"even if i could convince them," which he knows he can because as much as he's skirting around the topic, is right. their best chance at survival is unity, but how can they unite with the opposing side when their own house is divided? "it will not fly with kanto."

and as she asks her question, the truth is he doesn't know what they should do against the drk triad, but to accept that much would be to admit his incompetence.

"we treat them the same way we would any other enemy. we plan, we adapt, we conquer."

It always came back to Kanto.[break][break]
She ground her teeth in frustration. Kanto was a part of this world, wasn't it? The DRK Triad wouldn't spare them simply because they weren't experiencing nearly as many anomalies as Hoenn. Hoenn might be the Origin Point, but destroying it would cascade outwards, a ripple effect that would take down every other region, like the mounting torrent of a tsunami traveling across the sea.[break][break]
"Surely there are some things worth defying Kanto for," she hissed, careful not to express her anger too treasonously.[break][break]
The ground shook as something massive stepped forth out of the gloom. The electric current she had heard earlier spiderwebbed outwards through cracks in the concrete ground. If Nomi had stepped out of the space craft fully, she would have been electrocuted. Heart hammering with sudden adrenaline, she looked up, taking in the sight of a massive larger-than-life Regieleki.[break][break]
"Dynamax?" She guessed. "There must be a power spot nearby."

he raises an eyebrow.

the mere suggestion of defiance is enough for the alarms in his head to sound, each rap louder than the last. he is taken back to kanto, to the times had bordered the same; he remembers what must be done.

"rein your ambitions in, sato. i would hate to see you burn when you have so much left to give."

he leaves her with a warning as they continue with the rest of their expedition.
