Lyra collapsed in exhaustion. It had taken every ounce of her remaining willpower to maintain such a close fight with the Dynamaxed Pikachu. She was spent, but she wasn't necessarily unhappy. She'd always liked Tofu and Ollie. They'd been staples in Caleb's life for as long as she could remember.[break][break]
In an effort to congratulate the now-normal-sized Pikachu, she lowered her weary head to nose him affectionately. He smelled like burnt churro, which made her sneeze.[break][break]
Caleb hardly cared that he'd lost the battle. All he cared about was that Ollie had said yes. Yes to talking. Yes to being alone together. Yes to him.[break][break]
