Gawain rose from his crouch besides the hole, nodding Gwyar's way.

The blonde nodded back, before turning his gaze to his companion for this little extraction.

"Ms. Nariya. Shall we, then?" He said, stepping towards the hole, his Gallade's eyes glowing as he prepared to lower the blonde down into the depths.

Shalin clutched Midori's saddle tightly as the desert sands swirled around the natural Power Spot far away from the part of the landscape she was familiar with. While the psychic-type could not levitate using her powerful mind, she could slow her descent enough to prevent herself from suffering serious harm. Why were the Tera Crystals all poison-type, though? Was it linked to the Eternatus they had mine from in the Ultra Sea?

All she could do was press on.

"Coming, sire!" the Captain addressed the Galarian knight. Hopping over the edge, the Iron Leaves fell into the chasm, using her potent mind to shift her body's angle in order to dodge Tera Crystals jutting out from the vertical shaft's sides. Were these Power Spots linked to the Terastal cave network below, too?

The poison tera shards covering the walls pushed away the dark with a magenta sheen, allowing them passage with or without lanterns.

As they advanced, they eventually came to a fork on the road.

Looking between them, Gwyar turned to Shalin and smiled.

"I heard it once said that 'good adventurers go left'." Gwyar saidm, mild humor in his tone. "Your thoughts?"

Besides him, his Gallade stood as a sharp guard, blades already drawn whilst his gaze moved about the caverns wearily.

As the sunlight quickly faded away, giving way to a colossal cavern lit by the purple sheen of Poison-type Tera Crystals, Shalin mentally guided Midori toward the left passage, just as Gwyar had suggested. The Iron Leaves drew her Sacred Sword, creating the hum of a laser sword typically found in futuristic movies. "One way doesn't look any better than the other," the Captain nodded in agreement, Midori letting loose her psychic hold on Shalin just enough for her to pivot her body.

"It's been too long, Gwyar," Shalin asked as Midori walked forward to keep pace with the knight. "What you been up to all this time?" Midori chirped happily; though she was a little nervous from all the poison-type Terastal energy floating in the air, she was in great spirits, her mind held up by Shalin's radiating positivity.

"So it has. Apologies— I've been a busy bee." Gwyar said as they arrived at the end of their path. "And I tend to focus on my work. Can't be too careful in Hoenn."
No hallucinations, no giant beasts— just resources, free for the taking.

Hoisting the drill he had been given by the league off his shoulder and into his hand, he approached a tera-crystal vien, and began to work.

"And yourself?"

"You're not the only one," Shalin replied, reaching for Treble's Poké Ball. "Taking the Captain's seat in Rustboro has left me busier than I'd like. Been rewarding, but busy." Clicking the device open, the Iron Leaves' rider let the saddle-wearing Kommo-o roam inside the Terastal Cavern.

To their great fortune, there were no signs of danger. No Eternatus core like in the Ultra Sea. No unusual spikes of Dynergy. Just crystals to be extracted from the walls. Treble knew what Shalin wanted him to do, but the dragon-type had other ideas, crouching and pointing his rattlesnake-like tail to his back. "I wasn't planning on it, Treble, but if you want to, I could..." she trailed off, sliding off the Iron Leaves and onto her prized fighting-type.

There was still one safety measure missing, and that was her Flygon. When she clicked open the insectile creature's Poké Ball, her Sygna Suit began glowing a faint green. Gripping the front end of Treble's saddle tightly, Shalin braced herself. "Alright - go, Treble, go!" After he rested both his fists against the cave wall Gwyar Wledig was mining from, every scale on the Kommo-o's body began to vibrate, letting the dragon easily grind through the softer material and extract the harder, tougher ores they were looking for. The green glow became brighter as the frequency elevated. By the time the Kommo-o was done, Shalin looked like she got off the wildest roller coaster ride in the world, a plethora of Dynite Ore and poison-type Terastal Crystals at their feet.

"Rustboro, eh? I imagined you as more of a verdanturf or fortree kind of woman. Apologies if that's presumptuous." He says, chuckling as they work. "Good job. It can't have been easy getting that promotion."

Though Hoenn got through qualified staff like a drug addict went through crack, the region never seemed to lower its standards. All who got their positions got them for a reason.

After a while, they have everything they need.

On the way back, however, it becomes quite taxing. The caverns are bizarre, hard to navigate whilst carrying along their heavy loads. Eventually, after crunching the numbers in his head— He begins to lessen the load, using it as a sort of rope to guide themselves.

He was very tired of going in circles.

When they finally found the hole they fell in from, his smile couldn't have been wider.

"There we go. Shall we, then?" He asked with a smile, releasing his Gallade once again.

"If the seats were open, I would have taken them," Shalin replied in between Treble's bursts of vibration rocking her. "Had I known wren rourke was also stepping down, I'd have set up shop in Petalburg. But I'm happy; my office isn't too far from my home in Petalburg Woods."

Without a Dynamax Band to get experience being exposed to Dynergy, the waves of the red, potent power source began to wear her and her Pokémon down. Shalin's grip slipped during the next round of vibrations, causing her to fall and land on her rear. The twists the duo had taken were quite disorienting, even for Shalin, one of Hoenn's greatest explorers.

"I had been putting off getting a Dynamax Band as long as I could. But if I'm going to be going into these Power Spots this often, it might be time," she sighed, switching ride Pokémon to her much more stable Flygon. Transferring the contents of Treble's saddlebags to those of her Sygna Pokémon, she took off after Gwyar, ready to return to the surface.
