Thea's eyes widened seeing the spray of acid— but before she could react, Caleb himself was already pulling her, and the acid splashed out of their reach. "Woah, thanks!" She sighed and locked her eyes on the two Sevipers. They had the number advantage, and Thea was sure going to take it while thrusting her hand forward to order—[break][break]

"Gominha, don't hold back! Zeus, follow up and don't let them catch a breath!"[break][break]

The Wigglytuff squeaked like a balloon, poucing and managing to take a tight hold on the first Seviper and covering its face with a flurry of slaps, Playing Rough with it before it slipped from her hand, only to Zeus grab it by the tail and rotate it for a Seismic Toss, slamming it and trying to get rid of one of the threats so the other duo could finish off the one that was being pummeled.[break][break]

"I doubt they are the only ones though—" Thea voiced with a hint of concern, hiding the Minccino behind her back.[break][break]

"Sounds like a great way to live a friendship!" Thea laughed heartily. She didn't have many friends that could keep up with her shenanigans, so she didn't experience what Thomas and Noah did yet. But perhaps that could change someday.[break][break]

"Oh woah, you have an Annihilape? I don't think I've ever seen one in person..." Thea pondered about it. She has only seen them in the TV, and their gaze gave her shivers in her spine, with her faint aversion to Ghost pokémons. At the offer, Zeus oinked determined, and Thea glanced at him with a shrug.[break][break]

"I think if I don't give him a spar today, especially with Noah not showing up, he will be very mad at me." She teased looking at Zeus, who promptly looked at her with a stoic expression, crossing his arms as if protesting that he would be so childish as she was claiming he would be.[break][break]

"I am joking~ But if Thomas is up to, I am down for sure." Thea grinned.[break][break]

Thea's eyebrows rose in curiosity and interest when Lydia mentioned it was a family value. It was slightly different than her own family, that had Martial Arts involved, but it was never something enforced or particularly encouraged. Rather, it was something that Thea had acquired the interest almost by osmosis.[break][break]

The thoughts that were more of a formality made Thea wonder just how eager the woman was for what she had actually come for... And when she answered, a smile grew on her. "I will be your spar then." She nodded, glancing at her Pokémons and quietly gesturing them to take the sides of the dojo and watch, with the Wigglytuff rolling to the middle to act as a 'referee'.[break][break]

When she got herself in the position and their gazes met, Thea's expressions perked up noticing how Lydia was looking at her. "Those are beautiful eyes. I love them!" She clenched her fists, getting on a stance. "I was going to ask what type of spar you want, but your look tells it all. Let's fight to our heart's content!" Thea was beaming as she bowed respectfully to her opponent, and as soon as the Wigglytuff squeaked to sign the start, Thea charged in for a hit, only to halt halfway and follow up with a feint punch— trying to test the woman's reflexes.[break][break]

Thea's grin grew on her lips along with flushing cheeks at Noah's remark. Huffing proudly and winking. "Then I will be exactly what you need!" Her attention then returned to the Machops, with her main duo of Pokémons giving them a long lookover, Zeus moreso than Gominha, that was more carefree.[break][break]

"Yeah, in the Naito Style." She nodded, pondering for a moment when considering her father's training philosophy.[break][break]

"The Naito style is surrounded by resilience and tenacity of never losing one's spirit, and bringing out the beauty of Martial Arts through it." Thea looked at Noah with a confident smile. "It is showing how wonderful and pretty is to show the limits of the physical perfection!"[break][break]

After answering, Thea blinked, noticing how much her answer answered herself in the matter of who to choose. "So I suppose the ones we need to choose isn't necessarily the strongest, or the smartest, but we need to choose the ones that have the most spirit and willpower." She narrowed her eyes, looking at each of the Machops before looking at Noah. "Anyone that catches your fancy on that?" She supposed he knew the Machops more than her.[break][break]

"H... How..?!" Thea's eyes widened sligthly at the reveal. The grasp on Cass tightening for a second before she held back and didn't allow her emotions to take over her. She couldn't freak out, no matter how much the dire memories rushed back into her mind. Her best friend needed her right now. "... Tch, if they come back, we will teach them a lesson. They won't catch us off guard again." She scowled, letting out a determined breath before looking at Cass.[break][break]

Something complicated seemed to be entangled in the stumbling voice of her dearest friend, but what truly worried Thea was how troubled she looked. What made her run so far? It made Thea's desire to do something about it itch for an answer, almost demand for one...[break][break]

"It... It is okay. You don't need to tell me if you can't." Thea interrupted Cass from forcing herself to speak about it. More important than knowing what happened...[break][break]

"But I must know how I can help you." Her eyes were firmly locked on Cass' eyes. "I will do whatever you need, even if you don't tell me the reason."[break][break]

