO SILPH's voice rang in her ear. Cold and calculating as usual, the councilman appeared to know more about this simulation than he was letting on. "Have you done this before?" The young cosplayer asked.

There was no time to talk. The Hoennites were overwhelmed by the DRK Triad's forces, dozens upon dozens of Unown covering the red-scaled Gyarados' entire body like a swarm of insects. Donna tried to fend them off with a Megahorn, but she too was swarmed.

"Why aren't you doing something?!" Andrea yelled at the stoic Silph.

Suddenly, a question mark Unown fired its Hidden Power at the girl. Her vision went blank.

when the simulation settles, fernando finds himself following the obvious prompt. he’s not familiar with this part of mauville, but father winter sticks out like a sore thumb. he recognizes them from their previous encounter.

“feel free to take the lead,” he gestures, all too sure she’ll make the choice for them.

Andrea opened her eyes to a completely different scene than the one they were simulating before. Instead of the shadowy den of the DRK Triad, they were now in Mauville City. Father Winter appeared before them, doing his usual coin-flipping routine.

The girl's first instinct was to attack his as well, but fighting in the middle of a crowded city could lead to casualties. Whiskers could barely fit inside the alleyway as it was. Turning back to the Silph CEO, she asked "What do you mean there's no point?"

She decided to test his theory. Normally, she would have picked heads, because heads always shreds. This time, however, she went against her better judgement and called "Tails."

Suddenly, you think see a hovering UNOWN in the corner of your vision but before you can confirm its presence, it disappears. Turning back to the man, you notice that he too, has vanished... into a rift.

The original one. Could he mean Arceus? Before the young cosplayer could inquire further, the man in WHITE had vanished, leaving but a rift in his wake.

"It might be a simulation, but the danger is real. If we die here, we die in real life!" Andrea pointed out, while climbing on top of her Gyarados, holding unto the sea serpent's horns.

"Plus, I'm real and you're real." She added. "What if those DRK Triad members are real too, and they're just acting like they're simulations to bamboozle us?"

It would be just like the DRK Triad to do that, wouldn't it? Luring Hoenn's citizens into a fake VR game, only to take them out one by one.

She supposed it would be very bad for the League’s image if a civilian got mauled by a YETI or something after accessing the simulation. Even so, not wanting to look like a chump in front of the councilman, Andrea was determined to prove him wrong.

They were now in outer space, accosted by a being that looked just like the hand-like structures that had attacked them in The Cloud. If there was any scenario with a real possibility of dying, it should be this one.

“If what you’re saying is true, then you won’t have to save me.” The dragon-hooded girl shot Mr. Silph a defiant look, before jumping off her Gyarados, allowing the giant appendage to snatch her up.
