A small smile crossed Thea's lips as Noah told her heart was on the right place. Her cheeks flushed, but her grin grew determined when he spoke of not letting it break. "I will do my best, that's why I don't train just my muscles..." Martial Arts helped the mind and the spirit as well, and Thea hoped she has been training both well.[break][break]

Zeus was surprised that the Hariyama actually buckled to the mat— "Don't leave room for recover!" She warned, and Zeus rushed, trying to aim for a focused Cross Chop.[break][break]

Gominha, on another hand, was surprised to see that even after trying to wrestle the Medicham, she still managed to go for a Drain Punch. She felt her vitality, that was usually quite bulk, escape her body. Weakened, she couldn't hold the grapple for long, and she rolled away as she released her opponent.[break][break]

"I can imagine..." Thea frowned her lips at her own memories. She couldn't help but think how someone that actually fought the Rockets off felt about it. "Have you ever got too close to losing your heart, Noah?"[break][break]

the hariyama pushes off from the mat. its palms rise like sootopolis walls, greeting the furious wave of zeus's arms and fists (CROSS CHOP). as they clash, noah's hariyama forces a test of strength.[break][break]

his medicham is fast on its feet, but it does not chase after the wigglytuff. instead, it conserves its strength. breathes slow and steady as it circles around to the wigglytuff.[break][break]

"i can't lie to you." noah says. "too many times." he tightens his lips and reminisces too. "but i'm still standing."[break][break]

his medicham lunges for the wigglytuff, fist soaring toward the bunny's stomach—but the limb is withdrawn quick: a feint. a DETECT is used preemptively to attempt to catch gominha off-guard.[break][break]

Thea smiled at Noah's words, and she grinned. "I hope so too, but I have a feeling that I will—" Life was all about ups and downs, after all. "— But when I do, I will remember there are people like you that keep standing, if you can do, I can do it too!" Thea gestured, calling for her Pokémons. "Be careful with your opponents, don't let them control the pace of the battle!"[break][break]

Zeus clenched the Cross Chop against Fong, and while backing off to attempt another strike would've been wiser, he doesn't back off and decides to follow Noah's words rather than Thea's, using Focus Energy to gather up the strength he needed to attempt to keep pushing. Yet, the difference of strength was just too much, as strong as a Primeape was, a Hariyama was just a wall of resilience and raw strength, brute forcing without a second thought wasn't the way to go.[break][break]

Gominha on another hand, felt concerned about Zeus, and decided to try to finish her battle as quickly as possible to go help him, she took the false opening Roda gave with the feint punch toward her stomach. She was ready to close the distance, to cushion the punch on her belly and grapple the Medicham with another flurry of Rough Play.[break][break]

his hariyama's dark hairs ruffle above a wrenching gaze, each eye a bolt betwixt the jaws of a fighter's doggedness. it grunts. struggles to endure its rival's resolve—and like a dewford surge wave, a FORCE PALM is loosed from its pushing hands.[break][break]

meanwhile, his medicham is clobbered by the PLAY ROUGH. a flurry of pink batters the pokemon's lithe body: the relentless barrage is gravity itself, sucking the medicham into blow after blow by recoil's tug.[break][break]

in the aftermath, the medicham topples to the floor.[break][break]

"huh." there is no disappointment. just deepened intrigue as he spies thea and her pokemon's talents.[break][break]

Thea blinked, and her face coloured at Noah's reaction to her words. "Wh-Wholesome? Haha, I mean—" She rubbed her nape sheepishly. Did she sound silly or naive? That was so embarrassing she didn't know where to hide her face![break][break]

Thankfully, those embarrassing feelings didn't took Thea's attention for too long, especially when seeing one of Noah's Pokémons falling. Thea's eyes grew wide. She was ready for a fight, for sure, and she wasn't going to hold back at all, but she didn't expect to get one win in that. "Good job, Gominha!" She cheered, and the Wigglytuff huffed, letting out a shrinking balloon sound as she deflated a bit, mustering some energy to look at her partner and his opponent.[break][break]

Somehow, Zeus had managed to overcome the strength of the Hariyama, but being so focused on the strength contest, he didn't have time to protect himself from the incoming counter attack, that struck him with all its power. His eyes widened as he was knocked away, with his body stiffening as he tried to force his way back— He fought, but his movements felt sluggish, and soon his muscles stiffened once again, but this time becoming tight like a rock. He was Paralyzed![break][break]

"Zeus!" Thea called, but he couldn't move or follow up with the fight right away.[break][break]

his hariyama leaps for a HEAVY SLAM on zeus—and in midair, pierces its focused, fiery stare at gominha.[break][break]

the landing, whether it strikes the primeape or the floor, resounds with the drama of thunder.

The Heavy Slam struck Zeus before he could react, trying to endure it instead, the monkey Pokémon failed to withstand it and dropped knocked out, too weakened to stand.[break][break]

Gominha winced looking at her fellow pokémon being taken out of the battle, but at the same time, she had no sparing energies to keep going. Something that was unusual, but that was what happened when you fought Pokémons that were above your skills.[break][break]

Thea watched the situation conflicted, letting out a sigh and raising her hand to her father, that nodded and followed with the announcement that Noah and his Pokémon had won the battle. "Well, at least it wasn't an actual Gym challenge." Thea chuckled, approaching Gominha and patting her before going for Zeus, that looked at Thea with a dazed expression. "You did great, Zeus." She ruffled his fur, and looked at the other Pokémon with a nod, and bowed to Noah.[break][break]

"Thanks for the battle! I've never thought I would have the change to battle with someone this tough!" She grinned.[break][break]

"right back atcha'!" the gym leader grins and briefly, he grows sheepish. he rubs a finger beneath his nose. "you're probably way ahead of where i was at your age."[break][break]

together, he bows with his hariyama. he bows to damian too, the form as precise and proper as the postures he teaches his students.[break][break]

"the naito clan is definitely hoenn's pride and joy." though he means the whole dojo, a small snuck in wink conveys that thea is a crowning jewel.
