Crossing her arms, she let her Lucario take the stage for her. “I am Megan. This is my partner, Lucario. I’m not one for nicknames. Well, not for Pokemon anyway.” Humans were fair game though, like good Ol’ Ollie over there. “We’re always ready, so you can have move in this Peek-A-Boo competition.”

Well, at the very least the little guy came out of the gate running. That was something she had to acknowledge, even though she much preferred the evolved form to a simple Pikachu. Though she did not have her Raichu entered for this, so that could not be seen in motion, sadly.

Instead, she had her trusty partner, who immediately surged forward, seeking to weave around the Discharge and hit the Pikachu directly with Extreme Speed.

Oof. That looked like it hurt. Electrical discharge still surrounded Lucario, causing it to jolt her and there, but it certainly had not been flung into concrete. That seemed a lot worse, but she figured it was fine since the little one was getting up again. This was a tournament, after all. Not a gym battle. They were not holding back.

Still, just squishing the other would still feel bad, so this was all good. Still, that outcome saw her hold back a little on going Mega already. Both to give Lucario more of a breather and not to come across as too aggressive. “Well, if it is trying to disarm you, show it the opposite. Let’s start up a proper Sword’s Dance here,” she ordered her Pokemon, which tried to ignore the soothing voice and instead grow ever sharper in mind and body for the time being.

So, he was going to try and dodge for now? Well, that was fine too. Not like they necessarily had to even move from their spot into the musical minefield, either. “Well, then just hit them anyway. Or at least try to, so let’s do an Aura Sphere,” she ordered her Lucario.

The latter stopped its Swords Dance and instead briefly remained completely inert. Then its eyes snapped open, immediately focusing on the enemy as it charged up a sphere of pure energy to then hurl it at great speeds at the Pikachu, hopefully hitting it with that right away.

Ooof. The Pikachu sure was taking it like a champ. But it was still taking a good deal of damage there, evidently being hurt.

But Megan was not someone who would rudely suggest the other stopped fighting or anything like that. That would be horrible. They were here, they were fighting, they probably knew best what they could and could not take.

Hence, she would capitalize on that recuperation time, as a proper battler would. “Let’s not miss a beat now, Lucario,” she told it, which pretty much was code for starting a nice little Swords DanceVS8mZ06V

The Pikachu was evidently on its last legs there. But it was still going. It did not want to give up. Which was good enough. Not knowing who the other really was, Megan simply felt like this was more akin to a green-horned gym challenger on his first run. At which he was doing decently well, in her opinion.

But that also meant she should treat it like that. Beating her would not earn this guy a badge, but she figured she could at least get him the proper experience. “Well, if they are bringing out the big guns, let’s do the same,” she announced as she activated the mega accessory to match Lucario up better with the giant Pikachu. “Still bigger, but you know what they say about those and falling. Let’s go for speed and try to trip it over,” she ordered, sending her Pokemon to Extreme Speed the enemy.

Something something size was not everything. Obligatory. Aside from that though, it was always satisfying to see a big one like this fall. Sure, Lucario had had to go mega for that, but that just meant that he had become the hero felling the foul beast.

Even if said foul beast had been, well, a Pikachu. That kind of deflated the whole story. But then again, a win was a win, so she high-fived Lucario when it returned from the pitch. “Well then, it’s been fun but the next round probably already waits for both of us. Take care of Tofu, then. And make sure it doesn’t grow an appetite fitting that body.”
