"And in this corner, an up and coming trainer fresh from Mauville City, Caesiiiiiiiiiii Nergal!!" The crowd roars as the brown haired girl steps out onto the arena, something that amused Xenon to no end. She smiles and waves up at the adoring public, knowing they would show the same level of excitement if a ten year old with a Swinub had appeared in her place, a truly pointless spectacle. But the fights were fun and this was her territory as a Rocket, so it only made sense that she would take the time to participate in the revelries while they lasted. And who knows, maybe she'd even win the whole thing. Wouldn't that be funny, the terrorist who's been terrorizing the city for half a year winning their biggest tournament, then revealing the truth to everyone as she rode away on black steel with trophy in hand?

Her laugh couldn't be more genuine as she stops at the center of the stage and awaits her opponent.

The crowd went wild again, which made Tempest flush a little. His own disguise was much simpler; painted on freckles, some colored contacts, and a new hairdo. But he still waved out to the people around him as they cheered. Ah, the rush of public battles like this... it was one of the few things he missed about being a Gym Leader.[break][break]

"I'm ready to go when you are!" He called out to Xenon Antheil, not recognizing her at all. Hati, his Eevee, hopped down from where she had been perched on his shoulder. The Eevee hopped around in place, eager and energetic for battle.

Perhaps it's for the best that neither recognize the other in their disguises, a truly authentic fight between two trainers looking to have a good time was by far more interesting than having to fight her boss and worry about beating his ass too hard.

Her Iron Jugulis emerges from its Pokeball and stares down at the little Eevee impassively, cold metal eyes analyzing the fluffball and picking it apart, already judging this fight to be an easy victory as the two trainers take their sides.

The referee raises his hand and Xenon tenses up, holding one arm behind her back and the other steady at her side as she narrows her eyes. Rhodium too stills as it floats in midair, not even the slightest wobble as invisible waves of gravity push away the dirt underneath it silently.

"Begin!"
[break][break]
Xenon's arm whips forwards and she snaps her fingers, the middle head of the Iron Jugulis opening wide and firing a Dark Pulse of energy right at the Eevee to try and take her out in one strike! But even if that one missed the other two heads wouldn't remain still for long, the left firing off a staggered Flash Cannon while the right breathed out a wave of Flamethrower to deter the little creature from getting close!

Three attacks launched at once. The Dark Pulse Hati hopped away from, nimble on her feet. The Flamethrower hit, but it only caused the bubble of Disguise from her Purified body pop. The last move, though, landed true. The Flash Cannon scorched her fur when it landed. She gave a little yelp of pain but didn't stagger.[break][break]

Tail lashing, Hati instead leaped right at the Paradox Pokemon, her body glowing with her own draconic energy. She attempted to slam, full body, into the other pokemon with a Dragon Hammer.[break][break]

Because Hati was a strange little pokemon for sure. All of her moves, her abilities, were nothing like what a normal Eevee might know.

The flash of steel strikes true and metal energy scorches the little thing's fur, an excited cheer rippling through the crowd as "Caesi" poses for the cameras with a wide V victory sign. But the battle was only just getting started as the determined ball of fur shakes off the pain and charges full force at Rhodium, a shroud of draconic energy suddenly enveloping the minuscule thing as she leaps forwards to slam herself right into Rhodium.

If a robot could look surprised than there was no doubt that this war machine would look very much so as it moves its wing plates in front of its body to shield itself, just managing to stagger the strike as its sent skidding backwards away from Hati, electronic beeps and whirs emanating from its speakers in a moment of reorientation. LED eyes flicker and the strange liquid within bubbles, three processing units communicate with one another and come to a definitive conclusion as they open their mouths and start firing at the ground, each blast leaving a scorching mark on the earth followed by an explosion of Earth Power hurling rocks at the Eevee.

