The place was always more haunting at night.[break][break]

Go figure, thinking that the routes and lands surrounding a well-known cemetery were all the more chilling beneath the veil of night, but the fact remained, nevertheless. Maybe it was because of the eerie idleness that came with the blanket of evening that drove others to stay away save for necessity within those hours of night, but alas…[break][break]

He watched as the ghastly form of a barnacled creature formed amidst the nearby waves.[break]
He eyed it with little interest before sighing.[break][break]

Instead, his gaze turned down towards the selfsame rock he'd settled himself upon, hues of amber scanning the surrounding cracks and crevices around him for any sort of pebbles or rubble large enough to palm. Before long, he found one adequately sized, rolling it between his fingers before peering out across the rolling waves once more.[break][break]

He gave the rock a couple of lighter tosses and catches before ultimately lobbing it across the water's surface and watching it skip for as long as it would.[break][break]

Much to his lacking surprise, the stone seemed to skip just several ripples away before being devoured amidst the waves in the distance. His gaze loomed upon the spot it ultimately stopped, his mind wandering briefly as it began its descent into the ocean depths.[break][break]

His eyes eventually traced the waves closer and closer back to his person, but before he glimpsed any of the land nearby, he found his attention locked onto an odd form against the shimmer and ripples of the tide.[break][break]

At first, he thought his eyes to be playing tricks upon him, but after a long enough time of staring and squinting, he realized that the object in his sight had been less scenery and more creature— and one that seemed to be struggling among the waves in its way back to the shoreline. His back straightened instinctively as he strained to get a better eye, but before long, he looked down at the Pokeballs atop his belt before releasing one of them.[break][break]

The sight of a familiar Golurk met his eye as it manifested, gargantuan and hulking. It stared down at him as if questioning him before he pointed towards the horizon.[break][break]

"Bring 'em over t'me."[break][break]

A command easily received as it was carried out. Just as it had done numerous times in the past, the titan disappeared from beside him, and he watched as it manifested above the waves once more before reaching down into the water. It disappeared and reappeared by him a second time, placing a sopping little pup down onto the rock beside him.[break][break]

Winded. Weak.[break]
Pitiful.[break][break]

His brows furrowed as he idled in thought for a moment, but with relative haste, he pulled a spare Pokeball out before tapping it against the dog's back.[break][break]
