Battle after battle, the wear and tear had begun to creep up on Noel. His endurance was starting to run out but still he continued on. There was a certain thrill in battle that he couldn't help but find excitement in, especially in these lighthearted tournaments. No matter the outcome, he was happy to be able to fight against both new and old rivals. A burst of energy springs out from within Noel, this was no time to rest, a new foe had emerged before him. Someone new to compare their strength to. With his Shaymin running from behind him and through his legs, the small hedgehog jumps up in joy, eager to battle.[break][break]

similarly, the wear and tear has started to affect cian as well, though he has a little more experience having been through the gauntlet that is the hoenn star tournament a couple of years ago.[break][break]

With a brief wave of his own hand, he introduces himself, "My name's Noel, and likewise. Let's get this started!"[break][break]

With a quick tap on the Tera orb on his belt, a surge of energy begins to develop onto his Shaymin, transforming it into its Grass Tera. The boost in power would surely help in this battle to come. Starting things off light, the small hedgehog would send an Earth Power through the ground, making its way to its opponent before the ground beneath the Froakie began to quake and erupt.

"aw shaymin's now all nice and shiny."[break][break]

it's like a walking disco ball which ends up blinding cian more than once. so, to alleviate that, froakie spits out a SMOKESCREEN, cutting out light entirely.[break][break]

this leaves it prone to EARTH POWER. it yelps out in surprise, doing its best to contend against the quaking earth as it fires a HYDRO PUMP at Noel Parker's shaymin.[break][break]

With the area around the frog Pokemon now concealed in its facade, Noel wasn't sure if their attack had landed or not. And so the Shaymin continued to send power running through the earth until suddenly a blast of harsh water comes shooting right out of the smoke. While it proved to be not as effective and causing not too much damage, it interrupted the hedgehog's concentration, ending their attack. With a shake of its head, it would retaliate with two Energy Balls, one to clear away the smoke and the other to shoot against the Froakie if they were still there.[break][break]

"You know, I once had a Froakie as well. They can prove to be valuable allies and it seems like you've trained this one well."[break][break]

"right? everyone seems to underestimate ribbit-san due to his size but it's not his fault that he's small. he was just born that way."[break][break]

froakie's SMOKESCREEN may have given it the advantage but it works both ways, also blinding it to the WEATHER BALLS which is how one ends up hitting.[break][break]

it croaks in pain, deciding to leap out into the open before charging straight at Noel Parker's shaymin to try and SMACK IT DOWN.[break][break]

The Froakie came in like a missile. Noel's Pokemon couldn't possibly have foreseen the frog to come out suddenly with a surprise attack. The hit proves to be successful, causing the small hedgehog to roll across the stage after a disheartening smack against its body.[break][break]

"Hmph, I feel the same way about alot of my Pokemon, especially this little guy here. It's not about how big you are, but how tough you can be."[break][break]

Standing back up after recovering from its opponents move, it decides to rush in as well, almost mimicking the water-type. Wanting to get up close and personal, it sprints forwards on its small legs and attempts a Zen Headbutt to even the playing field.

size does, however, play a factor at times, but not enough to make a difference. he's glad he met @hellboyroyan; he makes a mental note to ask him out for drinks later.[break][break]

It seemed as though this trainer had the same sort of feelings and ideas as his own. Noel was sure that the two of them would get along well and that they should properly introduce themselves to each other sometime. As for now though, they had a match to get through. And he wasn't about to go soft just because he grew fond of him.[break][break]

"Bring it home Shaymin!"[break][break]

As the two collided, the Shaymin bumps its head roughly against the Froakie's, staggering backwards dazed and confused. Shaking its head as if to recover its senses, it would fire off one more devastating attack. Glowing with power, energy would begin to harness from inside its body before being fired off in wavy projectiles in the form of a Seed Flare. If it could connect, this match was all but won, however the chance of a comeback was still very much a possibility.

The worst case scenario had arrived. Now down to the wire, Noel had begun to panic if only just a little. After everything he and his Shaymin had been through in this match, there was no way he would accept defeat. Something about Cian and his Froakie caused his competitive side to come out. And now all he could think about was winning.[break][break]

"Rrrgh... Shaymin... Use everything!"[break][break]

With the blast of water threatening to end it all, there was only one course of action left for the hog. Using the rest of its energy, it would open its mouth and with a shout, fire off a Solar Beam to match against the stream of water. While the two powers clashed, they seemed to go back and forth between the victor. Finally, Shaymin's attack is able to break through, however, the same was done with the frog's. The rush of water strikes against Noel's Pokemon, and while it braved the attack, it could only stand so long, before it gave out.

Taking way too much damage in this confrontation, the final attack from the Froakie was enough to seal the deal. The little hedgehog falls flat on the ground, fully unconscious and unable to battle any longer. Noel has a look of surprise on his face, before settling down and accepting the outcome with a smile on his face. He then returns his Shaymin back to its Pokeball and gives it an approving nod.[break][break]

"You did good out there... And you, that was a great match Cian. We could learn a thing or two from you and your partner."[break][break]

Walking forward, he would meet face to face with the winner of this match and put his hand forward, wanting to shake the hand of the man who gained victory this day.
