greetings are brief. handshakes firm. fernando does not dwaddle when his schedule is already inflated by sporadic episodes. a fixation on wasting time on Elisabeth Fiorelli, even when innocuous in nature, starts to add up. and that time loss finds no compensation by his efforts.

what he cannot do or accomplish will be left for someone else. and should there be no one, then it will fall in the cracks. it is no longer his primary concern.

"Yes, sir." He says simply, smile unshaken as he spins on his heel and leads the way, his staff not quite as smooth but nonetheless eager to do the job right.

It wasn't every day one got to meet— well, work near —one of their nation's most important men. Nobody wanted to fuck anything up while Hoenn's longest serving Councilman was watching.

Gwyar led Fernando through the insides of the stadium swiftly, but not hurriedly— though Fernando ran a tight schedule, Gwyar, again, wasn't going to hurry the man along.

They were soon standing backstage. Though Fernando was scheduled to go live in 10 minutes, the fact that the man had arrived had surely spread by now. Even if things delayed a bit, nobody would mind— or at least, no one would go anywhere.

Bottles of water, both cold and lukewarm, had been prepared for the man who would go on stage. Finger Foods and other small meals had been prepared in advance just in case the man felt peckish prior to going on stage.

"If there's anything you need now Councilman, let us know and we shall find a way to make it happen." Gwyar said, bowing slightly at the waist politely.

"Understood. Thank you, sir." They both understood courtesy for what it was, it seemed.

"It is as you see, sir." He says simply, letting the crowds outside, the perfectly kept arena, and the numerous gym trainers working efficiently briefly speak for themselves. He smiled. "I enjoy the job as well now as I did back in my day— though I never had quite so many vermin scurrying about in Ballonlea."

Gwyar reported regularly. He wielded the might of the local police department to chase after rocket activity on Mossdeep island like a (blood)houndoom, and had become about as vicious as one in trying to stamp it out, too.

He had done his best to make himself a deep thorn on rocket Admin Fox's (howard slayte) side since that day.

Did Fernando keep up to date with such reports? He dismissed the thought after a short moment. The man was surely too busy to read up on what each individual gym leader was up to. Probably had a someone or someones that did it for him and made sure to only report the relevant bits.

fernando contemplates for a moment before answering, “be vigilant in your improvement—your potential—is already the best advice. just asking that much already puts you on the golden path.”

but that’s not a sufficient answer. it’s a non-answer, a safe cop out that provides little value to someone who already knows it.

“all actions have consequences,” he starts, “we are in unprecedented times. think your actions through and the ramifications that may come. being able to articulate that, your intent, will navigate whatever inevitable fallout comes your way.”

Consequences were inevitable. Anything worth pursuing in the current climate would have inevitable ripple effects across the region.

Know what the consequences are.

Be certain your goals are worth these carefully projected ramifications.

Carry them out, knowing you'll be questioned no matter how things shake out.

And ideally— Don't fuck it up.

Less needs be explained, when one succeeds.

Gwyar nodded slowly, hoping he had interpreted the man's advise correctly.

Despite having a decade on the man, Fernando Silph's presence was unlike that of any man his age.

Powerful 20-somethings were numerous in Hoenn. But the aura the man before him projected was unlike that of any other person he had met yet.

It was unlike dahlia goode. Unlike declan walsh.

If he had needed to liken it to anything... like a King on his throne. Curious that he never sat at the reigns, back in Galar.

"Thank you for your advice." Gwyar said, bowing politely at the man as he internalized what he believed the advice to have been.

The roar of the crowd grew louder.

"It is almost time." Gwyar said, turning his gaze to Fernando. "Shall we?"

There was no expectation in his tone. The councilman held the reigns of this event now.

little more needs to be said before both men take the stage. a brief introduction starts the speech but fernando is quick to address his topic at hand. his particular talking point is about hoenn’s recent ANOMALIES.

not so much the DRK TRIAD or the infinite chaos that has sprout around the region, but rather the ramifications is has on battle. MEGA EVOLUTION, Z-MOVES, TERA CRYSTALS, all phenomenon that are rare inside themselves and hardly ever intersecting. only in hoenn, can trainers find an abundance of each and every one.

which revolutionizes the way its trainers must now do battle.
