Now, who would they get to fight next? Lycanroc at least was ready, the shiny one briefly running up and down its side of the field to prepare. Lash, in the meantime, tapped her umbrella on the ground, a bit restless as she waited.

The other party was not late, of course. Lash had just finished early on the last one and was still in a ready-set mode that she was trying to keep up. Not that she was planning on trying to win this tournament overall. As hilarious as it would be for a school-girl looking one to win against all the strong people coming here.

But that would be too much attention. She did not want that. But she did want to surprise people by showing them some of the tricks up her sleeve, if they underestimated her. Speaking of, someone was coming. “Good evening, Miss. This is Lyca, I am Lash, and we are not here to lose, despite the alliteration.”

With Daikenki primed and ready for another go round, Yuina and the Samurott made their way through the walkways towards their next field for the coming match up. Turning the corner, and moving forward, Yuina looked to the young trainer that faced her now, and she introduced herself. She... was familiar...[break][break]

“You keep saying that, but I always think Alex,” she responded, still remembering how they met in mid-air back then. That girl had seemed familiar then, too. But apparently she wasn’t who Lash thought she was.

But eh, not her problem. She shrugged. This was a fight, after all. “Anyway, a good match indeed. And for that, I say we start with some Stealth Rocks!” Raising her hand, she ordered her Pokemon to do just that, shooting out rocks all over the field from its body in the hopes that the Samurott would trigger them somehow and take damage that way.

Well, that was the plan at least.

Yuina remembered now... And still wasn't sure how she should feel. The memory of their encounter came back clear as day as the girl insisted on call her Alex... She had been far enough away flying by on her Pokemon that Yuina hadn't gotten a super clear look at her face, but now it was very poignant who she was.[break][break]
"That's still not my name...," Yuina offered, maybe only a bit half heartedly... What if it was...? And yet, the very idea of broaching the topic made her blood run cold, not right now...[break][break]
"Daikenki, go," Yuina called as the field was littered with pointed stones. The Samurott barked and leaped into the shadows, using Shadow Sneak in an attempt to circumvent the obstacle and get in range. In that time, Yuina tapped the orb on her belt, and as Daikenki lunged from the dark depths, he was glittering in a brilliant blue crystal, taking on his Water Tera to strike with Razor Shell.

“You should sound more convincing when it comes to your name,” she replied, a bit confused at that tone of voice. Sure, she got it when people could not recognize her. Especially after her last success in ageing up a bit. But she had re-met this one after that, so it was no excuse. Plus, the girl seemed more confused about herself than anything else.

Still though. She had a fight at her hands. And given the shine of blue light enveloping her opponent, infusing that Razor Shell coming flying at Lyca, Lash really did not have the time to worry about that at all. This was a fight. “Bringing out the big guns already, aren’t we? Well, let me do that too,” she announced as she crossed her arms, the band on one of them gleaming. Striking a pose sideways, she ordered her Lycanroc “Show her what we can do, Lyca!”

The Lycanroc, having barely avoided the razor-like water thrown at it immediately howled out loudly, summoning even worse Splintering Stoneshards erupting from the ground as if it was at the centre of some kind of volcanic eruption and aiming them at the blue-hued foe from below and the sides.

In spite of how off putting the interaction is, Yuina knows that the battle is the forefront, and for better or for worse, maybe she wouldn't see this girl again... It had been some time already. There could be dozens of people that looked like her or acted like her, if she jumped at every opportunity to wonder if someone she was interacting with really knew who she was... She didn't want to think too hard about it. It was a lot to process...[break][break]
Instead, Yuina focused on the battle, the field covered in pointed stones, but the assault wasn't finished. The Lycanroc dealt a devastating hit and nearly ruined the entirety of the battlefield and made it all the more precarious as Daikenki did his best to remain poised on pointed stones as rock dug into his fur.[break]
He lunged again, aiming to strike true with another Razor Shell, gritting his fangs as the now dangerous playing field took its toll.

Now that was the desired result indeed! Lash did not exactly revel in the pain of Pokemon, despite her profession. She was a poacher, but she was humane about it. Sure, she did not go out of her way to make her victims comfortable, but neither did she do so just to be cruel.

But in battle? A success always saw her beaming a smile at what was happening. The stones impacted the Samurott with a satisfying sort of crunch, evidently dealing at least some damage. The other did not give up, of course, and tried to hit with that Razor Shell again. A dangerous move indeed and Lycanroc sought to dodge it once more. It was more difficult now, given that it had just unleashed its strongest attack.

