He was in bed![break][break]

Having spent a very exhausting few days immersing himself non-stop in the activities, he woke up to the sound of shattering glass and a rumbling that shook the entire place. What the hell was going on? Groaning, he got up from bed and looked down and around the floor—seeing that there were shards of broken glass every which way.[break][break]

“Ah, hell no,” he groaned, quickly wrapping his arm in the blanket and clearing a path away from the bed so that he could walk towards the closest blasted-out window. Seeing that there were no panes left, he then opened it with his protected arm, and then leaned out.[break][break]

“What the bloody hell’s going on down there?! Some people need to sleep!” he shouts, annoyed at first. It isn’t until he sees the craters does he realize what the fuck had happened.[break][break]

Grumbling, he then goes back to the bedside table and grabs six shrunken-down marbles, before tossing one out the window and watching as his Braviary makes an appearance.[break][break]

“Kyou—get me down there,” he says as he fights off a yawn.[break][break]

Eventually, he’d arrive down at the beachside. Not knowing that he was practically swathed in a blanket that hid his chest, he was only wearing a pair of boxer shorts as he slid down the back of his Braviary when he was low enough, and gave another huge yawn.[break][break]

“If—if anyone needs help, I have her.”[break][break]

A second flash of red light reveals a Ribombee, who appears with a really confused look on her face. “Carina—can you give your Pollen Puff to anyone who’s injured, please?” he asks the little dual-type.[break][break]

Hey, it wasn’t first aid per se but maybe it would work…

The shout initially evoked a flaring spike of annoyance, Bronze's temper flickering into crackles of annoyance before he quashes it, forcing himself to take a calming breath, and ignore the man. Seemed like that had just been probably the first wave. Sam got up out of his bed and made his way over to the windowsill, looking out at everything.[break][break]

Destruction and mayhem, maybe? Either way, Sam took a deep breath before crossing his arms. To go out, or not to go out... maybe he'd just wait for somebody to be hurt or something?[break][break]

he gets no response from @bryony despite her picking up the call. he grumbles at her as she hangs up. he wasn't really in a mood to try and be pushy and lets it go eventually. he ponders on calling the other friends he has on the canary hall, but decides against it after bryony ignored him.

The dust drifts down to coat the area in a fine powder, the last of the debris settling in place as gravity exerts its inexorable claim upon all that would dare defy it. Finally, it seemed, the immediate danger was over with. The aggressor had fled, as had that idiot with the canines. Everyone seemed present and accounted for, and miraculously whole, given the wholesale destruction that had just been unleashed upon the unsuspecting Canaries. Calm and largely unruffled by the events now that the safety of all present was assured, Bronze stretched an arm out, flexing it out and in as he leaned his head the opposite direction, easing the tension in his shoulders. [break][break]

With everyone else departing the scene, it seemed an appropriate time to follow suit. Inclining his head to those few remaining, Bronze turned, gathering up his pokemon with a gesture and a whistle, and strode back to the Hyacinth base.[break][break]

It was another bright, sunny morning—however this time, there was a battalion of winged avians perched around the important battlements surrounding the Canary warfront.[break][break]

Alexei had set them to guard just in case some unscrupulous characters came by again—and all of the Flying-types in his care would cause enough of a damn-ass racket to alert everyone in the fortress that there was someone—or something—approaching and meant to ruin the place.[break][break]

Among those taking the lead was an Aeroidactyl, perched on one of the forward most battlements. Accompanied on its opposite side was a Salamence, prepared to leer and Intimidate anything that would come their way—whether it was airborne or land bound.[break][break]

There were even more avians circling the place, keeping a good eye out for anything coming from both directions—sometimes it sucked to be right in the middle of two other warring fronts but that was what they got.[break][break]

Where was the #1 Bird Keeper in all this?[break][break]

…keeping an eye out for anything too suspicious coming their way, of course.[break][break]

Only he was in the air, astride his Braviary, flying between the lower cloud cover and keeping an eye out just in case something…shitty came trundling in.[break][break]

A Hydreigon followed not too far behind, ready to kick some ass if needed.

