the drampa breaks through the dome. priam punches the air as if his fists could reach the dragon while his gabite stares at his trainer, waiting for a directive of sort based on priam's slightest body language and posturing.

"but i think you got the read on me wrong. i ain't here because i have some philosophical reason. i'm here 'cause fate said so."

that was the story of most rockets that had been in the organization since kanto. some may have adapted and shifted their opinions based on their circumstances, but priam remains in the middle, like every other grunt who believes they have no agency in the world.

priam turns to navy's pokemon, ready for another round with the drampa.

"ya wanna fight again?" he shouts. "we ain't backin' down anytime soon!"

Priam is answered by a dragon rather than a man.[break][break]
“GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!” Gramps’s hyper voice blasts outward in an explosive display of force. Navy’s faux grandsire, much like himself, is a premier hypocrite. He wanted to drift around, not get involved, and then got angry when events started passing him by. Gramps has arrived late to the party, full of piss and vinegar, ready to play catch-up.[break][break]
“Damn, that’s loud!” Kneeling, he speaks right into the receiver, holding his ear close so he can catch whatever Priam says back. It’s no fun, being down here, unable to see the battle.[break][break]
“You’re the kinda guy who believes in fate, huh? You think everybody’s got one set destiny?” Navy doesn’t believe in something cosmic like that. Destiny is a notion so far removed from day to day life as to be nonexistent.[break][break]
“Also, uh, not usually one to backseat drive, but can you shut Gramps up?”

it's always easy to blame something out of your control when life crumbles before your eyes, but deep down, priam knows that if he wants to get something, he has to take it himself.

it doesn't help that he usually isn't in the position to do so, however.

"if ya really want me to, then who am i to deny someone who asks me something only i can do at this very moment."

he turns to his gabite. "hey! it's showtime, round 2!"

the gabite doesn't really understand what his trainer was saying with drampa's hyper voice, but he knows what the expression meant. it nods and roars back, which wasn't audible as the other dragon's voice drowns every other noise in the area.

he runs up and dashes, ready to dragon rush its fellow dragon despite the unfavorable position. the action overshadows the set up of stealth rocks that remain unseen, ready to detonate once the drampa takes the bait and meets the gabite at the middle.
