One fight turned into ten turned into twenty. They began to stack up exponentially.

Finding opponents proved harder than anticipated. Most beginner trainers chickened out at the sight of a pseudo-legendary Pokémon. The stronger fighters had probably already made it to the second round.

Eventually, the duo came across a buff guy and his equally rugged-looking Pinsir. "Hellooo!" Andrea waved her goofy sock puppet of a hand. She was wearing her Hydreigon Sygna Suit. "You two look strong! Let's battle!"

Lucan’s pincers slipped neatly into the Hydreigon’s mouth, crunching a little as fire rolled down over its form, blackening the carapace and causing the beetle to scream in pain.

Onyx touched the megastone in his pocket, and the layers of blackened chitin fell away, revealing electric-yellow wings. They buzzed frantically, lifting the bug up while still inside Chomper’s chompers, as he thrashed and flailed and tried to guillotine his way to safety.

"Mega Evolution... Now we're talking!" Andrea flashed a fanged grin, her pupils dilating with ever increasing JOLLINESS.

Chomper knew the dangers of getting caught in those terrifying pincers, so he used his boosted speed to his advantage. The enemy could now fly, but so could he, Flying high into the air, before crushing down on the large bug.

No matter what Lucan tried to do, it seemed the Hydreigon could do it better. His attempts to maneuver up and out-- or through, if incapable of doing up and out-- failed, as Chompers rose up with him, leaving the bug continuing to thrash and flail inside the dragon’s mouth.

The Pinsir was on his last leg, but he refused to get squashed like a bug. If he were to faint, he would do so on his own terms. Chomper was determined to see this through to the end as well, showing his BRAVERY through a defiant roar.

"Meet his Superpower with your Outrage!" Andrea yelled, but perhaps this time their luck had finally run out.

The Mega-energy peeled from Lucan’s wings as it began to dissipate, but he managed to hook his pincers around the Hydreigon’s main head. With a thrash of his wings and a huge twist, he tried to take the dragon down to the ground with guillotine.

"Oh no, Chomper!" Andrea shouted in WORRY. The opponent had gotten the upper hand, taking advantage of Chomper's recklessness to lock the dragon's middle head between its great pincers. The Hydreigon snarled and growled, struggling to escape the murderous beetle's grasp before its national razor could make him de-evolve into a Zweilous and start a new Kalosian Revolution. Hopefully the second Outrage would do the trick.

The fight was like Hydra vs. Mothra if Mothra ever had a fighting chance against Hydra.

Onyx could feel the frustration rolling off the dragon in waves, but Lucan couldn’t back down, now. He had to take the outrage head on, teeth gnashing, body pulled tight as his carapace rocked and took hit after hit. It was an impressive show of strength to once more match outrage with superpower to see who would finally, finally come out on top…

Their fight had come down to the wire, both Pokémon trading their most powerful blows with no intent of giving up. "Wow, Vital Battles are really intense!" Andrea remarked, thoroughly impressed by the physicality on display.

They were evenly matched, but in the end only one of them could walk away with the win. Chomper's three heads roared in unison, going for his third and final Outrage.

In the end, he came out just a few inches short. "That's enough, Chomper. Get some rest." The dragon-costumed girl recalled her draconic companion, before extending a hand towards the victor. "Congrats, sir! This was a great battle!"
