"Noel Parker." Doug intoned as he entered their designated Arena, tapping his chin thoughtfully. "That name seems familiar."

Yet, he had never met this man. Which meant...

"You've got a reputation on ya, huh?" Presumably, without directly working for the league too. "This oughta be fun!"

Leaping over him, his Scyther landed deftly on their side of the arena, spreading out her wings and scythes.

"I'm John Sullivan; medic. Let's have a good one, yeah?"

Had he made a name for himself? He didn't feel quite as if he had accomplished anything noteworthy yet. But perhaps his deeds were being seen by forces unknown to him. Either way, he would keep on as he were, no matter who was watching him. Still happy to have the recognition, he flashes a smile to the new challenger.[break][break]

"And Doug right? I've certainly heard of you. To be honest, I've been wanting to have the chance to face off against you for a while now. I'm Noel Parker, and I hope you're ready."[break][break]

Jumping off from his shoulder, the tiny Shaymin leaps into battle. With a press on his hip, Noel activates the Tera orb on his hip to swiftly transform his Pokemon into its Grass Tera. Now boosted in power, the pair would await their opponent to make the first move.

"That I am." He said, smiling at the other man confidently as crystals evenloped his... Shaymin.

One of the many signs that the man before him was not the average trainer. Good— neither was he.

"You're not scared now, are ya?" he asked his Scyther with a grin as he leaned onto his side slightly.

Kama merely snorted, stepping forth while popping her neck on both sides. As if.

"Good." He said with a chuckle. "Show 'em what'cha got, then."

With a hiss, the Scyther lunged forward, scythes dragging along the soil as she folded them inwards to wield them like clubs, her silhouette blurring as she suddenly accelerated.

The dirt seemed to explode as she vanished in a sudden leap, zooming upwards before falling sharply near her opponent, her wings still buzzing as she took a swing.

It seemed like Doug was getting heated up in this battle. Good. Noel would enjoy the battle much more if his opponent was just as into it as he was. With a smug smile flashing across his face, this would be an interesting match. Not only was the matchup entirely not in Noel's favor, but it seemed like Doug and his Pokemon were well trained together. Who knows how many ordeals the two of them had already gone through.[break][break]

"All right Shaymin... Let's not let them one-up us. Meet them head-on!"[break][break]

Speed was not the hedgehog's strong suit. Time and time again in this tournament, had it have to encounter foes with such blinding velocity that it seemed impossible for it to keep up. Instead, the grass-type would have to keep at range for the time being, hopefully being able to land a hit with a Seed Flare projecting off its body.

Kama did her best to weave through her opponent's ranged attacks. It wasn't long before she realized it would be difficult to get in range— at least, while staying unhurt.

Her scythes blurred as she attempted a distraction, throwing out walls of wind towards her opponent before quickly blurring as she leapt high in the air, her wings spreading wide as she attempted to soar over her opponent's offensive.

The slices of visible air blocked the Shaymin's vision of what the Scyther was up to. The harsh wind cut away at the hedgehog's skin and clipped off its fur. Still standing its ground after such an attack, it looks overhead to see the bug flying across the sky, as if about to dive down and strike from above.[break][break]

"Don't let them get close to you!"[break][break]

Heeding its trainer's advice, it fires off a multitude of Energy Balls to try and keep Doug's Pokemon away. If they were lucky, they could knock it straight out of the air and return it back to the ground where they would have a better chance at defeating their opponent.

Kama's aerial offensive was brought to a halt by the Shaymin's artillery, one of the energy balls clipping her side and sending her hurtling back down like a crashing jet.

She managed to recover however, correcting her balance moments before hitting the dirt, landing with surprising lightness on her feet before immediately launching forward into a lunge, her scythes stretching out towards her opponent.

Of course it wouldn't be so simple. If every Pokemon fell so easily after one attack, then this tournament would be over before they knew it. The Scyther seemed eager to retaliate and cause as much damage as possible to the Shaymin. One unlucky swipe from those forearms and the hedgehog would end up more than just hurt.[break][break]

Before the opponent gets any close, the grass-type runs forward, hoping that the Scyther wouldn't see through its plan. As the bug swiped forward with its mighty blades, Noel's Pokemon ducks underneath, sliding across the floor and through its legs. Yet not without consequence, as the scythes do end up slicing across its body, leaving a bloody mark. Wincing in pain, the Shaymin takes a moment to try and forget the pain, instead turning and jumping up to land a Zen Headbutt against its back.

With perhaps more grace than even she expected, Kama managed to drop low and evade the headbutt to her back, before using her scythes to throw herself back and away.

Doug hummed. Having retaken the lead, this seemed like a good time to go all out and try and end it.

Reaching for the Z-crystal around his wrist, Doug did a little shimmy dance as his Scyther's arm was enveloped in a red haze, the bug cocking her arm far back before releasing a roar as she unleashed her move, a torrent of winds enveloping the arena.

With the Scyther's roar bellowing out loud to an almost deafening degree, it signaled that they were trying to end this once and for all. Noel grit his teeth, there was no way his Shaymin could take another hit, they would have to put out all the stops in their next move. While it was nothing special like the insane dance Doug did in order to power up his Pokemon, they had one ace up their sleeve.[break][break]

"Stop them before they get any close Shaymin!"[break][break]

The hedgehog heeds its trainers command, planting its feet onto the ground and concentrating on the task ahead. With a low growl, it takes in power from the sun, although weakened from the ongoing cloudy weather, and shoots off a Solar Beam aimed directly toward the Scyther. However, the Z-Move was already making its way towards the Shaymin, harsh winds cutting away at its body and blowing it backwards after only unleashing its move for a small amount of time.

The battle ended; for once, it had gone well for them, though their opponent had not made it easy on them.

"Thank you for the match." He said to the other young man after having returned an ecstatic Kama to her pokeball, smiling at Noel. "Maybe we can do this again sometime."
