"Thanks for this," Ollie said, reaching for the reports and immediately flipping through them. Despite everything between them, the Head Ranger that he knew that he could always rely on Anna — work came first, after all, even if they weren't exactly on the most pleasant of terms right now.

[break][break] Though they'd been by each other's side during the raid... he hadn't been able to find her in the hospital after, not until they'd gone to head to head at Vital City Tournament. He wasn't even sure if he saw her at the closing ceremony.

[break][break] But today they were going to go over the reports for all the Area Zero excursions, both including the ones he already had on-hand and the ones that she wanted to report for Mauville. Plus, she'd been at that outbreak in Littleroot, too. Plenty of rangers had already reported their findings, but since annalise henderson had been there firsthand, he wanted to see what she had to say.

[break][break] Plus, he... he missed her. In general, and in totality. Other than willow atkins, there wasn't really anyone else he could talk to about the stuff going on between him, PENELOPE LIVY, Caleb Harcourt and GIDEON GRAVES. Then again, he wasn't sure if she'd want to talk about that sort of thing. After all, if the rumor mill was correct, she'd recently broken up with Greyson Connors.

[break][break] "How're you, by the way?" he said, remaining vague, as he attempted to breach the topic of conversation.

It makes sense. As much as he hates it, it makes sense. And yet, Ollie can't help but want something different. He wants her to be happy.

[break][break] He sighs.

[break][break] "I'm sorry anna," he says. Not just for this, but for so many other things that he can't say. "But — I'm always here for you if you need someone to talk to."

[break][break] Ollie bites his lip and then sighs again, looking back to the stack of papers, finally relinquishing the subject to what she wants.

[break][break] His eyes scan over the first few pages, flipping through them. It's exactly like many of the other reports that he'd been getting. The amount of Paradox Pokemon being found, having to be re-homed or transported away from safer locations, was astronomical.

[break][break] "We need to map out both areas before we even think about opening it to the public," he said with a frown. "Before they cause anymore damage."

[break][break] His voice hardened to a more serious "Head Ranger" tone.

[break][break] "Have you found anything or anyone suspicious in your expeditions?"

"i'll ask paxton." maybe the council's own security would be able to spare some forces to petition around AREA ZERO. if not, paxton concordas would at least know the people to ask. "he has a lot of contacts, i'm sure we can figure out some way to increase the security around the area."

[break][break] it was a temporary solution, not a permanent fix. after all, if they'd learned anything from the silence icelands in general, it was that they couldn't gatekeep it forever.

Eva Morales, alongside probably illeana reyes or GIDEON GRAVES, would have more to be glimpsed from these unusual creatures — maybe even more than what could be found in the depths of the glimmering caverns.

[break][break] the last time he'd seen the elite four was when they were navigating those tera tunnels together.
