Scratching his chin in contemplation, the professor scarcely noticed a small intruder lurking in the shadows of a nearby tree. Scribe, however, perceived the MEAN LOOK coming from the gloom and whistled a warning sound to its trainer.[break][break]

"Oh?" Gideon turned, seeing the outline of the Ghost-type Pokémon. "Immobilize it for now, Scribe."

ROTOM's THUNDER WAVE gave the YAMASK enough of a shock to send tumbling to the ground, immobilized. Gideon felt content leaving it there for now, but then remembered the obligatory Safari Balls he'd been given upon entrance into the park.[break][break]

Why not catch it? He reasoned it might be useful in some capacity at the museum.[break][break]

After patting down his light jacket and then khaki field pants, eventually he found the appropriate capsule and lobbed it at the YAMASK.

In reality, it was not a PIKACHU lurking in the brush, but a well-disguised MIMIKYU. GIDEON GRAVES only realized this when it came stumbling out into the open, startled by Scribe's DISCHARGE.[break][break]

It lashed out with a weak SHADOW CLAW, but a second DISCHARGE was enough to knock it off its feet and allow Gideon to capture it.[break][break]

The professor didn't get much downtime, however, as a second Pokémon appeared nearby, perhaps drawn out by the commotion. Noticing its unique coloration, Gideon nodded for his ROTOM to engage with the SEEDOT as well.

Once the SEEDOT was captured, GIDEON GRAVES continued on with his data collection. Next, he gathered a few glass vials from his pack and went to collect water samples from the pond's edge.[break][break]

It was there that he spied a SHIELDON drinking across the other side. It hadn't seen him yet — good, they were known to be flighty creatures at this stage. Opposite to their larger BASTIODON evolution.[break][break]
