A strange roulette considering all the familiar faces that wandered this region. But the unspeakable truth is that most of these snacks are backup for if Mesprit ever decides to drop in.[break][break]

"I only have sandwiches and some cookies." Waved before Yuina's very eyes is a wooden lunchbox with Woopers and Quagsires painted all over. Which is then opened and gently placed onto the rock just between them. "Take some if you want."[break][break]

That's... enough hospitality, isn't it? Though she shifts her glance away from the woman, Eris can't help but look back every now and then even as she tries to pick her notebook back up and flit through the pages. Almost as if she's terrified she might miss any conversation Yuina attempts to strike up, or that she'd be deemed rude for doing something else.

Sitting on the porch back in Mossdeep, looking out at the flowers blooming in the garden and sharing tea time with Chu-e Choi. Getting her hands covered in paint as a kid, cheering as her father lifted her high up to paint the feathers of a phoenix. Listening to her mother's passionate stories before the crackling fireplace, adding to those fairy tales as she sketched out scenes of adventurers travelling with mythical creatures.[break][break]

How very... Profound... Yuina hadn't expected the poetic thoughts behind Eris' art, a platform in which she could place these thoughts and feelings. Maybe she should visit the arts portion of her museum again...[break][break]
"Hmm, I'd never thought of it that way," Yuina returned after a moment, her tone thoughtful, contemplative even.[break]
"What kind of mediums do you use? Do they mean different things to you," she wondered, arts history was more of where she could relate, but the actual form of what art meant, she was interested to know.

Yuina listened carefully to Eris' words, she didn't interrupt. In fact, she was wondering for herself now, questioning herself, did she ever have a medium to express things that she couldn't otherwise say? Did she play an instrument? Did she carry a camera? Was she fond of cooking, or would she take up a set of sketching charcoal?[break][break]
What a way to be reminded of how empty a life she was still living, how much of a shell she still was...[break][break]
"That's pretty neat Eris, I'm glad that you have those things in your life that are helpful to you," Yuina said after a quiet moment, looking out to the waves that lapped at the soft sand of the beach below.[break]
"I guess that means you made all of this food too, huh," Yuina smiled, Eris should held many different talents in her capable hands.

"I got this polaroid camera last year. So I can use it to take pictures of all the good things and people in my life." Arceus knows no one but Reiner and her other pokemon have seen her collection, little moments and places all strung up in her treehouse. "With how weird this region is, you never know what's gonna happen tomorrow, right? So you gotta snap those memories -"[break][break]

Cradled carefully within her palm, Eris offers it over.[break][break]

"Yeah, I guess that's right huh? Just like sharing a drawing, or a picture with someone," Yuina returned, finishing the last bit of the sandwhich that she had.[break][break]
She turned and glanced at the camera that Eris held in her hands, listening carefully, intently, because everything that she said was right. They didn't know what would happen tomorrow... For all she knew she could wake up and not remember this life just like before... How nice it would have been, to have some kind of memento, a photograph to look back on... To remember...[break][break]
"That's not why you take those pictures of John Sullivan though, is it," Yuina questioned with a short laugh, perhaps a bit knowingly as she took up the camera that Eris held out to her. There was no chance that Eris was taking those for mementos, and less chance that she was taking them as mementos with the intention of sending Yuina something to remember in that way.

Oh, she absolutely knows how unglamourous he looks in those photos. In fact, she's surprised that those pictures don't carry some sort of curse within them. Looking out to the sea of Wooper, Yuina smiled at the gaggle of blue faces that waddled around as she contemplated the camera in her hands. One Wooper, her own perhaps, was splashing in a shallow puddle and playing with the mushy sand of the beach, tossing up small Mud Bombs and watching them splash back down into the sand.[break][break]
"Refuse to buy you dinner? Has he before," Yuina laughed.[break]
"I couldn't imagine it, with how much he cares about you, how much he cares about all of his friends here," she mentioned. He joked a lot, sure, and had a good bit of sass in him, but he cared so much and cared so deeply, it was palpable every time he spoke about his friends in any capacity.[break][break]
Watching the ripple of the water in the distance, the sunlight reflecting off of each dip in the surface, Yuina felt the camera again in her hands, turning it over in her palms.[break]
"What would you take a picture of right now?"

"Hmm..." Her eyes flit all around. Over the picturesque waters, the playful Wooper Troopers and their new friend. But nothing catches her attention as much as the way Yuina stares off into the distance, gingerly rolling her camera within those delicate hands.[break][break]

Pulling her phone from her pockets, 'snap' goes the shutter. And with that image forever saved, she peeks from behind her phone with a cheeky smile.[break][break]

Super serious and angry? It was hard to imagine, even in the midst of that island, he found room to offer a smile. Or in their boot camp sessions, he could hardly keep an enitrely straight face while he was barking orders. But... Given how much and how strongly he cared... Yuina could see the notion that if something were to threaten something he cared about, even themselves...[break][break]

Yuina glanced down to the camera she held in her hands first, had she accidentally pressed the button without realizing it? But then she heard Eris snicker, looking out from behind the shape of her phone. Yuina blinked, flushing a bit pink, she certainly hadn't been expecting a photo... But Eris' smile, and her kind words gave way to Yuina's own smile, an a laugh.[break][break]
"We'll if we're spending it together, then we should make it look like it," Yuina returned, lurching forward and taking Eris' shoulders in one arm and holding her camera up in the other, snapping a picture of the both of them!

[attr="class","inner-finally"]The shutter closes before she's ever really prepared for the shot, but the surprise of being pulled towards Yuina is drowned in giggles. It must be a rather messy shot, with her hair all out of place and her clothes speckled with sand. And yet, it's the most genuine they'd possibly could've been in the moment.[break][break]

From the bottom, a picture slips out, one that Eris immediately takes into hand and sandwiches between her own two palms.[break][break]

"Aaaaand... just a little longer..." A mischievous peek between her palms with her right eye, and she closes it again. "A liiiiittle longer." Another peek but this time, she nods before finally opening her hands to show Yuina the result.[break][break]

A perfectly developed film with their goofy smiles, the beautiful sky and the rocky bay all framed within. Perhaps, with even a hint of Wooper blue at the edges.[break][break]

It was perhaps bold, and a little brash of Yuina to lurch forward and snatch Eris into the picture the way that she did, but the string of giggles that followed as the shutter clicked meant that it was all worth it.[break]
Yuina was all smiles, giggling a bit in kind as she brought the camera in closer as the picture began to emerge, but just as she had snatched Eris into the frame, Eris snatched the picture from the camera just as quick. Hands like a vice.[break][break]
Waiting on bated breath, Eris played out the anticipation of waiting to see what the picture was going to look like, and as she held it out to Yuina, offering it to her, laughing and giggling almost turned into a small sniffle.[break][break]
"It-- it's perfect. Thank you, Eris, for letting us hang around. I'm glad that, not knowing what might happen tomorrow, we got to have this today," Yuina smiled softly, trading Eris the picture she held for her camera back. It was so... real... A real memory... Yuina would hold onto it forever.
