From his perch, Artichoke hoots–a blink of round, amber eyes signaling that the coast remains clear. At least for now.[break][break]

His head tilts when Greyson chooses to speak up , and bright green eyes shift back to the elite four member. Even as a mild frown flits over his face. “Amnesty? What about it?” He mulls over an answer regardless, though. “I think it could be exceptionally important, if it’s handled right.”[break][break]

He’s almost hesitant to say as much, though, for all of the agitation that seems to roll off of his friend at present. So his words are careful, measured.

He nods as Greyson echoes his words, understanding the emphasis loud and clear. It’s not as if he doesn’t disagree. He said it, after all.[break][break]
A frown pulls across his mouth, confusion furrowing his brow. “I mean, sure, yeah. It’s a little…hasty, I guess?” Lam’s head tilts, treading through his words carefully. The more Greyson speaks, the more obvious it becomes that this subject is digging at him like a thorn in his side.[break][break]
“Woah.” Both of his hands lift in a gesture of surrender, even if he isn’t actively arguing against the things his friend is saying.[break][break]
His head tilts contemplatively, reasoning. “I don’t think people have to be OK with it, or interact with a program if they feel so strongly about it.” He doesn’t add that the reverse could be true; that there are probably members of Rocket who are just as reluctant to face League affiliates who were too aggressive with them.
He thinks back to the battle shared with a masked rocket (Xiura Balfaltin) on the shores of Mirage Island. How tired they both were, and how neither of them took pot shots when they mutually agreed to stand down. He thinks of Dwayne Parker, who surrendered himself immediately because he couldn’t hold up against the constant onslaught of the League.[break][break]
“I do think it’s a fine line, though. Evaluations are necessary. Discretion and wisdom and careful scrutiny are all important. But I also don’t think the people who defect, who want a way out should be written off or left alone. Especially if all they want is an escape.”[break][break]
A part of him braces, unsure of whether or not he'll face the brunt of Greyson's frustration.

There’s no certain way to sway the other to his point of view, he figures. Nor does Lam really set out to be all the persuasive. He’s just offering an opinion that was asked.[break][break]
But it’s a fair point. One that draws a sigh from his lungs, a thin press of his lips. “Well, there’s no real way of knowing someone’s intentions, I suppose.” Lam’s brows pinch together as he frowns. “But like I said, if it’s handled right, weeding those cases out should be more plausible.”[break][break]