But this was not the time to rest. This was the time to push the advantage. “Try to end it swiftly, before it can find its footing again!” Her order to the other was clear – and Lyca immediately surged forward, trying to Sucker-Punch the other out of the match.

As adept as he could move with the devastated battlefield, Daikenki kept his pace along the pointed stones and used the larger ones for vantage points to gain ground. The Lycanroc had dealt a truly powerful attack, but there was still a little fighting room left, the Samurott was going to take it.[break][break]
Glittering in his blue Water Tera, he rushed to close the gap and meet the Lycanroc in its strike, meeting the wolf's claws with his own blades coated in shimmering water for a Razor Shell attack that should strike true.

“Seems like you got some proper fight in you after all,” Lash replied, seeing the two Pokemon meet in mid-motion, exchanging blows. This time, her Lycanroc definitely was not able to evade the Razor Shell, meaning that it had to briefly fall back and lick its wounds, as to speak.

Sadly, her attempt to end this had been thwarted that way. But that just meant the fight wasn’t over yet. “Let’s try another Rock Slide, Lyca. Unlike someone I could name now we’re not going to just use the same move over and over and over,” she ordered with a bit of a smirk. Sure, it was a good and effective attack. But she always looked down on people trying the same thing over and over.

Sure, expecting different results did work, as this showed. Lash was just a bit pretentious like that. Some flair simply was needed, which was why Lyca flung some more jagged rocks at the opponent, albeit less than during the time she’d used the Z-Move.

As effective as the water type attack could prove, the canine still wasn't backing down, and they needed to try to turn the tides of the battle still.[break]
"Okay, we'll bite," Yuina returned, watching the open opportunity they had as the Lycanroc moved to cover the field in pointed stones once again. Daikenki sunk into the shadows with his Shadow Sneak to evade what he could of the onslaught, and coming out from the depths and his seamitars poised, the Samurott moved to meet the wolf again with a Sacred Sword, swiping and slashing in the close proximity.

“A bite? I should go and grab one after this. You want to join me…Yuina it was, right?” A bit of a peace offering was extended to the other by virtue of using that name. The girl was showing that she had some gusto here, after all. Unlike that last time they’d met where she had just let a suspicious kid through into restricted airspace.

Or maybe Lash was just hungry and figured that having someone else around would make it fun. But for now, combat had to end. She could feel that it would be over soon anyway. Yuina had come in with type advantage and terrastalization, so this was a terrible matchup anyway. Still they had done well, all things considered.

Besides, it was not quite over. “Let’s end this,” she ordered and Lyca complied, whirling around to the Samurott coming out of the shadows and trying to meet it straight head-on with its whole body at top speeds.

In a strange... Consideration that she was actually taking Yuina's words into thought, she referred to Yuina as... Yuina, and not Alex for the first time in their encounters. She wasn't sure if she should take it as kindness or that she was merely humoring her... It wasn't like they had any reason to be particularly friendly with each other...[break]
"Uhm, sure, maybe a quick snack before our next matches," Yuina returned, for now choosing to take it as at least neutral ground perhaps that they were landing on. Their battle had to conclude first though.[break][break]
The two Pokemon clashed, and Daikeni's sacred sword pushed the canine back, but only just as it moved in to rush the Samurott once more. Things were coming to a head, and the battle would be over shortly, it would all come down to Daikenki's ferocity as the water type rushed to meet the Lycanroc in its strides with his blades, striking with one last Sacred Sword.

The mighty blue terrastalized Samurott tried to meet Lycanroc head on, a contest of strength and determination between two fierce combatants, all ready to give their all in this fight of fights. She probably should have saved her Z-Move for the grand finale to have a more fitting end, but this was coming down to the line anyway. Despite type advantage, it was quite open as to which of them was going to win.

Well, in respect. In another, rock simply beat scissor.

Hence, the two met, exchanging blows, only to separate once more. It took a few moments to sink in, but eventually it became clear who won, with the Samurott presumably either fainting or being recalled anyway. Still, this certainly could have gone either way. So, ultimately, win or loss was a matter more for the bookkepers than anyone else.

Still though, she would take it. “Anyway, wonderful, then it’s a date. You got any preference or does the winner get to pick between us?”
