There were fences that needed fixing, soil that needed tilling, and Jethro was only one man, so when McGillicutty had promised to loan his boys to give him a hand with sprucing up his little parcel of land, Jethro couldn't refuse. [break][break] But now that he was here, staring at the chick-scratch directions that the old coot had written down for him, Jethro was starting to become aware of some discrepancies. What he thought said Duvet Ranch was starting to look a little more like Dubois Ranch. Maybe he'd passed a place like on the way over? And he thought these eggs were supposed to be heading to a local daycare, not a privately owned property. [break][break] Jethro sighed with agitation as the bull next to him lowed impatiently, saddlebags full of eggs resting across the Tauros' back. The old ex-Ranger leaned against some nearby fencing and glowered; alright, so he'd probably have to hit the road again soon, but Jethro was damned if he was hitting the old dusty trail again before he got a chance to rest his tired feet. Maybe if he moved out quickly enough, the homeowner wouldn't realize there was a stranger loitering on their property.