Thea's eyes glanced at the shoulder, and the mention of poison made her wince and nudge Gominha closer. "Can we check it?"[break][break]

Thea's cheeks flushed along with a wide grin, jolly about the compliment return. "I'm glad you like my name. It is pretty nice, isn't it~" She puffed her chest proudly, even if it was something as simple as her name.[break][break]

Her posture returned to normal as soon as he mentioned his interests, some of them that brought a hint of relatability to Thea, which she nodded. "I getcha. Well, I'm not really not allowed to go in the nature, but my dad is really overprotective at times, so it is a bit hard at times." Her thumb pointed at the Wigglytuff that was with her.[break][break]

"I got Gominha when I was younger exactly because my dad didn't want me to go around without a 'bodyguard'." She chuckled, and Gominha squeaked briefly.[break][break]

"The nature is amazing though, everything is livelier here... And it is a perfect place to train." Thea flex and clasped a hand on her bicep, while Zeus the Primeape nodded with an oink.[break][break]

"A true Ranger never really clocks off, is what my mom used to say." Thea had a longing smile on her lips when the reminder crossed her mind and slipped through her lips.[break][break]

Her eyes flickered, looking back at the man with a warm smile as soon as he voiced she had been useful, making her perk up. It was good enough to know she hadn't got on his way, but to think she had actually been helpful was even better. "I'm glad I could help! Honestly, I was so worried that something bad would happen..." Her lips pursed, and she looked around with a frown.[break][break]

"But actually..." She cleared her throat, now with a hint of wariness in her eyes.[break][break]

"This whole situation is still weird. The wound that pokémon had didn't look like an accident, but there was also no other Pokémon around, so it wasn't a predator... I wonder what happened." It was a mystery.[break][break]

Thea frowned at the possibility of them engaging a fragile situation. If possible, she would rather face a direct confrontation, without having to worry about other complicated details. She really didn't want to get someone else involved in that mess... Perhaps that was exactly how Lut felt about stumbling on Thea in a battlefield like the one they were in.[break][break]

That was enough to make a pang of guilt to afflict Thea.[break][break]

However, soon she shook that feeling off as soon as they met their first target— and it was nothing less than a Krookodile, making it feel like it was destiny, as the pokémon they were just talking about appeared before their eyes.[break][break]

Lut's swift surprise attack caught the Rocket off guard, making them shot a fierce glare at Lut, gritting his teeth in a vicious grin as they clenched their fist, with their Krookodile taking a fighting stance followed by a roar that made Bella flinch immediately, hiding behind Thea while Gominha and Zeus forced themselves forward, and Hammy stood behind to cover the rearguard. The hostility along with the fighting desire was clear in the Rocket, but as soon as their eyes met Thea's, the vicious grin turned into a smug smirk.[break][break]

"Heh... You of all people? Last thing I was expecting today was nostalgia." A tone of mockery erupted from their voice, but at the same time, all hostility seemed to fade as they dismissed Lut's threat. "Come with you? I don't think so." They snapped their fingers, and the Krookodile was immediate to react to it, stomping the ground to cause a brief Earthquake, followed by a strong tail swinging that brought forth a blinding Sandstorm that engulfed Pokémons and Trainers alike.[break][break]

"H-HEY!" It was hard to see through the flurry of sand that surrounded them, but as soon as the sandstorm faded away, Thea opened her eyes, darting them around to see if she could spot the Rocket— But for her frustration, there was no more hint of them.[break][break]

"What was that guy..." She muttered, feeling a mix of familiarity and dread tightening her chest.[break][break]

"You are right—" Thea glanced back, trying to spot if any 'bad news' were approaching. But she placed all the trust in Sylph and Lut, as they were the ones that had the most knowledge on how to handle the mess Thea had just got herself into.[break][break]

"Yes, it isn't much, but it is what I have to work with." She admitted bitterly. "I won't give up just because of that, however. I want to make this work." Her gaze then fell to the Togekiss, smiling softly to her. Probably it meant that she was the one that found out she was about to get in trouble before the bad stuff actually happened.[break][break]

When Cass allowed tears to roll down, Thea didn't hold her own tears back either. She embraced her friend tightly, but also lovingly. She was so happy to see her friend again, but there was also concern pulling her heart strings, along with questions, doubts, and even anger. Who had pushed Cass to the limit she had to run away? What had happened?[break][break]

The hug tightened even more at the thought, but eventually it softened, especially when Cass leaned away. The touch of her hand on Thea's cheek made Thea raise her hand to place on top of Cass', looking at her eyes with pursing lips. "I am the one that should be asking—" She paused herself, taking a deep breath. "I wasn't, but now that I see you... I'm worried, but better."[break][break]

Soon she added, while inching closer to Cass. "And you? How are you?" She held her friend, worriedly.[break][break]
