Shalin was relieved to see Noel Parker was okay after the events of Dewford, though she was not at full capacity just from the sheer volume of battles she had fought through side events alone. "I'm just glad I got discharged in time to come here," Shalin replied. "Needed to blow off some steam." Her long sleeved shirt covered the skin grafts covering her elbows and the skin around them, which otherwise would have been quite noticeable. She expected to get asked about it a lot when the weather warmed up.

Not recognizing the Pokémon before her, Shalin replied as much. "What Pokémon is that?" she asked, though she would likely not get a response before the starting horn sounded. As soon as it did, Queen Zing's wings would drown out almost all other noise in the arena from just how loud they got when buzzing at full speed.

The barrage of green ENERGY BALLS was fast and dense, putting Queen Zing's bobbing and weaving skills to the test. Even her extreme agility couldn't keep her out of the way of the entire onslaught, one nailing her midsection and keeping her from swooping in for a sting.

Shaking her head, the wasp made an angry-sounding buzz before lunging toward Noel's Shaymin, her spear-like foreleg stings oozing venom. The true harm from her POISON JABS would not be the stab wounds, but from the poison that would make its victim feel like they were burning from within.

The shockwave from the SEED FLARE knocked even Shalin onto her rump. It was obvious the Pokémon was a grass-type, but that kind of power being able to bring a bug and poison Pokémon? Was this Shaymin one of the gods?

Noel's goal seemed to be to keep the wasp grounded. The absence of Shalin's Sygna Pokémon made a world of difference. With her trainer's suit active and Flygon present, Queen Zing's wings were supernaturally strong, able to bear her trainer's weight and even vibrate unimpeded. Without such power, even a simple, if powerful, Pokémon attack rendered her completely unable to fly. She was more than capable of being a dangerous foe on the ground, about facing to thrust her rear FELL STINGER into her foe. If they thought that first poison attack burned, it would be nothing compared to the dissolving capabilities her rear sting's venom had!

That's it! The Shaymin was reeling. This was Queen Zing's chance to swoop in for a match-ending flurry of stings. Only Noel's Pokémon was ready with a nasty trap: a prison fueled by EARTH POWER. It was not as inescapable as Noel may have planned, though; Shalin had the power of Mega Evolution on her side.

Raising her hand to her MEGA CIRCLET, the inside of the earthen cell glowed a bright purple-pink. The buzzing from within grew louder and louder, as did the whirring and shaking of a DRILL RUN in an effort to jailbreak herself. With four venom-laden stings instead of two after her MEGA EVOLUTION, she might be able to pump venom into her foe faster than SYNTHESIS could purge it.

Shaymin's SOLAR BEAM was incredibly strong and wide - easily wide enough to cover the entire battle court's floor. Against a Pokémon unable to jump, it would have spelled disaster. Beedrill couldn't jump, but they had a better solution. They could fly. Mega Evolved, the stinging insect could reach terrifying speeds. There were few things more terrifying than hopping on a Pokémon's back to flee an angry Beedrill and still not being fast enough to escape its wrath.

It was a wrath that, if the wasp's reaction were fast enough to dodge the grass-type attack, the poor Shaymin would experience from above. It would be her rear FELL STINGER, dropped onto the Shaymin's back, aided by gravity. The most painful sting, both on delivery and after delivery. On impact, it would feel like being stabbed with a serrated spear. After the venom was pumped, the body would be overwhelmed with an unbearable burning sensation.

Queen Zing was dazed from the conduit of Infinity Energy running dry, forcing her to revert to her standard form. Somehow, the grass-type was still standing even after a direct stab with the most venomous needle she had in her body. With one last SEED FLARE that looked like it could do some real damage to the building's structure, Shaymin seemed to give everything it had.

The Beedrill, on the other hand, had already given everything she had in the battle. She could barely vibrate her wings to keep herself aloft. There would be no dodging the grass-type attack and avoiding a knockout. All Shalin could hope for was that the attack wasn't in time and would get waved off by the judges.

"That was a close one," Shalin exhaled aftr seeing Queen Zing get out of the battle with dizziness but no real injuries from the Seed Flare. "You're a really strong trainer. I don't normally enter these types of tournaments, but I signed up when I found out it was to help test Dynamax Bands. I'm still skeptical about whether they can be controlled."

The girl blushed at the compliments Noel showered her with. "I wouldn't mind. How about sometime after the tournament, we meet up at my Romping Grounds in Petalburg Woods? It's a grassy plateau with a small lake in the center, pretty visible from the air." Regardless of the agreement, she would wave goodbye and get ready for her next flight.
