It was a cloudy spring day and the air was thick and wet with the promise of an eventual thunderstorm. Porter had spent the morning doing research at the Oceanic Museum, and was now wandering the city in search of some good curry, Iunia trotting at his side.

“Oh-- wait, what were you doing in the trash?” Porter asked, kneeling over the Happiny as it blinked up into the cloudy sky.

Predictably, it didn’t say anything back, but waved its stubby arms and cooed.

“C’mere, poor thing.” He picked it up and held it to his chest, then scrunkled his face. “Oh, yuck, you stink. Let’s get you a bath.”
