Once again she steps out onto the stage, a new persona firmly in place as she smiles and waves at the crowd with that bubbly grin, a happy go lucky girl giving it her all in the tournament of her dreams. A girl fresh from Mauville City read to take on the world, not a gym badge to her name even as she takes on the Vital City Tournament with nothing but her strange otherworldly beast from the future there to support her.

Seriously, it's no wonder the League was struggling so much if they couldn't spot such a fake backstory like this. She was hardly even trying for Arceus's sake. Regardless, she stops at the center of the ring and releases her Iron Jugulis, awaiting her opponent with confidence and style~

If Xenon expected to see a peppy bright-eyed opponent, she would be sorely disappointed. Gerald was growing moodier with each battle. He could feel the restlessness growing, and his stomach grumbling.

Gerald barely glanced at his opponent, offering her not a thought in the world. Luckily the Absol that took to the stage besides him was more chipper, giving both opponents a cheery greeting bark.

Well well well! Maybe if Caesi had bothered to read through the signups and brackets she might have known just who she'd be fighting today, an old time acquaintance she hadn't seen in quite a few months! Her grin grows just a little brighter as she takes her side of the stage, waving to Gerald's Absol and giving Rhodium a pat on each head before its ready to go.

And with that the battle begins as the warmachine takes to the field with a burst of speed, zooming out and then up into the sky to hammer Amabilia with a Hurricane from above, each head whipping about wildly as it stirs up a storm to start this battle off with style!

The Iron Jugulis took to the skies, putting Gerald and Absol in an immediate disadvantage. It left them with only one move in their arsenal, and if that was the case they had to put in their all from the get go.

As Absol tried to dodge the gale winds a bright light and a quick transformation clad her, evolved her into a Mega Absol and as soon as the transformation had finished, the now Mega-Absol’s horn gloved a dangerous purple. Moments later a crescent-like blade flew from her horn aimed as best she could at the Iron Jugulis.

The light of Mega Evolution floods the field as the Absol cracks open the egg of possibility and emerges anew with new power, a psychic blade of darkness rushing at the dark beast from below.

An explosion rocks the arena as Rhodium is knocked from the sky and sent clattering back down to the ground, yet still it holds steady as it quickly fires off a salvo of Flash Cannons to try and maintain distance from the melee fighter, struggling to recalibrate and take back to the skies out of reach of the Mega Evolved beast.

The attack hit, but the Mega Absol was not going to celebrate just yet. Intent on capitalizing on its hit, it charged toward the fallen Robot. A salvo of Flash cannons firing in its direction.

Mega-Absol did its best to dodge, but she was sure that she felt a singeing-sensation once or twice as she ran along intent on keeping this to a close range fight. This time switching from a slashing attack to a bludgeoning one as its tail was coated in steel energy to harden the IRON TAIL for delivery.

The match evens out as Rhodium manages to score a few glancing hits against Amabilia, the crowd is going wild at this back and forth while Caesi continues to cheer her beloved Iron Jugulis on with all her heart!

The Absol is closing the gap quickly, quick calculation from Rhodium determines that this is the worst outcome desirable as it angles its "wings" forwards and blasts the dark beast with a Hurricane force gust to throw it back, followed by another salvo of Flash Cannons to keep up the pressure!

The Mega form faded, revealing to Amabelia that what she had thought a mere graze was more than that, it had been a real proper hit.

Still, be that as it may, the pain did not stop her from proceeding. Hurricane gales and Flash Cannon salvoes did make her job more difficult than it needed, but that did not stop her from trying.

Absol dived and dodged to the best of its ability trying to bend the wind favorably and avoid the searing-blasts as it kept moving forward to deliver the IRON TAIL that Iron Jugulis had rightfully deserved.

The light of Mega Evolution fades as her opponent reverts back into her base form, Caesi grins as she snaps her fingers and points at Gerald confidently. "Looks like I was able to hold out for the grand finale after all! Hope you have some tricks left up your sleeve!" She calls out as Rhodium catches its metaphorical breath, keeping the gap between itself and Amabilium nice and wide as it continues to pepper the Absol with more barrages of Flash Cannon and Hurricane. It wouldn't be a flashy victory, but a death by a thousand cuts is still a win!

For all its attempts at dodging the storm gales and the searing salvoes tore at her and her ability to keep fighting. And unfortunately it also kept her at a distance, which was a severe disadvantage to her.

But Amabilia wasn’t about to just quit. With a reverberating roar and a slammed paw into the ground she tore STONE EDGE’s from the Arena floor trying to tear them as far up as she could not only to hit the Iron Jugulis, but to create a ladder which would allow her to reach and perform a follow up attack, if her body would allow it.

It would be coming down to the wire it looks like, a surprise Stone Edge slamming into the Paradox's undercarriage and destabilizing it in midair, sparks and smoke flying from the robotic Pokemon as the Absol begins to sprint up its earthen ladder for one final attack! Caesi grimaces as she leans forward over the railing, just stopping herself from running in to join the fight herself!

"It's make or break Rhodi! Hit em with all you've got!" She shouts as all three heads snap to attention, its arms going still under the primary head as they form into a triangular pattern aimed right at Amabilia. A flurry of elemental attacks of all kind rain down on the harbinger of doom as Rhodium throws everything it has at the Absol, Hurricanes, Flamethrowers, Flash Cannons, even Dark Pulses, anything it could just to finish this battle before she could reach it!

This would be the final strike of the match. Amabilia charged up the impromptu stony stairs. Each push of its paws was painful. And as a flurry of elemental attacks rained down upon her she could only do her best to avoid as many as she could. But given her path her options to do so were limited even with the help of DOUBLE TEAM.

And so she felt more than once herself bathed in flames, stricken by hard gales, and singed by Flash Cannons. But finally she reached the final stone and pushed herself into a jump, the blade on her head glowing eerily purple as she slashed to deliver a NIGHT SLASH fueled with all the energies left in her body.

Hopefully it was enough.

The final push feels as long as eternity. A rain of the elemental forces comes down upon the charging Absol as a god's wrath from the heavens, trying to wipe clean the prophecy of doom that approaches from the earth below. But the future is written in blood and darkness, a blade of purest shadow rips through Rhodium's chassis in a dramatic spray of sparks and metal as the two fall back to the ground in a tangled mess of bodies. The winner is decided by total knockout, Gerald and Amabillium reign supreme.

Caesi lets out a frustrated groan as she holds her head in her hands, but she was never one to linger long on defeat as she gives Gerald a defeated smile and recalls Rhodium gracefully. "Good match buddy! It's good to see you in top form as always!" And with that last enigmatic parting statement, she leaves the arena to move on to the nurse's tent and get ready for the next battle.

The battle came to an end. Their opponent had been defeated. Amabilia stood the victor of the battle, and honestly Gerald felt a trainer’s pride at the sight. It was good to see the hard work and effort they put into training finally paying off. The Absol was returned to its ball, a gently whispered “Well done” given in the process.

“Thank you, you fought very well too, let me know if you ever want a rematch.” Gerald’s mood had improved by now and so he sent her a friendly smile. It was only as he turned away to leave that something triggered in his head, the specific words she had used.

“It's good to see you in top form as always!"

He hadn’t met this woman before, he didn’t even know her name, and yet she seemingly knew him. But by the time he turned to ask her about this, she was gone. A mystery for a later time.
