Hi there," Nabi said to her opponent. "I'm Nabi." Next to her, Bruno made his presence known with his own introduction. He uttered a low groan from the back of his throat and thudded the ground with his large hands. "Yes, and this is Bruno," Nabi chimed and patted the side of the swampert's head. He was starting to warm up to her. It warmed Nabi to see him soften up.[break][break]

"Anyways, we're feeling pretty good about ourselves, so don't get your hopes up about winning this battle." Nabi winked to mint frost before swiveling on her heels and returning to her side of the field.

Mint takes his position on the pitch, his Abomasnow looming behind him as they both wave at Nabi and the Swampert. "Nice to meet you. I'm Mint!" he said gesturing at himself before looking up at his partner. "This is Straciatella, happy to be there." he said though, it was hard for the dual type to not have some sort of resting bitch face. [break][break]

"Hehe, sure if that's what you want to tell yourself!" Mint said grinning back as a little shiny Rotom twirled around him and then Nabi, taking footage and streaming to Mint's IG account live. His Abomasnow moves to take her place on the pitch.

Their opponent was an abomasnow; not the best of match-ups, if Nabi was being completely honest to herself. She hoped Bruno could pull through the adversity.[break][break]

At the sound of the match beginning, she wasted no time in giving the first call. "First, a MUD SHOT!"[break][break]

Plain and simple, with no added strategy to make the attack anymore than what it was--an attack. The swampert slammed one hand flat against the ground to signal the oncome of his MUD SHOT before piloting a stream of icky mud from his mouth.[break][break]

Within seconds, the battlefield was covered in a flurry of snow and hail. Nabi shivered beneath the sudden drop in temperature. Likewise, Bruno was not a particular fan of the cold.[break][break]

"Get a PROTECT up!" Nabi was quick to instruct when she saw the incoming abomasnow. As commanded, Bruno raised his shields, defending against the WOOD HAMMER's power. Now was the perfect time to counter at close distance.[break][break]

Just as the PROTECT lowered, Bruno ignited a hearty HYDRO PUMP, aimed to strike the abomasnow in her lovely face.[break][break]

Straciatella is buffeted back by the MUD SHOT and is unable to land a good hit on her opponent. That's fine. She braces herself for a moment, beginning to glow rainbow in tandem with Mint's earring. As she transforms into her mega form, Straciatella blasts a RAZOR LEAF before she gets ready to give chase.

A charging mega-evolved abomasnow would be frightening to anyone, even the cocky swampert Nabi had managed to tame. Bruno kicked off his feet to regain distance and avoid the onslaught of the powered-up RAZOR LEAF, but avoiding that proved most difficult. Despite his efforts, the swampert felt multiple leaves cut against his exterior. It had been a devestating move.[break][break]

In return, Bruno readied another MUD SHOT to try and slow his opponent's movements.[break][break]

The intensity of the BLIZZARD, combined with the already falling snow, forced Bruno to hold himself and curl up into a ball. Even Nabi who was standing outside of the ring found herself suddenly shivering and rubbing her arms for warmth. Thankfully, the BLIZZARD was not enough to bring them down just yet. "C'mon!" Nabi called out to her swampert. "Use your HYDRO PUMP!"[break][break]

It was so cold now, parts of the battlefield had frozen over, including remains of Bruno's previous attacks. He struggled against the cold and shook in his delivery of the HYDRO PUMP.[break][break]

The HYDRO PUMP instantly transformed into an ice sculpture with the help of the SHEER COLD inflicted by the abomasnow. Had the attack targeted Bruno instead, Nabi wasn't so sure the swampert would have made it out of this battle with functioning limbs.[break][break]

"ROCK SLIDE!" she yelled. With the abomasnow returned to normal, now was the time for them to take the advantage and overpower her with their physical strength.[break][break]

Bruno rallied himself for what would be his final move -- an avalanche of rocks formed together and dove straight forward the opposing abomasnow.[break][break]

In this instance, rocks won over paper. The ROCK SLIDE tore through the leaves, enabling Bruno to protect himself while also making the finishing move.[break][break]

Nabi made her way to the field for the formal goodbye. As she did, she gave Bruno a wink for his victory. The abomasnow had been a formidable opponent for him. "Thanks for the battle," she said to mint frost. "Your pokemon is well-trained." Then, with a slight bow, Nabi turned and exited with her swampert.
