FINALLY, the Tentacruel's intentions are clear. A screech announces its drastic attack as it sparks and sizzles, thanks to CHANCELOR MCQUEEN's Pikachu. From its floating position, it sends its tentacles after the party, the trunk-sized appendages seeking the party's pokemon out like fired missiles. The beast's eyes hone in on the SALAMENCE- but the tentacles bounce off the PROTECT! Instead, it grabs onto the pesky PIKACHU, intending on knocking it out so that their beach-side invasion can continue without a meddlesome rodent.[break][break][break]

[break]TENTACRUEL uses BARRIER[break]before grabbing PIKACHU with one of its tentacles!![break][break]

THE TENTACRUEL'S GRASP on PIKACHU is tight. It keeps Pikachu's body under the SURF before hoisting it up in the air like a fresh catch. Whatever is energizing the Tentacruel is empowering it significantly as it squeezes around the poor electric rodent's body with a deathly grip. From the movement of the tentacles, it's clear to the party that the Tentacruel plans on slamming the Pikachu onto the ground.[break][break]

[attr="class","bry"] If there is a pattern, Bryony can't tell what its purpose is. She looks to her jangmo-o, recognizing the stance of its attack, and bites back a sigh of relief over the pokemon's competence.

One of the tentacles swipes Pikachu from its position but there's no time to react as the towering surf crashes over the Pokemon and their trainers. Bryony's grip on Chancelor is lost and she's thrown off her feet, sent backwards as if she were no more than a child in a tidal pool. Sand clings to her skin and she coughs, looking up at the Tentacruel. "Use - use bide!" she shouts, fumbling to get back to her feet.

Jangmo-o, too, is knocked back, pushed through the sand. When the water calms and Bryony gives the order, she charges forward to unleash Bide. Her body snaps to the side, tail cracking like a whip in the air, and she sends out the strength of the surf back to its creator.

[attr="class","spiral"] the piercing scream of the creature sounds off the start of its retaliation. fernando observes with a fixed concern as numerous tentacles look to entangle an unfortunate victim. when it settles onto the pikachu, fernando feels at ease, if only because he presumes that having a direct ether to the electrical pokemon will serve as a conductor to aid further electrical attacks. at least until it tries to drown the rodent with an aggressive water boarding.

no matter how strong the pokemon may be or whatever advantages it has, it still needs to breath. rendering it unconscious and suffocating it beneath the water's edge proves and effective way to overcome the enemy's natural weakness. fernando's about to shout out a command to aid it but the SURF comes too quick. the high tide sweeps them up indiscriminately and fernando takes a mouthful of water instead of letting anything out. hacking and coughing give way to a sudden urge to hold what's left of his breathe until he can feel himself breach the residual current. his own safety comes first and fernando is left straight on his ass on the beach, wheezing in pain as the burn of inhaled water fumes from his nostrils.

ALOMOMOLA is swept away as well but the pokemon is at home under water. once the push of the current sweeps over it, the pokemon navigates the waning crest with ease, swimming against it to return to the battlefield. without an explicit order, the pokemon uses HEAL PULSE on its nearest ally, JANGMO-O.

"How'd you get grabbed by that, m'boy? C'mon, now!" Chancelor hollers, somewhat displeased by the long-eared rodents lack of agility and athleticism. Being constructed by anything remotely the size of this creature from the deep was worrisome, but the youngest McQueen had nothing but faith in his little companion in regards to getting himself out of this extremely sticky situation. However, to make matters worse, there was always the swell heading directly for the Trainers that'll easily overcome the makeshift battlefield. "Yo, Bryony," he taps on the females shoulder frantically; teeth gritting as the wave inched closer and closer; looming over them all like some kind of ill-omen. "I know i'm the man and all... But my surfing skills are mad wack." He exclaims jokingly, all while utilizing years upon years of training to prepare himself on being consumed whole by the massive swell.

Meanwhile, Pikachu did the same despite being in a much dire situation. Struggling would be futile; there was no one he was out powering this gargantuan oceanic beast. The best thing he could possible do at this point is hold what little breath he managed to catch before being snatched-up and attempt to use his element to gain any kind of advantage he possible could. Electricity courses through the body and pulses outward of the Electric type in a steady rhythm—following the controlled and maintained beat of his heart while it still remained as such^{( THUNDERBOLT )}. The wave of water coupled with a direct source of extremely high voltage electricity should conduct the attack to a much greater potency—a potency even this sea beast wouldn't be able to stand, at least that was the thought process behind this hasty and last-ditch-effort action.

Hacking up a polymerization of sand, mud, and water from the mouth, Chancelor slowly rises up; body drenched with ivory hair weighed down by water and soil. "You got it, m'boy! Just hang in there a little longer!" He boasts, trying to send a boost of morale to his little struggling companion. Hopefully the combined efforts of Bryony's dragon and Pikachu would be enough, if not, things would become increasingly dire for them all.

A SCREECH ANNOUNCES the tentacruel's murderous intent. CHANCELOR MCQUEEN's PIKACHU writhes painfully inside the constricting tentacle as it's raised like a guillotine's blade. the action is swift. the PIKACHU can hear the wind whistling as the tentacle slams downward, like a hellish malfunction of an amusement park ride.[break][break]

the PIKACHU braces for impact. from the intense rush of vertigo and the malevolent grasp around his squirming body, the electric rodent waits for the peace of unconsciousness- or even worse. however, CHANCELOR MCQUEEN's partner is knocked from certain disaster. freya and her SALAMENCE intersect the tentacruel's damning appendage, taking the blow while loosening the grasp around the tortured PIKACHU, allowing him to escape but not without suffering collateral damage.[break][break]

however, freya and the SALAMENCE are struck fiercely. they meteor toward the ground and smash into the coast. their bodies rest motionless and against the surf like discarded driftwood.... a triumphant screech tears into the briny air. annoyed by FERNANDO SILPH's ALOMOMOLA, the tentacruel lunges for the healer with a swift surge of tentacle.[break][break][break]

DESPITE THEIR BEST EFFORTS, the councilwoman's dire condition and strength of the tentacruel prove too much. thankfully, other trainers are able to come to their aid in order to fend the tentacruel back.[break][break][break]
