annie mae let out a small "moo" as a wild dunsparce hopped acros the path before them, causing them to come to a brief stop. the dunsparce seemed almost silly with the way its body thumped against the ground with every hop, its tiny wings seemingly useless in design. gracie mae giggled to herself. it wasn't called the land snake pokemon for nothing, she thought to herself.[break][break]

"wait a minute," the breeder then spoke, realizing the dunsparce's wings appeared to be injured. "hold on, annie mae." she gave the miltank a reassuring pat before approaching the dunsparce. "hey, hey, cute lil' dunsparce. mind if i take a look at you for a moment?"[break][break]

the dunsparce seemed skeptical but friendly and approachable. with careful precision, gracie mae kneeled down to the dunsparce's level and looked over its wings and body. traces of battle were evident.[break][break]

"i'm sure you'd be using those wings of yours if they weren't so badly tweaked," gracie mae said to the dunsparce. "your tail is lookin' a lil' hurt, too. how 'bout it? want to come home with me? i'll make sure you're healed in no time. promise!"[break][break]

but gracie mae had no intention of carrying annie mae and a dunsparce all the way back home. this one, she decided, would have to go into a pokeball.[break][break]
