Avery was honestly surprised they’d let her in. For a place run with strict wardenship, they were really allowing anyone entry, huh?

AATTVV pattered along at her side, almost invisible in the tall grass. Out of all of her crew, she could count on All Terrain Venonat to take down wild Pokemon without harming them past the point of no return.

Somewhere at the back of her brain Avery was aware of Basic Training 101 and knew that catching Pokemon was made easier by afflicting them with status ailments, or confusing them, which was one of the reason’s she’d brought along All Terrain Venonat.

But the first Pokemon they encountered, Galarian Yamask, was not affected by confuse ray.

Panicking for no reason and thinking herself out of options she grabbed the fluffy jub-jub shaped Pokemon and prepared to chuck it at the flying ghost. Luckily, AATTVV had a brain, and, while clasped in his trainer’s hands like a basketball about to be chest passed, gripped the Yamask with psychic and gave it a good shake.

“Oh. Sure, that works,” Avery allowed, tucking AATTVV under one arm and zapping the spinning Yamask with a Safari Ball.

The Nickit darted out of the long grass and attempted to snag AATTVV in its mouth and run off with him. Luckily, ‘all terrain’ meant all terrain, even the mouths of foxes, and the Venonat fired off a supersonic at close range, leaving the vulpine staggering and starry eyed.

Avery threw a safari ball while AATTVV rolled around in the grass to get the slobber out of his fur.
