Shalin's Sygna Suit was indeed different; from the large clifftop where a large research station was built, she was seated on a Venusaur easily as tall as the one-story building nearby. And not just anywhere. She was grabbing onto the pod at the end of its vine, and as close to its tip as she could while maintaining her balance.

The Infinity Energy flowed between Shalin and her Venusaur as the grass-type bellowed, perhaps attracting the attention of a nearby Scream Tail. Alex's comment would go unanswered for the time being as the Venusaur began to swing and flick her vine about, requiring all her concentration to hold on. Both Shalin and her Sygna Pokémon glowed a faint green that spiked in brightness every time the Vine Whip's cracker flicked with a whoosh.

While Shalin was getting her suit's Infinity Energy flowing, Midori the Iron Leaves and Lathiel the Type: Null kept their eyes open for any more paradox Pokémon. One was enough to handle; they didn't need any more coming at them.

Only seconds after Alexei Ivanov got his earplugs in would the worst shockwave reverberate outward from Shalin, washing over the Fortree Leader and both their Pokémon. As the Scream Tail edged a bit too close for comfort, Shalin braced for the worst her suit could withstand. Small VINE WHIPS grew from the backs of her hands as Saria drew her long vines backward in the opening motions of a POWER WHIP. With another bright green flash indicating how much Infinity Energy Shalin and Saria were expending, the vine she was seated on uncurled, assaulting the air with a deafening CRACK!

A cone of dust formed around Shalin in the split second her body moved so fast that even she herself could slice through almost anything she contacted. She was a living air blade for the split second she was seated on the Power Whip moving at its peak speed. She cleaved some tall grass near the Scream Tail in two, one of her Vine Whips smacking the Scream Tail and sending it rolling down the spiraling cliff trail at surreal speed.

All Shalin could do was let out a joyous whoop as she was yanked through the air at speeds that would make even Josh Devlin jealous. The reverberation that ran down the whip post-crack was equally thrilling, shaking her wildly and giving her the sensory overload she loved. She twirled in circles as the whip slowed down, creating a whistling noise around them until she became visible again on the mostly-still natural weapon. Whew, what a rush!

"I'm sorry, what did you ask?" Shalin asked Alex, being unable to hear the Gym Leader's screaming with how fast she was traveling and how much the apparent winds ravaged her hearing at the time. Though she looked dizzy still, she seemed completely unharmed.

With how much the Birdfather had been around Shalin recently, it came to no surprise that he carried earplugs on him. That and they were helpful when flying at hypersonic speeds on a bird like Pidgeot. "It doesn't as much as you think," Shalin explained. "It's my Sygna Suit that lets me do this at all. How much do you know about Sygna Suits?"

The power of Infinity Energy was truly limitless. It let Josh Devlin break the speed limits of his Manectric and Pyroar by a long shot. It let Andrea Vaneau fly. It let Shalin survive being a passenger on a whip crack. "Even so, I have to put a limit on how many times... how many times she lashes her vine with me on it." It was incredibly difficult not to come off as perverse...!

Shalin was impressed with Alex's knowledge of them. He knew almost all the basics about the suits, and may have been able to deduce why Shalin chose the Pokémon she did. A Venusaur's whip and a Flygon's wing were two of the wildest-moving things she could think of, and if she lived for anything, it was controlled chaos. "Then you know how powerful they are. Without it, Saria's whip would tear me to pieces!" It was less the whip itself and more the surrounding air slicing and dicing her from how fast she moved.

Saria began whirling her other vine around in almost invisibly fast circles, Shalin mesmerized by how fast it was going, though she had to resist switching over for the time being. She had already discharged a lot of Infinity Energy from withstanding the insanity Alex had been worried about.

All of a sudden, a tremor rocked Saria and all those on the ground, Upsetting the whirling circle, the two vines clashed with one another and became badly entangled, slamming Shalin to the ground. She was able to brace against her vine some, but even with her suit, the impact was still a rough one.

A Suicune-like roar followed the earthquake, accompanied by steam rising from below. When the mist passed above them, breathing became more difficult; inhaling stifling hot air wasn't exactly easy...

Shalin groaned as she stood up, her Sygna Suit absorbing a lot of the impact as Saria painstakingly untangled both of her whips. She knew it perhaps better than anyone else; when those things got moving, they seemingly had minds of their own. It was part of why all the snapping never got old: no two strokes of the vine were the same. "I... I should be okay," she replied as she stumbled about.

The cry of a Suicune boomed around Saria and the rest of Shalin's Pokémon that were out of their Poké Balls. Its source was a Walking Wake expelling HYDRO STEAM around them all. If the place wasn't a sauna before, it was now! With Saria still busy untangling her vines, Midori and Lathiel double-teamed the water-type with their LEAF BLADE and X-SCISSOR, notching a star of crossing cuts on the dragon's scales.

Gabriel's THUNDER FANGS cleanly struck the Walking Wake, electricity crackling all over the paradox, yet it did not react like most water-types. In Shalin's mind, only deities could shrug off such powerful attacks. "Josh Devlin was right - that thing really is a Suicune! And it's none too pleased! We have to get out of here!" Shalin pleaded, pulling back sharply on Lathiel's reins with both hands. The Type: Null about-faced alongside Midori, bounding toward Alex. "...Now! You can gawk at that later!" she urged.

HYDRO STEAM continued to rise up the Giant Chasm, threatening to envelop and boil the trainers and their Pokémon alive if they didn't hurry! For an angry god was a powerful god, and angry gods typically did not extend mercy!
