The Vital City tournament wasn't all main stage events of course, such a thing would be impossible with just how packed this tourney was with trainers trying to make it all the way to the top. Events like these were little side matches, 18 arenas for 18 Pokemon types, a fun little gimmick and a cheaper way to watch some good Pokemon battles if you were attending in person.

Caesi smiles at some unknown joke on her phone as she walks into the Bug type arena with Rhodium right behind, a wide open meadow littered with deep patches of grass and brush, the perfect place for a sneaky bug to hide and spring out at their prey.

Kouji couldn’t really look too much more suspicious, but then again his age up had some perks to it, and the fact he was not covering the lower half of his face was one of them. Pushing a stall cart selling stupid trinkets, while battling people here and there. ”Not like it’s all that blood pumping.”

It was someone that caught his eye for a moment, as if they were someone he knew but the second he properly stared at them, Kouji found himself sighing. He was just seeing things, this one here was actually a normal person.

”Oi you, up for a good round of battle between our mon?” Kouji said as he brought out his Urshifu, the pokemon’s grin radiated the will to test his strength against another worthy opponent.

Caesi grins as she catches wind of her opponent for this round, though to Kouji it must just seem like a friendly girl ready for an exciting battle. "That's what we're here for ain't it?" The girls responds as Rhodium floats up to the stage, mechanical eyes fixated on the martial artist standing opposite of it. The fighter radiated a familiar aura... a dark aura, tempered by the blazing spirit of a fighter.

A shrill horn starts the match off and Rhodium immediately takes off to the right, one of its maws aimed at the ground and firing a series of bolts into the ground to detonate an Earth Power under the Urshifu before he could make an approach. But the second head is the one to really look out for as a swirl of wind starts to gather within its mouth, a building Hurricane aimed right for the strange bear, a shield meant to discourage him from getting any closer.

The powerful explosion began to rock the feet underneath Urshifu, the earth exploded upwards, and he barely managed to jump in time, using the flying rocks to jump between as he focused the energy in his fists, he had to time it right.

Kouji gave the thumbs up, the martial bear could feel the eyes of his trainer on his back, wondering which attack would strike first, his Sucker Punch, or the Hurricane that was being pointed at him.

The Sucker Punch strikes true as Urshifu bounds between rocks in a burst of speed, knocking the central head for a loop and slowing its retreat down a tad as its wings falter. But that's the thing about Hydreigons and their counterparts from the future, it was never just one brain you were dealing with. The right head's eyes sharpen into pinpoint pricks of light as the Hurricane rips out of its mouth and slams into the martial bear, throwing it into the underbrush as blades of wind tear into its skin and shred through his defenses, already Rhodium is starting to recover as the central head's eyes flicker back to life and begins to right its flight.

"The name is Caesi, and this here is my best buddy Rhodi! And what's your name stranger, since we're exchanging names and what not?" The exchange between trainers is cordial, while the battle below was anything but as the Paradox roars its dissent for all to hear, left maw opening and releasing a gout of flame towards the Urshifu to capitalize on its advantage.

Kouji raised an eyebrow, that almost sounded Kalosian if he didn’t know better, but he did and he knew that names in Hoenn were a mishmash. ”Kouma, nothing special to that name.” He said with a humble shrug before he turned his eyes back to his Urshifu.

The dark type was blasted back into the earth by the powerful blow of the winds, Kouji heard a beep as the HP of his pokemon was knocked down a notch, but that wasn’t enough to change this pokemon’s mind. It shook it off, before preparing to soar into the sky again, it was never so simple was it?

A bear without wings challenging the heavens, he punched the ground with an explosion of dark force as if to knock himself upwards, the same energies continued to coalesce around his fist, growing darker and darker with every rotation.

Striking with the Wicked Blow, a singular strike aimed at the gut, the spinning energy was aimed at the flames in order to part their way, a direct challenge at the three headed beast, a direct clash of force.