Heat and earth surged for Hati. Temp, meanwhile, just had on a satisfied smile as he watched over his pokemon. His attitude was very different from the showboating the other Trainer across from him did. But that was okay; he wasn't trying to draw attention lest someone recognize him, after all.[break][break]

Hati dips and darted, tail still lashing, before she chattered one last time. Seeing the smallest of openings between the defensive she had been forced into- Hati pushed herself forward, her own flames sparking between her jaws. Soon, the flames of a Burning Jealously lashed out at the Paradox pokemon.

Flames break through the Paradox's offensive and rake across its metal chassis, a piercing hiss howling through the air as Rhodium immediately doubles back and fires off a few Flash Cannons to make some space. The Iron Jugulis would have to take things a bit more seriously as the lines of purple-pink across its body glow with a harsh light, a wave of electricity emanating from its body and covering the battlefield in an Electric Terrain reminiscent of its home.

Rhodium's Quark Drive hums to life as it opens its maws wide and lets loose a firestorm of Flamethrowers upon Hati, a scorching inferno of wrath with full intent to maim even in front of this large gathering of trainers and civilians alike. It was time to take off the kid gloves now.

Seeing the other Pokemon throw off the shackles of these ruled battles didn't scare Hati. It excited her. She jittered from paw to paw, giving one excited yip, before dancing through the electric terrain. The sparks danced off her fur as she tried to draw in closer.[break][break]

Because Hati was a Purified pokemon herself- but both of her parents were Shadow Pokemon. Vicious things, her raising had been just as cruel and strange. It was only thanks to Tempest's interventions she was totally warped. This kind of fighting was so familiar to her it was a relief.[break][break]

Hell rained down, scorching. But her mother was a Flareon, and Agni's temper had been just as fierce. She raced through the blaze, ignoring her scorching fur, her body shining with a white energy. Two copies danced in overlap, trying to slam into the Paradox pokemon with a Veevee Volley.

The way that this Eevee fights, it's unlike anything Caesi has dealt with in the past. The usual moves one would expect something of this maturity to know are thrown out the window in favor of these weird unorthodox maneuvers, totally catching Rhodium off guard as he charges through the fire and hits with some strange clone technique, another scorching strike that leaves the Paradox on the verge of collapse as it glares at the shiny Eevee disdainfully.

All it can do now is take to the skies and rain down hell on Hati with a barrage of Flash Cannons and Dark Pulses, trying to drown out that damnable light with overwhelming darkness and steel, regardless of strategy or calculation.

Hell rains down. Tempest raises up his wrist, allowing the Z-Crystal that is tied to a bracelet to gleam in the light for a moment.[break][break]

Hati still has a bit of energy, but it feels like the right time to try and use this.[break][break]

Glowing purple from the inside out, Hati gleams before turning pitch black. Only a wicked and shadowy grin left on her face before she seems to expand. The whole battlefield sudden turned into a black hole void- only darkness inside, even with the flames and fire.[break][break]

Then it all explodes at one, a Max Darkness erupting from the small pokemon's body in great streams of black power, swirling tornadoes of darkness that drive right for the other pokemon.

Perhaps it is because of the Illumina Pokemon's nature that the Darkness is not as strong as it should be, maybe it's because Rhodium's future is already soaked with that it knows just how to navigate that storm of shadow to avoid the worst of it. Regardless of reason or cause, the pokemon of steel future bursts forth from the tempest with a roar, shadow filling its maw as it tears through the black cloud and throwing it back at Hati with a hatred unbefitting of such a mechanical being. It was the fury of a monster, an apex predator displace from its time.

An explosive finale befits this epic battle as the smoke settles, the crushing pressure of darkness against the biting chill of frost. But ultimately there could only be one victor, thus it was Rhodium standing proud over the knocked out body of Hati, a thick miasma of shadow leaking from its damaged heads. "Wooh! Great job Rhodi, you for sure earned yourself a powernap after that one!" Caesi calls out as she hastily returns Rhodium to its Pokeball, both to get it some rest and to make sure it didn't outright try to rip the Eevee's throat out after the match was already over.

"And you did good too Temp! You really had us going, never seen an Eevee with moves like that before!" The girl smiles as she waves goodbye to Tempest, turning away and making for the exit so she could head to the medical tent and get Rhodium fixed up.