Another day, another disaster. Or so Bronze anticipated, at least, given the trends on display so far during the Aqua-FES 'festivities'. His experiences thusfar had taught him that while he had intended to enter into this with efficient, but harmless and non-threatening sportsmanship, it seemed that he had been in error; the Hoenn natives effectively treated this like a war. So be it. He could do war.[break][break]

Tactically speaking, the Canaries had the advantage of numbers, and unlike the hedonistic Garnets, they seemed game enough when it came to a fight. Raw force simply would not work, no matter the quality of the pokemon the Hyacinth brought to bear. Thus, some strategy was called for. Bronze had requested that the most combat ready Hyacinth, as well as those that displayed leadership qualities or other useful traits, meet him halfway between the Canaries and their own base, for a rough war council of sorts.[break][break]

"Right. We need a plan. Who has pokemon capable of defensive abilities, and what are they? My aggron here can use Protect to shield others and has Iron Defense. He can soak up damage and get around quick with Automize. My other two are heavy hitters exclusively."[break][break]

he missed the days when he didn't have to wake up early in the morning to walk his unnecessarily excited dogs.

all six of them were out of their balls, without their leashes, as kyle went back from the shore. the smell of wet dog fur hung in the air, contrasting the salty breeze from the ocean. kyle was just immune to the smell at this point of his life that it barely bothered him.

he returns to see a difference in the scenery when compared to what he saw yesterday. he stops on his tracks abruptly before he enters the house, staring at the myriad of birds on display.

"what?" he mutters to himself, confused.

fernando answer the question instantly while not paying very much attention to the rest of this ragged war band. rather than waste his time with eye contact in a conversation that only requires listening, he keeps his eyes focused on their prize: the canary base. a set of binoculars set between his fingers, pressed against his eyes as he spots a variety of flying pokemon in the sky. they're hard to make out from such a distance, even with binoculars, but he has a reasonable guess as to the species of those that remain stationary on the canary walls.

It didn't take long for the repairs to be complete. Strange as it was, it seemed like the warfront was back to being the same all over again. Sam wasn't sure the resources being divvied out to the houses were being used properly. Was this Aqua Festival really such a big deal that these working teams couldn't be put to use in Slateport instead?

Maybe that was just wishful thinking.

Either way, it was bright and early and Sam was out on the beach, watching the ocean. He looked over at his pokemon, his Solrock and Lunatone, who were building in the sand with their Psychic abilities. What they had constructed looked like a dining table, and it was pretty accurately done.

Pokemon are strange things.

Sam gave a beaming smile before walking over to it and looking at the array of berries and things. Looked delicious.

"Tell you what, feel free to throw me a feast anytime. You know, a real one?"

the birds meant someone was getting ready for battle. they were not the normal wingull that hang around slateport after all.

were people from his house finally participating in the assaults and the defenses? the thought brought a smile on kyle's face. maybe this year would have a chance of being as exciting as before.

"you're all going back to your balls," he tells each and every one of his mightyena. one by one, kyle recalls them to their respective capsules. the team was flexible for multiple situations, returning fire from sieges being one of them, but he has better pokemon for that specific purpose.

kyle goes inside the building, ready to change his loadout to something more appropriate.

Of course, anyone who wasn’t used to seeing an armada of avians and semi-avials (the non-Flying-types who had wings) would definitely be surprised at the sight, because normally the place looked practically unprotected.[break][break]

Today was not going to be that day.[break][break]

The Aerodactyl let out a derisive snort, before quickly taking off from the battlement he was perched on. Confused, the Salamence followed—at a slight distance.[break][break]

With the departure of these two, a Crobat and a Volcarona fly forward, taking their places—the two Pokémon earlier had gone on a perimeter search around the area. Back up in the sky where Alexei was cruising through low cloud cover while riding his Braviary, there were no unusual sights to be spotted…[break][break]

…well, at least not yet anyway.[break][break]

Frowning, he looks over and sees that the Hydreigon’s now parallel with him.[break][break]

“Go to the front, me and Kyouya will go towards the back,” he says to the Hydreigon. After getting a non-committal grunt from the blind dual-type flies on forward, listening with its enhanced sense of hearing for any foreign sounds.[break][break]

Meanwhile, Alexei and the Braviary went to fly towards the back—skirting the edge of the Canaries’ border before the edge near the Garnet territory.[break][break]

That’s strange… how come they’re not attacking? He thinks quietly to himself, pondering if this was a trap or not. Well, most of everything he treated on pins and needles these days, especially out here on the beach front.
